my 3rd visit
first we went to law college road and had an awesome experience where prawns alu wadi was complemented and the experience was great

cleanliness= 5 star
taste = 5 star
service = 5 star

second visit i took my mom and she has a detailed eye on how food is cooked and her verdict was "awesome" which i think justify the quality taste which is given

third visit was with brother and we ordered special fish thali, which had pomfret, surmai fry prawns curry , goan curry the whole thali was awesome
this was suggested by owner himself and it was a right call the whole experience was just full of taste ....!!

first off, it's a cosy, homely place in a vintage structure. it has ample seating on two floors. we sat on the ground floor, close to the kitchen.

as soon as we were seated, we were given a bowl each of tival. it was welcoming and tasty. for lunch, my family ordered prawns green fry and surmai goan curry. they were very happy with both. the prawns disappeared at a worrying speed. 😅 the surmai was very fresh and well cooked. it had a great texture. the goan curry was moderately spiced and paired well with rice. my husband does not like too much spice in his fish; he likes to enjoy its texture, so the curry suited him just fine.

in my vegetarian thali, almost all dishes were yum. please see pic for the contents. thericebhakri was to live for. only the dal could be tastier.

solkadhi was refreshing. not too sweet, not too garlicky. just right. ✅

overall, a good place. my family will go again and so will i. :)

had ordered prawnsricethe portion was very less for the price they quoted , for one person also quantity was very less served .
also had ordered stuffed pompfret was 630rs but was good in taste and again portion and quantity wise not recommended.

ordered garlic stuffed pomfret, pawnsriceand solkadhi. all of this is a must try.

a beautiful wada turned into a dine in restaurant with a garden area. inside it has several rooms, on ground floor and first floor, interiors- white walls have pictures of movies, wooded doors, windows and staircase, simple furniture and a very cool ambiance. an open kitchen for all to see whats cooking inside 😉

fish curryriceis a to go place …food that screams coastal - both non veg and veg treasured by punekars for a long time since its inception. consistency, promise of good quality meat, authentic preparation in goan, karwari, konkani and more, plus good service. it has bagged several awards over the years. so it definitely needs no introduction and it is apt opening a new branch to come closer to customers at tilak road.

we stared with #stuffed_bombil_fry it is such an amazing way to start your meal…absolutely delicious
#surmai_fry : crispy and fresh .. i loved it!
#pomfret_fry : a sizeable sized pomfret ..again very delicious.
#tival : a spicy cool drink . this one had a vee bit sweetness.

with ordered for a tisrya (शिपल्या)thali and crab (खेकडा)thali. each #thali has sukat, cauliflower pickle, coconut tamarind chutney, onion lemon, two fish curry( goan and karwari), sol kadhi, chappati/bhakri and rice. it came along with crab/ tisrya thick curry/fry. the crab curry was spicy and the tisrya curry is flavourful.

every item on the plate was bliss. one can ask for unlimited siders and ask for hot chapati /bhakri /rice servers are courteous however on a busy day you need to wait your turn to be served.

dessert #kharwas … it was a perfect way to end to this meal. kharwas is sugar based, out sourced, portion is huge. it tastes is more like a kharwas custard.

fish curryricehas a well thought out menu. it plays a vital role.starters were top notch. every element in the thali has defined taste and one can surely enjoy this lavishness if you are a born foodie.

recently visited this place which serves authentic fish with a decent ambience.
since the restaurant owners have a background from theatre and drama field they have kept the ambience with boards of various dramas in which they have contributed in some way . these drama boards have been hanged in the outdoor area which is the garden kind of area outside the restaurant .
for the indoor ambience warm lights with various frames of actors , actresses , etc all over the wall.
the restaurant has three places where the sitting is available the outer garden area , the indoor ground floor area and the first floor area.
in the fish fry we had surmai rava , surmai masala , bangda fry , bombil thecha fry and also lasuni paplet which i personally tried out for the first time.
in lasuni paplet a masala with base of lasun was stuffed in it never thought ( this was the first time i tried lasuni paplet ) it would taste so good.
all the fish variants surmai rava fry , surmai masala fry , bombil thecha fry were top notch the quality and taste is heavenly.
coming to the thalis a perfect plate , a plate of happiness i would say , the curries served with the thali were authentic and so delicious that one could even enjoy sip by sip.
meanwhile the owner also told us about how actually should we eatricewith curry.
so the actual way of having curries withriceis to add curry and also add same amount of solkadi in it .
this actually tasted so good .
we also tried their tila ( kokam) and solkadi which were totally authentic in taste.

the best part is the owner actually explained us how should we have the proper taste of curries andricealong with solkadhi overall amazing restaurant

1 star less for poor packaging. better packaging will make it a preferred restaurant. also, prawnsriceis just average.

worst fish thali ever had ... no green chutney no lemon ... pompret curry was just water without taste.... prawns curry had gravy of paneer .... pompret fry had foul smell.....

now the quality has become worst please stop fooling customers

bombil thecha fry is great, must have.
chicken thali is very good , especially dry chicken part.
solkadhi is good.
chapati ,ricegood.
veg subji, daal very good considering this is mainly non veg restaurant.
packing, quantity perfect. zomato delivery was also very fast.
overall 5/5 from me, keep it up.

thericeportion was really small. thericewas also a bit too dry.

the new outlet of fish curryriceon tilak road gives you a very warm maharashtrian home kind of a feel the moment you enter. the reason being that it is opened in an old home (a wada in fact) which has been converted into a restaurant. you can still find the old doors, heavy latches, and staircase of old times intact. though the seating area is modest, it has outdoor seating, indoor seating on the ground floor and first floor, a separate terrace seating just for two, and also a section dedicated for big groups.
when it comes to seafood, fish curryriceis one of my favorite restaurant in town.
my favourites here are the thecha stuffed fried fish. i especially like the bombil and bangda fish in this option.
another delicious dish that i tried this time was the prawns green fry. if you like prawns, then do not miss this one.
of course, the fish thalis here are great but if you like to try something different then do try the prawns khichdi, i am particularly a huge fan of this dish.
overall, the new outlet is pretty good. the food was fresh, the service was quick and up to the mark. i will definitely visit this restaurant again.

i definitely didn't want to miss the opening offer from 16th to 19th march on their signature fish thali!!
we had two surmai thali which came with a big size surmai fry, prawns curry, bangda curry, sukat chutney, cauliflower pickle, solkadi, tival ,riceand 3 chapatis.
•the fish was extremely fresh & crisp.
•both the curry were prepared differently.
•the prawns size in the curry was impressive.
•i was totally in love with the tival❤..
all together a very nice experience!!
