one of the bestesssst fish thali i have ever had. the food was delicious. we tried out tisrya thali. the fish was perfectly fried.prawnscurry and kharwas was the highlight. would surely visit again. must visit

first we went to law college road and had an awesome experience whereprawnsalu wadi was complemented and the experience was great

taste = 5 star

second visit i took my mom and she has a detailed eye on how food is cooked and her verdict was "awesome" which i think justify the quality taste which is given

third visit was with brother and we ordered special fish thali, which had pomfret, surmai fryprawnscurry , goan curry the whole thali was awesome
this was suggested by owner himself and it was a right call the whole experience was just full of taste ....!!

owner mr. joshi at sadashiv pet fish curry rice was humble and gave us kharwas as a complementary which was made of jaggery as shown in the pic

the owner is very friendly. he will help you with selecting good dishes according to your palette. sea food was very fresh.prawnsfry and kharwas was very yummy. cherry on top is the hospitality of the staff and owner. love this place

first off, it's a cosy, homely place in a vintage structure. it has ample seating on two floors. we sat on the ground floor, close to the kitchen.

as soon as we were seated, we were given a bowl each of tival. it was welcoming and tasty. for lunch, my family orderedprawnsgreen fry and surmai goan curry. they were very happy with both. theprawnsdisappeared at a worrying speed. 😅 the surmai was very fresh and well cooked. it had a great texture. the goan curry was moderately spiced and paired well with rice. my husband does not like too much spice in his fish; he likes to enjoy its texture, so the curry suited him just fine.

in my vegetarian thali, almost all dishes were yum. please see pic for the contents. the rice bhakri was to live for. only the dal could be tastier.

solkadhi was refreshing. not too sweet, not too garlicky. just right. ✅

overall, a good place. my family will go again and so will i. :)

had orderedprawnsrice the portion was very less for the price they quoted , for one person also quantity was very less served .
also had ordered stuffed pompfret was 630rs but was good in taste and again portion and quantity wise not recommended.

i asked for extra chutney but not provided very rude reply, three items and and 2 chutney packets, less quantity ofprawnscompare to in restaurant dont understand wat

want to have a glimpse of konkan, then must visit this place.

had heavenly maharashtrian malwani seafood after ages.

ambience -
its a 2 storey wada converted into this lovely restaurant. it has got:
1) outdoor seating - it is a garden area with the boards of famous marathi नाटक प्रयोग
2) ground floor - amazing fresh decor with comfortable seating for small groups.
3) 1st floor - it is huge and has got sections for large groups too.
extremely refreshing ambience, they have put photo frames of greatest marathi actors from films and theaters. it gives you the ride to rich marathi film industry.

service - i loved their hospitality and quick service. staff helps you to select dishes from their wide menu that suits your taste buds.

food -
where do i start from? because every dish that we tried, gave us a mesmerizing experience.

1) crab masala -
typical malwani preparation in red gravy. tried crabs after years. it was medium spicy and crab size large. must try.

2) bombil (bombay duck) thecha fry
what an unique preparation. thecha was stuffed in bombil and it was rava fried. therefore it was crispy from outside and bombil inside literally melted in the mouth. highly recommended

3) surmai (seer fish) masala fry
one of my favorite fish dish. surmai was huge and luscious. masala was apt and it was perfectly marinated and fried. it had lingering taste.

4) stuffed pomfret/paplet -
entire large sized pomfret stuffed with garlic and green konkani masala and was rava fry. taste was captivating and fish was fresh.

5)prawnsfry -
prawns were medium size. it was rava fry and starter which vanished (ate it) in seconds as it was so scrumptious. portions could have been better.

6) thali - they have wide range of thalis with option of pomfret/surmai/bombil/bangda/prawns. go for any thali of your choice, you wont be disappointed at all.

7) tival and solkadhi
don't forget to try these appetizers which were refreshing and captivating.

highly recommended place. one of the best and authentic seafood is served here. overall had a fabulous experience

1 star less for poor packaging. better packaging will make it a preferred restaurant. also,prawnsrice is just average.

worst fish thali ever had ... no green chutney no lemon ... pompret curry was just water without taste....prawnscurry had gravy of paneer .... pompret fry had foul smell.....
i am regular customer of fish curry rice since last 3 year when it was a sb road
now the quality has become worst please stop fooling customers

ordered forprawnstawa masala and receivedprawnsfry instead! would have been polite to inform the same as we could have ordered for something similar to tawa masala!

the new outlet of fish curry rice on tilak road gives you a very warm maharashtrian home kind of a feel the moment you enter. the reason being that it is opened in an old home (a wada in fact) which has been converted into a restaurant. you can still find the old doors, heavy latches, and staircase of old times intact. though the seating area is modest, it has outdoor seating, indoor seating on the ground floor and first floor, a separate terrace seating just for two, and also a section dedicated for big groups.
when it comes to seafood, fish curry rice is one of my favorite restaurant in town.
my favourites here are the thecha stuffed fried fish. i especially like the bombil and bangda fish in this option.
another delicious dish that i tried this time was theprawnsgreen fry. if you like prawns, then do not miss this one.
of course, the fish thalis here are great but if you like to try something different then do try theprawnskhichdi, i am particularly a huge fan of this dish.
overall, the new outlet is pretty good. the food was fresh, the service was quick and up to the mark. i will definitely visit this restaurant again.

i definitely didn't want to miss the opening offer from 16th to 19th march on their signature fish thali!!
we had two surmai thali which came with a big size surmai fry,prawnscurry, bangda curry, sukat chutney, cauliflower pickle, solkadi, tival , rice and 3 chapatis.
•the fish was extremely fresh & crisp.
•both the curry were prepared differently.
•theprawnssize in the curry was impressive.
•i was totally in love with the tival❤..

classy ambience, exquisite, tasty, mouth watering food, excellent management, friendly staff.. what else do you except from a restaurant?!
this place is an epitome of what we call epic !

what’s best of all that i had for dinner here?? ummm.. the bangda fry, greenprawnsfry and crab masala were out of the world .. the sol kadhi and tikhla .. woooow!! i am still drooling!!
thank you guys .. i’m going to be a frequent diner at fcr tilak road for sure !!!
