excellent. i dined here again onthe evening of may 27th. it was crowded but manageable.

i always have a dozen raw oysters on the half shell and did so this night despite the oil leak in the gulf. they were large and delicious. i hope and pray that the oil leak will not deny me the pleasure of raw oysters in the future.

the crab bisque was thick & flavoerful. a lot of crab meat was floating in the bisque and it had a very aromatic quality that just made the taste even better.

my main course was blackened catfish and shrimp. as in the past it was perfectly done. this time however the catfish filet was a bit on the smallish (perch) size and i hope this is not an indicator of things to come with portion sizes.

not my first time here and certainly not my last. keep up the good work.

ordered fish and chips to go. the fish (allegedly) was nicely crusted with mush inside. totally nasty. the waffle fries were soggy too! tried to feed it to my dogs who eat everything. turned their nose up at it. won’t review my wife’s meal. not at nice. bad, totally bad food. improve or go out of business!

it's not surprising to see that most of the negative reviews are by people who have few reviews or mostly negative reviews. do they never visit a place that has great food and service like fish city grill or are they just "negative nannies?" and some reviews talk about "expensive" food. have they ever been to landry's or pappadeaux? fish city grill continues to provide very fresh seafood at reasonable prices. i like the daily specials on the chalkboard that highlight the creativity of the chef and i often try them, even though they are more "expensive" than fish and chips. if you want "cheap" then go to long john silvers,

on this occasion i started with the cream of jalapeno soup. always delicious and not too spicy. we tried the crab cake for an appetizer and it's not cheap, but that's because it's made with crab, not krab like many places. very tasty. the herb crusted cod oscar caught my eye this time. topped with a little blue crab and hollandaise, served with asparagus and roasted red potatoes. the fish was moist, the asparagus was small and tender, and the red potatoes were fresh.

emily did a great job taking care of us.

don’t know why they call this place fish city grill when its name is half shells. anyway, another excellent meal. ate ~6:00 pm on a saturday evening. party of 6 seated promptly at a good large table. don’t get there much later because it filled soon. quick service - had fresh blue point oysters, hot crab bisque. reasonable prices. not too loud to visit.

this was our 5th or 6th visit to fish city. we do love their food. last night however was a huge disappointment. as soon as we were seated, we mentioned to our waitress that it was too breezy in the restaurant. the fans, all of them, were operating at high speed, the napkins blew off the table, our hair was even blowing. we knew that the food would be cold fast once it arrived. we asked if anything could be done. she said no, the fans were everywhere and the napkins on everyone's tables were blowing around. we almost left but decided to bare it. mistake. we were so cold by the time we left. our food cooled quickly. fish and chips are not good when they are cold. since no effort for our comfort and the comfort of other customers was made, we have decided to take our dining dollars to other establishments.

i have never frequented the former location of fish city grill but from the looks of the reviews more than just the address changed when they moved. the service was good thou it did seem like they were over staffed, three or four at the door, servers huddled around what appeared to be a manager.

the food was better than average. the trout, salmon and calamari were well seasoned and prepared nicely thou the trout was on the grill a hair too long. i was most impressed with the oyster menu. i haven't seen four distinct varieties to choose from at any oyster bar let alone a seafood chain. fcg doesn't feel like a chain, that's a very high compliment.

this place is amazing and has never let me down to provide great food and great service.  the oysters are always briny and delicious.  the oyster nacho's were simply amazing topped with a fried oyster, chipotle tartar sauce and fresh pico de gallo. the wife and i have ordered the alaskan snow crab & shrimp boil for two on many occasions.  it comes on a giant plate with crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob and andouille sausage, it's a fun date night meal if you like shellfish. don't forget they have a complete bar!

oh yeah...i'll be back. great staff -friendly and informative. the blackened crawfish po'boy was great, served on a perfectly ovened baguette. many places in louisiana get this wrong. kudos to fcg. while this version of a po'boy has been chained, it was done so delectably! fish 'n chips were great -almost. fries came out a little wimpy and less than "hot out of the grease" temp, but our waiter made it right. another kudo. i really wish they had real chips....leftover batter from fried fish, but the hush puppies made it worthwhile. this place is fun, food is good. need to come here and try an adult beverage or two. you gotta try their dessert. just drool on my pic.

we have eaten at fish city many times, but this was our first time at the new location. my husband and i chose to try the new spot out for date night, and it did not disappoint! honestly, it may have been our best trip to fish city to date. i love the ambiance of the new location! having lived on the gulf for a summer in my early 20's, it immediately gave me that coastal fish shack vibe, and i meant shack in a positive way....nothing run down about it! it seemed there were more specials than i recall in the past, and the new specials board is huge, as well as a second board just for oyster options. we started out with oysters and were tickled! they were excellent! we had the gulf band oysters, but also had the opportunity to try one each of the other oysters on the menu, as well as one that will soon be featured called the sting ray. my husband tried the sting ray and said it was his favorite, with the gulf band a close second. next date night, we will be back to get a dozen of each!  we were pleased there were craft beers on tap, nice to see most places do now a days. there is a full bar, specialty cocktails, and wines beyond just house wines. they have a great happy hour special too, you wouldn't want to miss that. the service really stood out...and it always has. i have only had service that wasn't stand out once, though. fish city truly hires excellent servers, and brandon is no exception. he was always there the moment we needed, but never hovered. he was humorous and very informative! he really made the experience extra special. for dinner, we had crawfish, which is exactly what we came for. they have 4 seasoning options, or you can have them without. i had nitro, which was delicious, and my husband had hair on fire. my husband is a chef and he said it was one of the best flavors in a boil he has ever had. the only complaint (which isn't really a complaint) we could have is we wish there had been 2-3 potatoes with them instead one. that may sound silly, but that one potato was just that good! the corn was delicious. overall experience was clearly wonderful and we will be back soon!
