excellent. i dined here again onthe evening of may 27th. it was crowded but manageable.

i always have a dozen raw oysters on the half shell and did so this night despite the oil leak in the gulf. they were large and delicious. i hope and pray that the oil leak will not deny me the pleasure of raw oysters in the future.

the crab bisque was thick & flavoerful. a lot of crab meat was floating in the bisque and it had a very aromatic quality that just made the taste even better.

my main course was blackened catfish and shrimp. as in the past it was perfectly done. this time however the catfish filet was a bit on the smallish (perch) size and i hope this is not an indicator of things to come with portion sizes.

not my first time here and certainly not my last. keep up thegoodwork.

don’t know why they call this place fish city grill when its name is half shells. anyway, another excellent meal. ate ~6:00 pm on a saturday evening. party of 6 seated promptly at agoodlarge table. don’t get there much later because it filled soon. quick service - had fresh blue point oysters, hot crab bisque. reasonable prices. not too loud to visit.

this was our 5th or 6th visit to fish city. we do love their food. last night however was a huge disappointment. as soon as we were seated, we mentioned to our waitress that it was too breezy in the restaurant. the fans, all of them, were operating at high speed, the napkins blew off the table, our hair was even blowing. we knew that the food would be cold fast once it arrived. we asked if anything could be done. she said no, the fans were everywhere and the napkins on everyone's tables were blowing around. we almost left but decided to bare it. mistake. we were so cold by the time we left. our food cooled quickly. fish and chips are notgoodwhen they are cold. since no effort for our comfort and the comfort of other customers was made, we have decided to take our dining dollars to other establishments.

i have never frequented the former location of fish city grill but from the looks of the reviews more than just the address changed when they moved. the service wasgoodthou it did seem like they were over staffed, three or four at the door, servers huddled around what appeared to be a manager.

the food was better than average. the trout, salmon and calamari were well seasoned and prepared nicely thou the trout was on the grill a hair too long. i was most impressed with the oyster menu. i haven't seen four distinct varieties to choose from at any oyster bar let alone a seafood chain. fcg doesn't feel like a chain, that's a very high compliment.

we both love oysters on the half shell and are always on the look out for anywhere that serves them fresh and tasty. fish city grill was recommended so we had to try it. we've been here twice because you can't honestly judge a place on one try. everything we've ordered has been okay. not fantastic and not bad but okay. it's very clean and the waitstaff are friendly as well as attentive. however, oysters need to be cared for. perhaps it's been luck of the draw...i have no idea but i couldn't ingoodconscience recommend oysters on the half shell from this restaurant. when you can pick one up and know before it touches your lips that it's ruined, there's a problem. i would like to say, the waitress has been more than kind and immediately doing everything possible to make amends, even though it isn't her fault. it's just really hard after having that particular odor hit your nose and enter your mouth, to even take another bite much less try to eat more oysters. two times is the charm for me. the other food is okay but no oysters. so sad...

have not visited this little seafood gem in over a year but took a group of seven adults here tonight. we were seated immediately and quickly gave our drink orders. the menu is shorter than we remember, mostly seafood items with burgers, chicken sandwiches and a steak offering; there are still fresh/specials on the blackboard. we had clam chowder, fried pickles and oyster nachos as appetizers, they were all delicious and nicely presented. our entrees were the blackened seafood platter, shrimp and oysters, fish and chips, chipotle fish tacos, the fresh horseradish encrusted salmon special, catfish platter and oysters. everything was hot, prepared simply and excellent. there were no leftovers from our seven plates! substitutions off the menu, such as grits for waffle fries or salad for the cole slaw were handled with courtesy and grace. service was attentive without being too close or familiar. it was a bit pricey: our check for three entrees, a cup of chowder, fried pickles and one beer was $72 without the tip. we also shared beignets for dessert but while they were straight out of the fryer they were greasy and not particularly memorable. we will skip the beignets next time but certainly we will go back more often forgoodseafood and great service!

what a disappointment. gumbo had one shrimp and flecks of sausage and chicken. grilled swordfish was poached, then scared by the grill to create the faintest of marks. no seasoning. i eat very little salt and rarely need to salt anything...not today. garlic wilted spinach was good. tender, hot, bright green and not overdone, with enough garlic slivers to taste but not dominate. but grilled veggies? steamed, bland, not overdone, but no personality or imagination. russell at bar was nice and did card an underage kid.goodcall, russ. but the food?? bad call. boring.

don't order the bogus crawfish. the crawfish are not boiled in the seasoning, it is added after boiling, once you taste them you will instantly know you've been had. would be nice to know this up front. over priced for the overallgoodquality. very touristy atmosphere.

one of the best. my boyfriend and i stopped by because we were craving seafood and it was the best decision we have ever made. our calamari appetizer was sogoodand was gone in 2 minutes. the service was fast and our waiter never let our water drop past half empty. the fish and shrimp were probably the best we have ever had. the prices are also pretty reasonable. we will definetely come back soon.

went there this evening. ordered 6 blue point oysters, fried pickles, and a crab and shrimp boil for two. the boil did not have any seasoning and cost $10 more than where we usually eat, and was same portion as for one person there. i don't think the shrimp was cooked thoroughly because it was a little mushy. the oysters were the onlygoodthing we had. also their plates left a mildew smell on our hands that we can't get rid of.

we do enjoy this great little seafood place!. date: 7 nov 2014, tonight we wanted to stretch out for some seafood. we don't visit this place all that often but when we do we really enjoy the grub. we have found fish city grill to be consistent on great service, meal specials, and tasty fresh seafood. the evening began by elyse (waitress) sharing the meals of the day organized by manager/chef chris. the staff prepared a wonderful meal for us to include steamed oysters, house salad, claim chowder, and two delicious salmon entrees. the crew sure can serve up some tasty flavored food...we were definitely pleased with the flavor of our entire meal. thanks to the fish city team for performing so well on this evening...hat's off to manager carlos hernandez, waitress elyse, cooking team roberto, alex, jose', and louis for a well prepared meal. we will sleep well tonight.

outstanding!!!goodgosh...crab, crab, crab. all you can eat--crab!. 26 may 14. on this evening we decided to hit this restaurant for "all you can eat crab legs." wow, the crab was outstanding! the flavor of the crab meat was sweet all the way through. most restaurants have a hard time cooking crab requiring one to use a dipping sauce or melted butter. the wait staff and kitchen kept the crab coming with no delays. we often visit this restaurant and have found it to be quite consistent with food quality delivering a wide range of food choices to consider. i would highly recommend this place to bring friends and family to enjoy a wonderful reasonable meal. the staff no doubt has it's act together cooking and serving. thanks again fish city grill crew (chris hillhouse-general manager and waiter-scott) for serving up us another great evening meal.

awesome seafood and service. 23 oct 11. this restaurant can sure cook up some great seafood. the service and food choices made for a wonderful experience. the staff (chris hillhouse-general manager, chef john, and waiter pablo) went out of their way to serve up a superb meal. the staff prepared steamed oysters even though this option was not listed on their menu. the meals we ordered consisted of steamed oysters, oyster nachos, claim chowder, gumbo, salmon, and shrimp prepared in several different ways. the desserts were quite tasty...so be sure to leave some room to enjoy a bit of fish city grill sweetness. we will return some day soon as this place is sure to be a local favorite for many. thanks fish city grill crew for serving up a great meal with attentive service.
