very knowledgable staff and great, fresh specials. we went there for dinner on taco tuesday and it was very empty and i don't know why! this place has some amazing menu items. i suggest the friedoysternachos - if you've never had oysters it will be a great first time experience. i also suggest anything they have on their main board because it changes daily depending on what is most fresh. if i lived in the area i would go back again and again.

i have never frequented the former location of fish city grill but from the looks of the reviews more than just the address changed when they moved. the service was good thou it did seem like they were over staffed, three or four at the door, servers huddled around what appeared to be a manager.

the food was better than average. the trout, salmon and calamari were well seasoned and prepared nicely thou the trout was on the grill a hair too long. i was most impressed with theoystermenu. i haven't seen four distinct varieties to choose from at anyoysterbar let alone a seafood chain. fcg doesn't feel like a chain, that's a very high compliment.

this place is amazing and has never let me down to provide great food and great service.  the oysters are always briny and delicious.  theoysternacho's were simply amazing topped with a fried oyster, chipotle tartar sauce and fresh pico de gallo. the wife and i have ordered the alaskan snow crab & shrimp boil for two on many occasions.  it comes on a giant plate with crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob and andouille sausage, it's a fun date night meal if you like shellfish. don't forget they have a complete bar!

we have eaten at fish city many times, but this was our first time at the new location. my husband and i chose to try the new spot out for date night, and it did not disappoint! honestly, it may have been our best trip to fish city to date. i love the ambiance of the new location! having lived on the gulf for a summer in my early 20's, it immediately gave me that coastal fish shack vibe, and i meant shack in a positive way....nothing run down about it! it seemed there were more specials than i recall in the past, and the new specials board is huge, as well as a second board just foroysteroptions. we started out with oysters and were tickled! they were excellent! we had the gulf band oysters, but also had the opportunity to try one each of the other oysters on the menu, as well as one that will soon be featured called the sting ray. my husband tried the sting ray and said it was his favorite, with the gulf band a close second. next date night, we will be back to get a dozen of each!  we were pleased there were craft beers on tap, nice to see most places do now a days. there is a full bar, specialty cocktails, and wines beyond just house wines. they have a great happy hour special too, you wouldn't want to miss that. the service really stood out...and it always has. i have only had service that wasn't stand out once, though. fish city truly hires excellent servers, and brandon is no exception. he was always there the moment we needed, but never hovered. he was humorous and very informative! he really made the experience extra special. for dinner, we had crawfish, which is exactly what we came for. they have 4 seasoning options, or you can have them without. i had nitro, which was delicious, and my husband had hair on fire. my husband is a chef and he said it was one of the best flavors in a boil he has ever had. the only complaint (which isn't really a complaint) we could have is we wish there had been 2-3 potatoes with them instead one. that may sound silly, but that one potato was just that good! the corn was delicious. overall experience was clearly wonderful and we will be back soon!

great seafood! this was me, my wife and kids first visit. and since this was our first time, we given a small sampler of there soups and anoysternacho. they were all very good. our orders were all good as well fish tacos, crab cake, grilled chicken and red/beans and rice. the rice was a little undercooked, but the wait staff brought out another order. i will definitely be bringing my family back.

first visit to fish city and we enjoyed the nicely appointed, small little spot with fast and friendly service and good, fresh seafood. the highlight was definitely theoysternachos! oyster-haters are as likely to enjoy these as oyster-lovers. they start with a yellow corn chip and top with a cajun mayo then crispy friedoysterand garnished with fresh pico de gallo. i only wished there were more than 6 as i could make a meal out of an entire plate of these. the breading is flavorful and the oysters are not at all briny, the pico is a great contrast to the spice of the sauce, and you can still top with a little hot sauce from the table. we also tried the crab bisque and gumbo, of which, i prefer the gumbo, and finished with a snow crab and shrimp boil that included 4-5 set of crab legs, 12-15 shrimp plus corn on the cobb, red potatoes and andouille. i will definitely be returning - especially for theoysternachos!

have not visited this little seafood gem in over a year but took a group of seven adults here tonight. we were seated immediately and quickly gave our drink orders. the menu is shorter than we remember, mostly seafood items with burgers, chicken sandwiches and a steak offering; there are still fresh/specials on the blackboard. we had clam chowder, fried pickles andoysternachos as appetizers, they were all delicious and nicely presented. our entrees were the blackened seafood platter, shrimp and oysters, fish and chips, chipotle fish tacos, the fresh horseradish encrusted salmon special, catfish platter and oysters. everything was hot, prepared simply and excellent. there were no leftovers from our seven plates! substitutions off the menu, such as grits for waffle fries or salad for the cole slaw were handled with courtesy and grace. service was attentive without being too close or familiar. it was a bit pricey: our check for three entrees, a cup of chowder, fried pickles and one beer was $72 without the tip. we also shared beignets for dessert but while they were straight out of the fryer they were greasy and not particularly memorable. we will skip the beignets next time but certainly we will go back more often for good seafood and great service!

we do enjoy this great little seafood place!. date: 7 nov 2014, tonight we wanted to stretch out for some seafood. we don't visit this place all that often but when we do we really enjoy the grub. we have found fish city grill to be consistent on great service, meal specials, and tasty fresh seafood. the evening began by elyse (waitress) sharing the meals of the day organized by manager/chef chris. the staff prepared a wonderful meal for us to include steamed oysters, house salad, claim chowder, and two delicious salmon entrees. the crew sure can serve up some tasty flavored food...we were definitely pleased with the flavor of our entire meal. thanks to the fish city team for performing so well on this evening...hat's off to manager carlos hernandez, waitress elyse, cooking team roberto, alex, jose', and louis for a well prepared meal. we will sleep well tonight.

outstanding!!! good gosh...crab, crab, crab. all you can eat--crab!. 26 may 14. on this evening we decided to hit this restaurant for "all you can eat crab legs." wow, the crab was outstanding! the flavor of the crab meat was sweet all the way through. most restaurants have a hard time cooking crab requiring one to use a dipping sauce or melted butter. the wait staff and kitchen kept the crab coming with no delays. we often visit this restaurant and have found it to be quite consistent with food quality delivering a wide range of food choices to consider. i would highly recommend this place to bring friends and family to enjoy a wonderful reasonable meal. the staff no doubt has it's act together cooking and serving. thanks again fish city grill crew (chris hillhouse-general manager and waiter-scott) for serving up us another great evening meal.

awesome seafood and service. 23 oct 11. this restaurant can sure cook up some great seafood. the service and food choices made for a wonderful experience. the staff (chris hillhouse-general manager, chef john, and waiter pablo) went out of their way to serve up a superb meal. the staff prepared steamed oysters even though this option was not listed on their menu. the meals we ordered consisted of steamed oysters, oysternachos, claim chowder, gumbo, salmon, and shrimp prepared in several different ways. the desserts were quite tasty...so be sure to leave some room to enjoy a bit of fish city grill sweetness. we will return some day soon as this place is sure to be a local favorite for many. thanks fish city grill crew for serving up a great meal with attentive service.
