i first found fido 4 years ago on the advice of a chef friend who lived innashvillefor a while. fish tacos to die for. great coffee. neighborhood feel. i have returned every year and it does not disappoint. i am headed there at this very moment as my firstnashvillestop on my drive from maine.

first impression:  large space with ample seating.  the place gets a bit crowded, but it adds to the quirky atmosphere. tips:   taco the tortas!  (see photos) overall experience:  b  i'm not anashvilleresident, but i do enjoying visiting my friend sarra and dining at some of her favorite spots. i have visited fido twice now, once this past summer and today, and on both occasions, i thought the food was great but a bit under-seasoned.  the ingredients taste fresh and the portions are just right.  i think the food is prepared and presented well...it's just lacking some depth or richness in flavor. i ordered pete's breakfast torta this time around, and it was definitely more delicious than what i got last time...the portobello and eggplant sandwich.  the sandwich was cold and the flavors didn't seem to meld together very well.  the torta, on the other hand, was super yummy, but i wasn't entirely sure how to eat it so i made it into tacos.  it looked more appetizing to me this way. i also tried their latte today and it was really nice.  it was light, frothy, and not too strong, so i wasn't left a jittery mess. overall, i would eat here again.  it's high-quality food that is reasonably priced.  can't go wrong with that.

i love you fido. i love fido. this is the best kept secret innashvillefor yummy dinner. always always good, fresh, inventive, local and, if you like, pretty healty. and the salted caramel ice cream at hot and cold kills me its so good.

great experience!. i was in town on 3/18 with my eight year old daughter to catch the fsu vs. cincinatti basketball game(ncaa tourney). this place gets it! the atmosphere and vibe were great, service outstanding and most important, the food was excellent! i chose the daily special which was a simple eggs benedict and my daughter ordered the whole grain chocolate chip pancakes. my benedict was cooked to perfection and my daughters pancakes were some of the best we've ever had(she is quite the pancake afficienado). the side of bacon was also top notch and the house roasted coffee was superb. this is the type of place i would love to open up if i could...well done fido! if you live innashvilleor are just traveling through do yourself a favor and stop by.

best burger in town - at a coffee shop?. it has become so time consuming to wait for brunch or lunch at fido on weekends that i finally resorted to having dinner at fido. wow, i'm glad i did!

fido had a beef/lamb burger as a special. it was the best burger i've had in nashville. it was so good that i went back for a second one the next night. i can't remember exactly what topped the burger, but i know it included caramelized onions and some type of cheese with a bit of a kick (maybe goat cheese?).

the new, fancy burger joints innashvilleought to take a lesson from this coffee shop!

my daughter had the huevos cubano and i had the salmon scramble. i am pretty certain that she loved it because she ate it in record time. lol. my salmon was fantastic. the line was long on a sunday afternoon but it was worth it. seeing as i will be innashvillemany times for the next 4 years while she is in college there, i am certain to return.

innashvilleafter christmas and am now taking the time to say this is a great restaurant. loved the industrial feel.
great breakfast. would have been annoyed if couldn't get a table because lots of people using restaurant as a work space. definitely worth a visit.

catfish tacos. if you love fish tacos, some of the best innashvillecan be found in a most unlikely place. fido is so much more than just the richest coffee house, the food at dinner and lunch has been consistantly some of the best we have found. the catfish is lightly fried and then wrapped in a soft taco, enhanced by avocado and homemade salsa.
