cool atmosphere, good food, good drinks. glad we stopped.

what a great place! the atmosphere is really fun, and i must recommend the eden salad. options for lots of dietary restrictions (i'm vegetarian and my dad is paleo, plenty of choices for us). not too crowded, but that may be because vandebilt classes weren't in session when we visited.

located in hillsboro village, fido is the preeminent college coffee hangout. owned by the team at bongo java and situated in a an old pet store, fido offers quality coffee, decent food and a good atmosphere to hang out and work in (at least until they shut the wifi off). when i lived across the river i was a fixture at fido for brunch and during late afternoon work/study sessions. it's been a long time since i've been back for dinner since becoming and east-sider, so we headed over one night before a belcourt movie. inside, fido is clean, spacious and comfortable. lots of dark wood tones and low lighting make the room cozy, if not dark at times. since expanding, there are lots of tables available and when we went for dinner we had quite a few seating options. i will say that since this is a college hangout the demographic skews very young. something about young blonde belmont and vanderbilt students talking about biology class made me feel really old. but my favorite part of fido is th

i first found fido 4 years ago on the advice of a chef friend who lived in nashville for a while. fish tacos to die for. great coffee. neighborhood feel. i have returned every year and it does not disappoint. i am headed there at this very moment as my first nashville stop on my drive from maine.

my husband and i decided to try fido for breakfast this morning after seeing all the good reviews. we arrived about 10:45 parked in back and got right in. at fido you go to the counter to order and they bring out your food. my husband got the chorizo and eggs breakfast($10) which came with tortillas and hash browns as well as sour cream and salsa. i chose the steak and eggs scramble without the onion. my breakfast was $11 and came with hash browns and a piece of toast. we also got a chocolate biscotti and an orange cranberry scone. i waited on our drinks while my husband found us a table. we tried the biscotti while we waited on our meals. the biscotti was excellent and is made in house. our breakfasts came out surprisingly quick, both were very good. my eggs had fresh spinach and gouda cheese and the hash brown were hand cut. fido is eco friendly and uses paper straws. we were full so we took the scone to go.

the line was long but the service was fast. i had the bbq sammy. if was lacking a sauce. somewhat dry but the overall texture was pretty good. came with some chicken soup that had more onions than chicken. with some hot sauce it got a lot better. i would give my first experience there a 3.6 but believe other items could be better.

amazing breakfast! it exceeded my expectations! probably in the top 2 breakfast places i’ve ever been to. definitely worth stopping, even if there’s a wait!!

i love fido's and so does my family. my favs-breakfast all day and the eden salad.  if eggs benedict is the daily special, i'm all over that. it does have quite the wait sometimes, but the food is delicious.

this is one of our favorite places in nashville. coffee and speciality coffee drinks are right on. food is always well prepared. be sure to order local sausage with any breakfast. we appreciate their gluten-free options. it is a college town coffee shop, so it’s perfect place to get the feel of the area. i would’ve given them 5.0, but there is a $1 request for a coffee refill.

nice coffee and sandwich place. cool vibe. in the middle of pedestrian-friendly hillsboro village. we had grilled cheddar & ham sandwich - excellent. also salads - one with salmon, the other with flank steak. the flank steak was particularly good. on the weaker side - slow service and average tasting cakes/dessert.

wonderful fresh breakfast plates! very filling and chalk full of flavor. the staff is incredibly friendly. great local business to support in an adorable neighborhood. bring fido and sit outside🐕

great food and atmosphere. recommend local burger, braised beef sandwich and pasta with pesto and portobello mushrooms are highly recommended. fries were amazing

long wait, small portion, expensive. on the flip side, it was tasty and i enjoyed the vibe/atmosphere. i just hated leaving broke and hungry.

cozy place to hang out on a cold day. haven't tried the breakfast yet but lunch is always filling and delicious!! service is friendly also. it can get busy and at times hard to find a table. so it may not be a quick option for lunch.

great place. favorite in nashville. $1 coffee refill is annoying. zomata on the other hand is really annoying with the 140 character review minimum.
