located in hillsboro village, fido is the preeminent collegecoffeehangout. owned by the team at bongo java and situated in a an old pet store, fido offers quality coffee, decent food and a good atmosphere to hang out and work in (at least until they shut the wifi off). when i lived across the river i was a fixture at fido for brunch and during late afternoon work/study sessions. it's been a long time since i've been back for dinner since becoming and east-sider, so we headed over one night before a belcourt movie. inside, fido is clean, spacious and comfortable. lots of dark wood tones and low lighting make the room cozy, if not dark at times. since expanding, there are lots of tables available and when we went for dinner we had quite a few seating options. i will say that since this is a college hangout the demographic skews very young. something about young blonde belmont and vanderbilt students talking about biology class made me feel really old. but my favorite part of fido is th

this is one of our favorite places in nashville.coffeeand specialitycoffeedrinks are right on. food is always well prepared. be sure to order local sausage with any breakfast. we appreciate their gluten-free options. it is a college towncoffeeshop, so it’s perfect place to get the feel of the area. i would’ve given them 5.0, but there is a $1 request for acoffeerefill.

nicecoffeeand sandwich place. cool vibe. in the middle of pedestrian-friendly hillsboro village. we had grilled cheddar & ham sandwich - excellent. also salads - one with salmon, the other with flank steak. the flank steak was particularly good. on the weaker side - slow service and average tasting cakes/dessert.

fido a trendycoffeeshop with great food! theircoffeehas great flavor and with a talented barista behind the counter expect some artwork on the top of your latte! the beef brisket sandwich is excellent and came with amazing fries! my girlfriend got the veggie option which was a portobello, roasted red pepper sandwich. she had nothing but good things to say about the sandwich. overall it was well worth the stop and if we didn't live far away we definitely would be going back.

good food just be careful if you want internet...they shut it down when busy.. i love that they have good vegetarian options for breakfast. it is wonderful to sit at the window and study and enjoy a good cup ofcoffeeand a breakfast that is reasonably priced and tastes great.

overhyped and a waste of time. i walked to fido from my hotel in order to do work. had i but known i would be wasting over an hour. when i walked in there was about a 2 minute line and though it was busy, the space is huge so there were plenty of seats. i was informed after ordering that the wifi was turned off during busy times. i asked when it would be back on and was informed that it probably wouldn't be on until at least 5pm. i was incredulous, but also hungry for lunch, and after reading reviews suggestion the fish tacos, i thought i could get a quick lunch. talk about adding injury to insult. the fish tacos were, to put it mildly, gross. they were greasy, the tortillas turned to glue in my mouth, and there was more avocado than anything else which basically meant that the taco tasted like gluey avocado that squirted grease with every bite. i couldn't take more than one bite of it. i had also, sadly, ordered sweet potato fries. these arrived cold, soggy, and inedible. they were clearly cooked because raw sweet potato would at least crunch, but these simply squished grease. thecoffeewas average. in order to actually do my work, i had to go to the starbucks down the street (another 30 minute walk) and their pumpkin spice latte is better. it's a sad day when you can say that about a localcoffeeshop. i cannot understand why people think this is a good place to go. it's unfriendly to people who want to sit in acoffeeshop and do work, and the food is just bad.

long wait for saturday lunch but good food. this was some absolute kickass good food! but don't go during peak lunch hours on a saturday. we waited a long, long time to order, then another 15 minutes to get our food. don't stand in this line just for the coffee, but the food is worth it. did this instead of pancake pantry. if you want a lot of food, avoid the ham sandwich. my husband got it and the slices of ham were very thin! not enough food. the steak hash (i think this is the name of it) was great -- steak, eggs, onions, etc. taters, with salsa and sour cream.coffeewas good. didn't try dessert, but should have.

hands down the best breakfast place in town. the others in the area have insane lines out the door, but not fido. quick service, great food, and greatcoffeemake it a must visit. if they still have the sweet potato french toast, do yourself a favor and get it. possibly the best thing i've ever eaten.

i’ve been to fido many times, both before and since moving to nashville, and its always been an enjoyable experience. whether forcoffeeand to hang out, breakfast (the juevos rancheros and most all of the breakfast items are good), or lunch (soup and sandwiches or salads), the food andcoffeehave never let me down. but, for some reason it never occurred to me to review this “bongo java production” … until tonight. we decided to give fido a try for dinner tonight, as we wanted something quick, inexpensive, close by, and moderately healthy. i’ve never eaten dinner at fido before, i’ve always seen it as strictly a coffee/breakfast/lunch type of place. i’m glad that we decided to give it a try because i just ate one of the best burgers that i’ve had in a long time, maybe since i moved to nashville. i know what you’re thinking. yes, an amazing burger. from acoffeeshop. while all of the soups, sandwiches, and plates that fido serves f

i checked out fido near vanderbilt after seeing the massive line outside the pancake pantry. fido is a bongo javacoffeeshop that serves breakfast all day. it was a busy saturday with the florida-vanderbilt game. even with the booming business, the wait clocked in at about an hour.
