dallas was our last stop after a month of dining twice daily across the country.  as we were staying at the ritz, we booked in for dinner atfearing's- what a find !
the enthusiasm of the staff to ensure that our dining experience was excellent set the tone for the evening.  wait staff we hovering for any needs but never intrusive.  the menu choices were explained in detail, meals delivered in a very reasonable time and they exceeded expectation - i was adventurous enough to try the antelope which was very, very enjoyable and the experience made all the more rewarding with the chef coming to our table and explaining the cooking methods used.  portion sizes were generous and the quality of entree, main & desert was of the highest standard.
the wine choices were as good as we saw in the us, covering local and a wide range (variety, location and price) of imported wines.
what a great experience !

on occasion words cannot capture the flavors and nuisances of the moment. such was my introduction tofearing'sthis evening.
do not let any lackluster review discourage trying fearing's. the quality of food is superb and a special thanks to paul botamer the wine director for our special lesson in the dessert wines. my wife and i went for a special dinner but enjoyed an evening far more special that we had anticipated.
this is a new "must do" for us when we visit from okc. thanks to all the crew, jesus our primary waiter, paul and everyone else who made this a dining "experience", not just a fine meal.

staying at the ritz on valentines day was by far an exciting ordeal.
in addition to the ritz it was luck that w also got a table last minute intofearing'sbecause we went to happy hour for complimentary cocktails and hor devours. we enjoyed ourselves so much we camceled our reservation at the palm and decided to stay when abtable was offered.
the food was fantastic! the bisque, sea bass, and the french martinis were beyond expectations. a very swanky place as it reminded me of a future episode of "the real housewives of dallas". the highlight of the night was when chef fearing himself came to our table to ask us how we enjoyed our meal. he was very polite and quite friendly. the atmosphere of the restaurant would have been great but the crowd was odd. besides that the food was amazing, the drinks exciting, an the staff/management was very eager to make us happy.

an enjoyable experience. atmosphere and service are impeccable. interesting menu choices, and a vegetarian menu is available upon request. my vegetarian friend enjoyed her dish greatly, and i enjoyed my totally-not-vegetarian antelope as well. my only complaint is that the enchiladas that were served with it were a bit tough, and i felt that my dish was a little under-seasoned. a bit of salt did the trick -- which i find funny now after noticing other people's reviews, saying that their food was too salty. i guessfearing'scant seem to find the right balance of seasoning.

despite that, i would definitely come back again.

expensive but wonderful ~ take advantage of restaurant week. it was tuesday, august 18, 2009.fearing'swas very busy for a tuesday night but then again it was restaurant week. the menu although different from the normal menu was extensive for restaurant week. we were seated on time and the service was impeccable. i and my dinner guest both started with the tortilla soup which was out of this world. for my second course i dined on the braised short ribs w/ queso fresco corn whipped potatoes and crispy tobacco onions. the short ribs were already removed from bone and it fell apart as i used my fork to cut it. it was bursting with flavor and paired very well with the potatoes and onions. the suggested glass of cabernet was equally a good choice. the portion was much more than i could finish, thus lunch was taken care the following day. my guest dined on the "mopped" chicken breast. she mentioned the chicken was cooked perfect and in fact was the best chicken she had ever had dining out w/ the exception of the morton's chicken christopher which is a completely different way of preparing chicken. she too was unable to finish her mean thus her lunch was taken care of the following day too. we finished the evening off with the duo dessert (pound cake with strawberries and a chocolate soufflé of sorts) both were very good. although both desserts worth good the pound cake stood out as being exceptional. on a side note we viewed the wine list which appeared extensive. we are only interested in ca reds and found the list to be short and expensive. with that said, it the food was amazing and we would highly recommend it, in fact we will be returning soon.

best burger in dallas!. the atmosphere is first class! the service is great, just like everything in the ritz-carlton. i have many burgers in my life, and the one atfearing'sis the best i have ever had! also, the rib-eye and fried chicken are defiantly a reason to stop in.
