tucked away in the fancy hotel that is meydan, farriers is one of the few options that are offered at the grandest race track in dubai. farriers offers exceptional views outside for you to enjoy during the winter and you could still enjoy the restaurant during the summer, albeit only at night. the restaurants offer a greatviewof the entire race course and i am sure they offer a fantastic afternoon tea experience.

one of the top luxurious friday brunch we can enjoy here in the meydan hotel with the spectacularviewof horse racing field. the variety of food you can choose from is more varied than anywhere else you can find in dubai. seafood choices are just terrific!

i did not try anything that wasn’t absolutely perfectly made and delicious. theviewwas fabulous and the service was very good!

good buffet with lots of choices for arabic food. the plus points - the mixed grills were great and succulent. the service was good. i enjoyed the desserts especially the tarts and the umm ali as well as the black forest cake. there are limited vegetarian options in the main course and not as much variety for seafood lovers. theviewseated outside overlooks the racecourse and is lovely especially during the winters..

what we went for: unplanned lunch stop

ambience: set on the ground floor of the meydan hotel that is best known for hosting the dubai world cup, the restaurant has unparalleled views of the racecourse! the interiors are nice though without much character. the horseshoes stuck on the wall outside and the miniature temporary exhibition of the leaning tower of pisa just outside the restaurant and of course theviewof the racecourse would probably stick in my mind for longer!

what we ordered: while none of us had planned for it, we sort of had no option as we ended up at buffet-as it was quite late and our original lunch plans went downhill..

price: brilliant and unexpected!! thanks to the entertainer vouchers!! aed 400 for 8 pax including children!!

verdict: i can't write rave reviews, neither can i dismiss the food or service.. sort of meandered between very average and just average :)!

the arabic grills was great, so was the sticky date dessert. i helped myself to a nice cheese platter and that's my high point.

would i return? hmm, to watch a horse race, i think yes..just for the food-perhaps no!

late night decision to shoot down to the race track to watch some horse racing. once we were there, we decided to grab some food and chose the buffet as we had a discount voucher.

the place has a greatviewwith the race track on front. service was also very friendly. that is pretty much where it ended. the non-alcohol buffet was 270dhs or roughly $75 per person. for that price i expected some great food. we were unfortunately disappointed. the hot food line consisted of around 6 items and then a live cooking station. the salad bar was also very limited. several of the items were pretty good, but i thought overall the selection was limited and the food quality was probably below average in that price range.

while we enjoyed the horses, we did not enjoy this place. should have saved the money and sat on the terrace with a shisha.

i went to the meydan hotel for a stable tour and got to enjoy breakfast at the farriers restaurant. they have a good spread with lots of choices. the service was excellent

with a beautifulviewof the meydan race course,this restaurant offers buffet breakfast,lunch and dinner.however,being our staycation,we got to try the dinner and breakfast.
starting with breakfast,i was really impressed and happie with it as they have a good selection of dishes from international,arabic and asian cuisines.the food was a feast to the eyes and to the tummy!the dates smoothie,cheese croissant,pancake,waffle and sautéed mushrooms are a few dishes that were ooh-so-yummy!
over to dinner,we went on the day of eid and so their buffet had an indian theme.being a loyal indian food lover,i was waiting to lay my hands on the buffet.i first had a look at the spread..and i loved their selection.but unfortunately,the food was only feast to the eyes.it lacked the flavor and spice of usual indian cooking which made it a disappointment for me.i am guessing that they reduced the spice level on the whole so as to cater for the multi-national crowd at meydan so i can't conclude based on my experience alone as it maybe otherwise be good.i also say this as my cousins chose a la carte and they were happie with the food.
service is good and staff are friendly.
overall:i would love to go back again and have their breakfast as it is one of the best i have had.

the lunch buffet has a good array of salads, starters, continental and local cuisine and desserts.

there is a good balance of light snacks like sandwiches, pizza, quesadilla, fries, roast potatoes and mains like pepper steak, saffron halibut, chicken drumstick, arabic grills and pasta.

the desserts buffet also includes a good mix of arabic and international dessert.

excellentviewof racecourse. awesome staff, specially mohammed kitchilan, restaurant manager. excellent desserts, however food could be little more authentic indian.

family dinner, stunningviewof the race course, perfect ambience for a dinner date and food is out of the world. check with the hotel prior to arrival as the theme nights are on. we enjoyed the barbecue nights. try the fresh juices too (they are extra). staff is really friendly and extremely courteous.

farriers is an all day dining restaurant which is equine-themed with an international menu. as i proceeded towards the entrance of farriers i caught a quick glance of the brunch affair outside the restaurant, in the lobby area of the hotel which comprised of various live cooking stations. kids can play in a bouncy castle, do face painting or indulge in the strawberry fountain, all in an area dedicated only to them.the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere although the place was filling up fast. the decor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine; though beauty isn’t the only thing bringing people here. the table was meticulously set.i had manakish with za'atar and cheese, thai beef salad and smoked duck as an entrée. the manakish freshly prepared and warm and the salad and duck were delectable.my main course was assorted maki(avocado and cucumber wrapped in rice), prawn tempura, macaroni bechamel and a slice of roasted lamb leg. the macaroni was a big hit! you could taste the well -cooked macaroni with minced beef and béchamel sauce, topped with warm mozzarella cheese.for desserts, i had already tasted the chocolate fountain, one of the best i’ve tasted till now. also, i had the cheese cake which was velvety, rich and sweet.the crust was pretty hard though. profiteroles were as light as air, topped with chocolate and filled with a delicate fresh cream. i also tried the flourless chocolate cake, honey pistachio mousse cake, tiramisu, praline and honey mousse cake, malva pudding and chocolate macarons.the service was excellent .the polite and friendly staff assisted us from the reservations till we stepped out from the place.i highly recommend you to make yourself comfortable out on the terrace and enjoy the races as you get an excellentviewof the racecourse, dining whatever fancies you the most.

sumptuous fare, awesome desserts, live music, greatviewof the racecourse and play area for kids. can't ask for much more. will return for sure
