i get it, i get it, thisplaceis trying to be hip. alright, it is hip--however the food isn't. for the price, the portions are too small and for being "vegan/vegetarian' friendly that equals one dish of the day that is. don't like it? welp, you are out of luck. i can only justifying eating at thisplaceafter twilight concerts. do your self a favor, drive up to sawadee instead, man.

so yummy, love everything. this is just about the best surprise ever! i am a seattle transplant and had been looking for a great/cost effectiveplaceto satisfy my curry cravings. there is nothing but wonderful choices here. this is not theplaceto take a big group of people...they have maybe a handful of seats along the wall.

in a town that has a thaiplaceon every corner, ekamai thai curry might be the best lunchplacearound! you just trot up to the counter and they give you food. this is what fast food should look like.

food court. i wanted to like thisplacebut i just can't. it's quaint and all but the food is comparable to mall food court grub. not good!

they have different foods made every day, which makes for fast fresh thai. generally speaking i think thai food is overrated. padthai usually has too much fish sauce in it and smells like a fart. but what i do like of thai food is their curry. the peanut sauce is like eating liquid peanut butter, so i don't like that either, oh and glass noodles freak me out. but lets get back to curry. from the pictures i took i have to assume we got the pinneapple chicken curry, and the pad prik king, both of which were delicious. we got the brown rice and it comes with an egg roll for like 8 bucks. again, thisplaceis really good and the fact that its not sit down and you don't have to pay a tip i always appreciate. so if you are ever by pioneer park downtown stop by. for dessert we got one of my absolute favorite things ever. sticky mango rice! when the mango is ripe and good

soothes the california soul!. i recently moved here from the bay area and have been craving great thai. i've tried many other places recommended by friends, family, and online, only to be consistently disappointed. then, someone recommended ekamai. i have to admit, we were a little surprised at the size and ambiance of the restaurant. we actually wondered whether we came to the right place, or whether this was the take-out area of a full-service ekamai restaurant. however, after we tasted the food, i wouldn't change a thing! the intimacy of the restaurant, the charm and friendliness of woot, and the authentic thai flavors make you feel like you have just been welcomed into a cherishedplaceonly few are cool enough to find. little did i know that thisplacedoes amazing business, frequented by those that know and appreciate great food. we'll be back for our regular thai fix!

thisplaceis on par with the house of nanking (aka the shanghai shoebox) in san francisco. absolutely incredibly delectable comestibles emanating from a geographic postage stamp. fast, friendly and made with love. go there right now.

i visited thisplacewith my girl friend today and i was soooo impressed with the pad seiw and kaw pad! i was curious as to why some reviews gave it a bad rep but all i can say is that it was probably made by god himself

amazing!. i went into ekamai with a friend in june of 2010, and since then i've been going back consistently. i absolutely love all the curries, the service is friendly and fast, and being able to sit outside to people watch while i enjoy my food is wonderful. i definitely recommend thisplaceto all my friends.

thisplacehas such great fresh flavors, every sip or chopstick full is a melody of great taste. everyday has a slighty different menu and they have free delivery! great friendly people as well.

great food, great price, great owner. we love ekamai. we come to eat here about once a week and crave it every single day. woot, the owner, is absolutely wonderful and part of the reason we go so often. the food is amazing. we've wanted to try more of the curries and daily specials he offers, but are so enamored with the mussaman and yellow curry, the thai iced tea, and the sweet sticky rice with mango that it's all we ever order. and we're perfectly happy with it. a definiteplaceto visit if in and around downtown salt lake city.

overcharges -- check your cc statement!. i went there a while ago and had some thai curry. i thought they were good people until i checked my cc statement and compared it to the receipt and realized they overcharged me by about 10%. definitely a shady operation.

i issued a charge back against them. others in this situation should do likewise and they will lose the privilege of accepting credit cards. once they are bankrupt maybe a goodl thai curryplacewill open up.

just what i was looking for.... i love the location, it means that i can get my curry fix after the farmers market or any other festivals held at pioneer park. perfectplaceto watch the bustle of downtown on a saturday. the service is very pleasant and welcoming. they are fast and the portions are a perfect size. i have had the red and yellow curry (with brown rice) as well as the fresh veggies with peanut sauce and they were all wonderful; i could not pick a favorite if i tried! the thai iced tea is also very good, its leaves you not needing a dessert!
