by far the best restaurant in knysna. we loved eating here as the food is superb, served quickly, hot and with a smile. the staff are just wonderful and make the entire experience. do sit outside if the weather is good so that you can enjoy the magnificent views of the heads.

most stunning setting at the foot of the eastern head. food is lovely, management is caring and concerned, and the view is the cherry on top. lovely for breakfast, lunch, and coffee and cake!

the place has good vegetarian and non vegetarian food. the views of the east head of knysna are amazing. the service is average. nice place around to have a stroll after meal.

besides the point that solely the view deserves 5 stars, everything else never disappoints.

homely, simple and family friendly yet excellent food: breakfast, lunch and beverages. this is a rare combination.

best hake and chips in knysna, fantastic breakfasts and lovely coffees served in beautifully colourful cups.

the wait is long, so bring friends or a good book or figure out the tourist-surges and attempt to avoid.

went in here with high expectations. i suspect i won't be remembering that meal and/or experience - granted, i went in at lunch time, when there was a queue of patrons, waiting to be seated. i will prob try them again - most reviews here seem generally very positive.

reporting 0 as this outlet is shutdown for wntir may. if i had know this earlier, would have planned my lunch at a different place. both zomato and east head is responsible for spoiling my holiday.

enjoyed sunday brekkies at east head cafe’ and recommend it as a must-eat venue in knysna. the eggs hollandaise (‘benedict’) were faultless. regret not doing lunch there, on this visit...

the staff have a bad attitude. if its anywhere near their closing time they become extremely offish. rather stop letting people in if you dont wan to be kept... they also have a different standard of regard for white vs non-white diners which i've experienced on two occasions.

in a country where good service and quality food feels like a distant memory of a bygone era, east head cafe is a reminder that one can expect world-class, friendly service and outstanding food that is really well priced.

then there is the view, which is just breathtaking.

it is easy to recommend ehc as the best restaurant experience in south africa, by a country mile!

thank you to the staff, managers, and owners for two fantastic breakfast experiences!

my number one spot for early morning coffee... ☕️ the staff are very efficient and genuinely friendly. coffee is of single origin and is superb 👌🏼 the food is great too - i had the smoked salmon benedict 🤤 if you haven’t been i suggest you go - the earlier the better...

very popular place for lunch but we were seated immediately. attentive service and very friendly and professional. i just had the lemon meringue but it was unbelievable. perfect lemony filling and a massive meringue topping. can’t wait to go back.

the service and breakfast was great. we had a stunning view as well. we had the cafe breakfast and for someone who doesn't enjoy mushrooms, i really enjoy their mushrooms. the breakfast martini is also great for people that want to start their day with light alcohol

really enjoyed our breakfast here. the coffees are fantastically strong without being bitter and served at the prefect temperature. the huevos rancheros is brilliant and a very generous portion size, my wife had the eggs hollandaise - the sauce was a little bland but overall was a great breakfast. the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive

the perfect location for a beautiful breakfast or lunch with family and friends. as a knysna resident i frequently visit the restaurant and will continue to do so for many years. friendly staff and great food every time!
