the place has good vegetarian and non vegetarian food. the views of the east head of knysna are amazing. theserviceis average. nice place around to have a stroll after meal.

house salad was a real surprise and great calamari! theservicewas great with a good view to complement your meal.

in a country where goodserviceand quality food feels like a distant memory of a bygone era, east head cafe is a reminder that one can expect world-class, friendlyserviceand outstanding food that is really well priced.

then there is the view, which is just breathtaking.

it is easy to recommend ehc as the best restaurant experience in south africa, by a country mile!

very popular place for lunch but we were seated immediately. attentiveserviceand very friendly and professional. i just had the lemon meringue but it was unbelievable. perfect lemony filling and a massive meringue topping. can’t wait to go back.

theserviceand breakfast was great. we had a stunning view as well. we had the cafe breakfast and for someone who doesn't enjoy mushrooms, i really enjoy their mushrooms. the breakfast martini is also great for people that want to start their day with light alcohol

east head cafe is a must for a delicious breakfast or lunch with an authentic south african feel and incredible views of the heads.

theserviceis friendly and the food absolutely amazing. this is a very popular spot so be prepared to wait in line or arrive early over the holiday season.

you can't beat the view here!  i mean, you are right at the knysna heads with a crystal clear view of the heads, the lagoons, and swirling flocks of birds.  the air is crystal clear, fresh, and rejuvenating.  the restaurant is a beautiful, light, and airy one, though there are way too many benches for my taste--i tend to prefer sitting with something against my back.  they do provide cushions for the benches, however, so your backside won't be sore. serviceis prompt and the food is fresh,though this does seem to be the general standard for knysna.  however, some of the way they prepare the food raises eyebrows for me.  i had the po'boy burger and i must say i was expecting something tastier--the pork was way too sweet and the tempura prawns---they didn't take the shells off of them!  they are covered in batter and you can't see that they're still in the shells.  calamari is quite good.  overall not bad but there are other places in knysna i prefer.

hidden gem! theserviceis impeccable and super friendly, incredible view and the food was really good. we left very happy and will be back.

we went to have breakfast here a bit more than a week ago. we sat outside and the view was absolutely gorgeous. i ordered some kind of pork belly benedict, and at r89, expected a nice big breakfast. however, what i got in reality was very small and didn't even slightly fill me up. it was literally only 2 thin fatty pieces of pork, egg and hollandaise sauce. no bread or anything else. theservicewasn't bad, but also not fantastic. my boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast, which was a bit more filling, but also quite pricy. the view is nice, but i won't recommend going here if you are hungry.

everyone at my table enjoyed their food ranging from burgers to whatever my dish was to plain ole eggs and bacon. theservicewas speedy even though they were packed to the brim and had a 30min waiting list.

seriously, you must come here, but expect to wait in line.

there was a 45 minute queue and it was totally worth it. we were seated at 11 and breakfast ends at 11.30, so we decided to wait and order off the lunch menu. i've had breakfast here before and the eggs benedict varieties are brilliant. i chose the po'boy burger- pulled patty in a teriyaki sauce, 2 tempura prawns and an apple slaw. delish- although a little sweet due to the sauce. the chips were perfect - soft inside and crisp on the outside. the hake and the calamari, deliciously fresh. what is amazing about this place is that, unlike many places over this busy season, theservicewas impeccable. exceptionally well run and an absolute pleasure not to be rushed and to be given time to chill, while also having staff constantly available for a top up or to answer a question. love it.

i've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed! theserviceis always friendly, no matter how busy they are, and the food is consistently good with a varied menu and enticing list of daily specials.

this is the second restaurant that my boss and i tried whilst in knysna for business recently.    and what a contrast this was compared to the previous evening's outing.

it was unfortunately a rather grey and misty morning in knysna but i found it to be quite breathtaking as it made the heads to be mysterious looking.  we had wanted to sit on the outside section so that we be in the elements and enjoy the really amazing view.  but unfortunately, it started to rain gently for a bit so we were forced to move inside.  

theservicewas impeccable throughout and the food offerings were really good.  i had the salmon eggs benedict and they were really good and the hollandaise sauce was really well done, creamy and well seasoned.  they served their hot beverages in le creuset ware.  so there was an element of class to the establishment.  also they serve twg teas, which if the reader reads up on, originates from my country of birth.  so naturally i had to try it.  

this is a top class establishment and was very popular with both the locals and tourist alike.  the food andservicewas really top class and we are really happy that we did come here for breakfast.

amazing views and great service. the food was really good too. although the guys were a bit disappointed with the serving size that they ordered an extra dish. other than that, coffee was good, biscotti on the side added a nice touch.servicewas excellent.
