a beautiful cafe on the east of knysna heads. a terrific view if you're seated on the outside and the cafe provides you with snuggle-some blankets. we ordered the fish and truffle chips (10/10) the fish batter is made with soda water and corn flour , crispy and delicious. the chai latte is sweet and spicy - perfect if you're looking for a balance of the two. the staff and manager sharifa is kind and friendly making your time at the cafe well worth it. a definite must try spot! 👌🏻

talk about breakfast with a view! if you're looking to start your morning off on the right leg, then this is the place to go break the fast. sleek, clean and complimented by a breathtaking view of the lagoon mouth, you simply can't ask for better!

we arrived at opening time and were still met by a queue of 3 other couples. around half an hour later, the restaurant was half full. unfortunately, they don't take bookings and work on a first come first serve basis, so make sure you get their early if you want to get a seat by the window. they also have an outside section, which wasn't as busy, but sitting there when it's 14 degrees outside isn't so pleasant. they do, however, offer blankets and i happily took one to wrap around my legs inside.

we were in a bit of a hurry, so we wasted no time in ordering cappuccinos, one plain and one red. they came with a delicious biscotti biscuit to nibble on while we waited for our food to arrive. my better half also ordered a watermelon and strawberry juice, which was a bit overpowered by the flavor of the watermelon, but refreshing nonetheless.

our cafe breakfast and salmon hollandaise arrived relatively quickly. my partner was immediately glad he'd not ordered the same as i did (with ham instead of salmon, of course) and also happy that he'd ordered an extra sausage. the portions are small for his standards! for me, it was perfect - left me feeling satisfied, but not overly stuffed. i loved the hollandaise sauce and the eggs were poached to perfection, soft and gooey, yet still hard enough to stay on your toast. everything just seemed to work very well together and i absolutely loved it! my better half also seemed to have enjoyed his plate of food, as evident by the lack of leftovers.

when the bill came, i was surprised to discover that it was only about r50 more expensive than the breakfasts we'd had at our hotel. so i really think they're decently priced, given the great food, beautiful presentation and amazing view. i'd recommend it to anyone! ideal place to stop for breakfast on your way back to cape town from plettenberg bay, or just to treat yourself if you stay nearby. and also worth getting up early for if you live far away! i'll definitely be back!

hidden gem! the service is impeccable and super friendly, incredible view and the food was really good. we left very happy and will be back.

we went to have breakfast here a bit more than a week ago. we sat outside and the view was absolutely gorgeous. i ordered some kind of pork belly benedict, and at r89, expected a nice big breakfast. however, what i got in reality was very small and didn't even slightly fill me up. it was literally only 2 thin fatty pieces of pork, egg and hollandaise sauce. no bread or anything else. the service wasn't bad, but also not fantastic. my boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast, which was a bit more filling, but also quite pricy. the view is nice, but i won't recommend going here if you are hungry.

everyone at my table enjoyed their food ranging from burgers to whatever my dish was to plain ole eggs and bacon. the service was speedy even though they were packed to the brim and had a 30min waiting list.

absolutely one of the best spots in knysna for breakfast. their eggs benedicts, both normal and salmon are delicious and done to perfection. their truffle chips are fantastic and with great coffee and a good view of the ocean, it's a great way to start the day off. they use a first come first serve policy so arrive early!

we arrived and had to wait 20 minutes during a peak season and time, but it was completely worth it. we got seated at the best table in the restaurant which had the most breathtaking views. we were then greeted by our awesome waitress, nicky, who was exceptionally friendly, efficient and accommodating. the fish and chips was one of the best plates of food i have eaten. the batter was crispy and the fish was fresh and piping hot. we also had a very tasty vegetarian option. thanks for the amazing experience. i will recommend it to everyone :)

there was a 45 minute queue and it was totally worth it. we were seated at 11 and breakfast ends at 11.30, so we decided to wait and order off the lunch menu. i've had breakfast here before and the eggs benedict varieties are brilliant. i chose the po'boy burger- pulled patty in a teriyaki sauce, 2 tempura prawns and an apple slaw. delish- although a little sweet due to the sauce. the chips were perfect - soft inside and crisp on the outside. the hake and the calamari, deliciously fresh. what is amazing about this place is that, unlike many places over this busy season, the service was impeccable. exceptionally well run and an absolute pleasure not to be rushed and to be given time to chill, while also having staff constantly available for a top up or to answer a question. love it.

amazing views and excellent service! great place to start your morning with breakfast and a cup of something hot like their chai mocha. their french toast and bacon with fig preserve and camembert is highly recommended for those who love their breakkies savoury and sweet. would definitely go there again!

this place really is all about the views!!

the restaurant is clean, fresh and warm. with a good vibe when full. the staff were abit slow but it was very busy so that is understandable.

the food was lovely with good attention to the prep details on the plate.

the view is exceptional. we only had drinks at east head cafe. the drinks were served hot and delicious. the staff were very friendly.
overall i had a great experience. short & sweet. will definitely be going back for lunch!

wow this is a must must from the view to the food and cocktails the best cocktails i ever had in my life. staff is so friendly and always their to help. when you in this part of the world you need to go and visit them. will def b back for more!!!

very busy place overlooking 'the heads'. fantastic view. we had a coffee with homemade cake which was great. service very attentive.
we will definitely come back to this place!
