never disappointed. been here a couple times and every time i've been satisfied and left happy. the food is pretty great, i love the atmosphere and the overall decor and setup.
prices are reasonable enough, considering the quality of ingredients you're supposedly getting; ~$20 for something + a side after tax and tip.
would recommend for sure, and definitely would not mind multiple returns to see how they change their menu up.

disappointing breakfast. went for breakfast and the menu was rather unimaginative (i.e., the typical breakfast items that one would find at a diner). i was surprised that the place is called "bread bar" and bread was not featured on the breakfast menu. tried the pastry plate and did not like it: the scone was hard and not very good, the muffin was not as good as it is at tim horton's and then there was a croissant. we also ordered a fruit plate.this fruit plate had grapes in it that were not very fresh (i.e., the bottom side of each grape was brown) and then there was about half an apple, half a pear, a couple of orange slices and a couple of grapefruit slices. the service also left a lot to be desired. i will not return.

earth to table is a local restaurant that is conscious of using fresh ingredients from local farmers, great design and creating traditional meals with a new twist. their philosophy is to “shorten the gap between producers to consumer”, and i think they’ve done a beautiful job. i went with 2 friends on a tuesday night, which was coincidentally taco tuesday. after looking through the selection of tacos, i decided with the 1. pulled pork taco topped with kimchi . my friend ordered a 2. ginger beer and 3. ol’ blue burger . another friend ordered 4. mac and cheese , and i ordered 5. porchetta on a bun . everything looked insanely delicious.  the taco was all wrapped up in a warm corn tortilla. i’m not sure what exactly was piled onto the corn tortilla, but whatever was in it made me happy. you could taste the zing and the savoury flavours of the ingredients. next was my porchetta on a bun. thin shaved slices of porchetta piled onto a

happy patron!. i visited bread bar for my birthday this past weekend. i made a reservation for 10 people at 7:30. i had been wanting to visit for some time, but was never able to get in, the place is always packed. so when making the reservation, i wasn't aware of just how small the place is. upon arriving, i told the hostess that we would only be 8, as 2 friends were felled with the flu. they proceeded to show us to our table, which was in the middle of the room, and on the small side. it was a tight fit for 7 adults and a toddler in a booster seat, i'm not entirely sure how they would have accommodated a group of 10. i will admit to being a tad disappointed at first, since it was definitely a cozy affair and table space for glasses and plates was at a premium, but that quickly wore off once our food arrived. delicious! my boyfriend and i split the cured meats before moving on to the mac & cheese and butter chicken pizza. i had a couple caesar's, also very good. spicy and briny, they were the best i've had in a long while. everyone else at the table was happy with their food as well. we all agreed that while the table was small and the room was a tad overly warm, the great food and service more than made up for it. upon asking for our bills, our server kindly told us that to make up for our small table, they wanted us to have desserts on the house. as we were moving our festivities to a friend's home, they graciously packed up 2 large boxes of treats from the pastry bar- cookies, brownies, squares, macaroons. we were all so impressed, since they had already apologized for the table, we certainly weren't expecting anything. the food had already cemented my decision that we would definitely return again, but the excellent service (and treats for the road) really made the night special. can't wait to go back!

overhyped. my lunch companion and i are at a loss as to why this restaurant is so popular. unless you ask, sandwiches are served on bland white bread, the server explained this is on purpose so the bread won't overpower the flavours of the sandwich filling. kinda funny a place called the bread bar promotes white bread. also had the winter salad which was supposed to have roasted winter vegetables...but there must have been a special on beets because that, with the exception of a roasted garlic clove was the only vegetable in the salad. my friend had roasted garlic pizza with arugula ... just large cloves of garlic tossed on a pizza crust that was soggy. coffee also was lukewarm, seating is tight and it is one of the loudest restaurants i have ever been in..acoustics are horrible. server was friendly. we won't be back and can not recommend it.

horrible. went to this restaurant with my husband, our child and a friend. the four of us had to wait for awhile to be seated. the menu looked alright, we ordered the mac n cheese for our child and requested that if possible, could we get it with no bacon. the rest of us ordered vegetarian pizzas. we were told "no problem." unfortunately, when trying to decipher what the different taste was in the mac n cheese, we discovered there was in fact pieces of bacon throughout the meal. we addressed the mix up in the order with our waiter, who simply shrugged it off as if eating bacon was no big deal for people who only eat kosher. the worst part was when the bill came, i couldn't believe they had actually added the mac n cheese with bacon to our bill, knowing it was returned unconsumed. even the manager was told about the incident and seemed non concerned.
i wouldn't even trust that the vegetarian pizza was in fact vegetarian.
avoid the place

bread bar is so fresh and inviting, and always busy. we grabbed a seat at the counter and were presented with beer-battered brie with maple-apple puree, bacon jam, spiced walnuts and fried bread. fried bread? come on! we soon forgot how full we were getting and went to town. it looked so neat that i didn’t want to mess it up by taking it apart to eat. our cocktail was an apple rosemary collins – super refreshing.

neutral. bread bar is one of those places that has me scratching my head. everyone raves about it but i don't get it at all. i ordered the skinny fries (delicious), and the margarita pizza. they have no idea what they are doing with their pizza. on one hand, it seems very american, with a thick crust. on the other, it seems as though it is trying to be italian - besides the crust, the rest is incredibly thin. it is also very floppy and soaked in oil. my significant other got a pizza that had a lot of meat on it and enjoyed his much more than i did, so maybe i just had an unlucky day. for dessert i had the brownie, which was delicious. i would go back for appetizers and desserts (apps and zerts) any tim, but not for the main course.

very good food with a great atmosphere. have been in a number of times for lunch, though i have never ordered the pizza, it looks delicious. the atmosphere is very good. the restaurant is always busy with a rustic feel to the decor. the servers are friendly and helpful when making decisions. one of my favourite items on the menu is the sandwich salad. the fact that i can take any sandwich, including a hamburger, and make it a salad is great! i have had a number of burgers and sandwiches both as burgers and sandwiches, and as salads. in my opinion, the umami beef burger is the best, as a salad or as a burger. give it a try.

i always try to make time to go here when i'm in hamilton. great food and ambiance! i love their veggie burger (quinoa burger) - it's filling and delicious! devils on horseback (roasted prunes wrapped in bacon) are amazing - great balance between sweet and salty. you can never go wrong with cured meats or bread and dip either! all those are great for sharing! pizzas are also really good - great dough, thin and flavourful. although i'm not a fan of bechamel sauce, the apple bacon pizza was really good - great balance! i could list off a billion things - i always share my food when i'm here just so i can eat as many menu items as possible because it's sooo good!!

apparently pizza is what they are known for so i went with the apple and bacon pizza. it was neopolitan-style pizza dough with bechamel sauce, caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, sage, sliced apples and bacon...
