good atmosphere. rather busy but the service and food was great. i also had one of the best shakes ever here. wife had pizza apple bacon, she loved it. thick chewy crust but a thin light middle. i had the peameal bacon sandwich served on thick whitebreadtoasted. it was a great sandwich. we will definitely go back.

great food. i have never had a bad experience at thebreadbar, lunch and dinner are busy so there is usually a wait time to be expected but it's never been longer than 45mins for us. service does tend to be a little on the slow side but staff are friendly and the food is excellent. chicken salad sandwich (not always on the menu) and the umami burgers are my favourites.

food allergy ridden people beware..... i have been waiting to go tobreadbar for a very long time as i have only heard good things about the food. i ate brunch at the restaurant for the first time recently, and i have no complaints about the food, but my waitress was very ignorant to my food allergy. i advised my waitress i had a very bad dairy allergy and asked for safe options on the menu. after i finished my meal i quickly learned that thebreadserved with my meal was made with milk, despite the restaurant having veganbreadoptions. when i asked my waitress, she merely even acknowledged that she made a mistake, or bothered to apologized. she treated me as if i was over-reacting, yet she doesn't know that i spent the remainder of the day and next day very sick because of what i was served. i am writing this message because is very common for people to have food allergies or intolerances, and restaurants should be accommodative to this and not make their guests feel like they are a hassle. i wish i could say i would come back to this restaurant again, but i was so thoroughly unimpressed with the service, i will not bother to return not recommend.

i’ve been waiting for quite a while (almost a year) to try this place out. i don’t know why it took me so long but that’s besides the point. i finally made it!. since i’ve moved to hamilton, whenever i talk to people about restaurants to try in the area, thebreadbar is always one of their top suggestions. my dad wanted to come to hamilton for dinner last week and it didn’t take much convincing on my part to get him here. he checked out the menu beforehand and was just as excited as i was.

inconsistency at its finest.. i have eaten here on many occasions and the conclusion i have made is this- if the service is good the chances are your food is going to be mediocre, if your service was bad oddly enough the food ended up being better. inconsistency rules this restaurant and it's very unfortunate seeing that there are not many options when one wants to dine on locke. the constant changeover of staff ensures guests either good or horrible service. clearly the lack of patrons who stay just goes to show what kind of restaurant it is. if you're promising guests the freshest, most local ingredients, then why keep letting guests down? this past weekend my husband and i watched our server chat with another employee as our food clearly sat in the window getting colder by the minute. when the food finally came to our table my mac and cheese wasn't even hot anymore. rather than complaining i have fully given up onbreadbar and unfortunately will not be dining with you again.

yeah...the food is nice but.... the food at "thebreadbar" i will call it is very well put together, i would say. as a person who lives very close to this establishment i have to question the "earth to table" part of this name/mission statement. i see sysco trucks delivering produce every other day which as you may or may not know is not the benchmark of the farm to table movement.

go to thebreadbar for food but don't swallow the "i bull

i’d call hamilton, ontario’s earth to tablebreadbar a hidden gem but it isn’t. just about everyone local to the area knows about it.

earth to tablebreadbar has a variety of things on their menu from burgers to mac & cheese to porchetta on a bun. but what they are most famous for is their pizza, which never lets me down. this time i went for the gusto pizza – a new addition on their menu. it’s made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, rapini, sausage, chili peppers (which i subbed for roasted red pepper), olive oil, and garlic. it was a bit soggy in the middle, but i still loved it!

disappointing breakfast. went for breakfast and the menu was rather unimaginative (i.e., the typical breakfast items that one would find at a diner). i was surprised that the place is called "bread bar" andbreadwas not featured on the breakfast menu. tried the pastry plate and did not like it: the scone was hard and not very good, the muffin was not as good as it is at tim horton's and then there was a croissant. we also ordered a fruit plate.this fruit plate had grapes in it that were not very fresh (i.e., the bottom side of each grape was brown) and then there was about half an apple, half a pear, a couple of orange slices and a couple of grapefruit slices. the service also left a lot to be desired. i will not return.

happy patron!. i visitedbreadbar for my birthday this past weekend. i made a reservation for 10 people at 7:30. i had been wanting to visit for some time, but was never able to get in, the place is always packed. so when making the reservation, i wasn't aware of just how small the place is. upon arriving, i told the hostess that we would only be 8, as 2 friends were felled with the flu. they proceeded to show us to our table, which was in the middle of the room, and on the small side. it was a tight fit for 7 adults and a toddler in a booster seat, i'm not entirely sure how they would have accommodated a group of 10. i will admit to being a tad disappointed at first, since it was definitely a cozy affair and table space for glasses and plates was at a premium, but that quickly wore off once our food arrived. delicious! my boyfriend and i split the cured meats before moving on to the mac & cheese and butter chicken pizza. i had a couple caesar's, also very good. spicy and briny, they were the best i've had in a long while. everyone else at the table was happy with their food as well. we all agreed that while the table was small and the room was a tad overly warm, the great food and service more than made up for it. upon asking for our bills, our server kindly told us that to make up for our small table, they wanted us to have desserts on the house. as we were moving our festivities to a friend's home, they graciously packed up 2 large boxes of treats from the pastry bar- cookies, brownies, squares, macaroons. we were all so impressed, since they had already apologized for the table, we certainly weren't expecting anything. the food had already cemented my decision that we would definitely return again, but the excellent service (and treats for the road) really made the night special. can't wait to go back!

overhyped. my lunch companion and i are at a loss as to why this restaurant is so popular. unless you ask, sandwiches are served on bland white bread, the server explained this is on purpose so thebreadwon't overpower the flavours of the sandwich filling. kinda funny a place called thebreadbar promotes white bread. also had the winter salad which was supposed to have roasted winter vegetables...but there must have been a special on beets because that, with the exception of a roasted garlic clove was the only vegetable in the salad. my friend had roasted garlic pizza with arugula ... just large cloves of garlic tossed on a pizza crust that was soggy. coffee also was lukewarm, seating is tight and it is one of the loudest restaurants i have ever been in..acoustics are horrible. server was friendly. we won't be back and can not recommend it.

neutral.breadbar is one of those places that has me scratching my head. everyone raves about it but i don't get it at all. i ordered the skinny fries (delicious), and the margarita pizza. they have no idea what they are doing with their pizza. on one hand, it seems very american, with a thick crust. on the other, it seems as though it is trying to be italian - besides the crust, the rest is incredibly thin. it is also very floppy and soaked in oil. my significant other got a pizza that had a lot of meat on it and enjoyed his much more than i did, so maybe i just had an unlucky day. for dessert i had the brownie, which was delicious. i would go back for appetizers and desserts (apps and zerts) any tim, but not for the main course.

i always try to make time to go here when i'm in hamilton. great food and ambiance! i love their veggie burger (quinoa burger) - it's filling and delicious! devils on horseback (roasted prunes wrapped in bacon) are amazing - great balance between sweet and salty. you can never go wrong with cured meats orbreadand dip either! all those are great for sharing! pizzas are also really good - great dough, thin and flavourful. although i'm not a fan of bechamel sauce, the apple bacon pizza was really good - great balance! i could list off a billion things - i always share my food when i'm here just so i can eat as many menu items as possible because it's sooo good!!
