earth to table bread bar

best pizza i've ever had.. i heard about this place on you gotta eat here (which i'm sure a lot of people have) but i also saw them at thefood& drink fest, but thought they were just a catering company or bakery.. not a fully fledged restaurant.

i ordered the meat mountain pizza today and good lord... it was the tastiest pizza i think i've ever had. the lineup was a bit too long inside to sit, so i took it to go, but it stayed hot all the way back to my office in burlington.

next time i'd love to eat in though and have one of the surprisingly good selection of beers.

wonderful, thefoodis fresh and vibrant as well as quick and attentive service. my only issue since going there is that the tacos are one dimensional and the wine is overpriced.

carmel french toast..aka.heaven. i dont not usually eat sweetfoodand was on vacation so splurged on carmel french toast ..it was heaven..warm homemade carmel sauce, not too thick...great replacement for syrup...would make an excellent treat to share anytime of the day....

incredible food!. our first visit will not be our last. thefoodis homemade and fresh. you can absolutely taste the difference. from appetizers, to entrees to the dessert, their menu has a variety of options for every taste and yoiu can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu.

been there twice in 2016.foodand service were very good. price is reasonable and staff were very friendly and efficient. mostfoodis sourced locally and most ingredients are made from scratch including their ice cream, sauces and doughs.

i have been here numerous times and every time i have been happy with it for the most part.
atmosphere- loud, loud, loud. when it is busy ( it is busy often) it is very loud. you sit very close to your neighbours.  this place is too small for the amount of people that want to be there, great for restaurant, not so good for the people forced to listen to another  tables conversation.  luckily thefoodmakes up for the noise.
food- i have had many things here. pizzas are wonderful. any of them are good. the fries are good.especially the thyme fries. ( i don't recommend the features fries because they are overwheming with sauce- i know a lot of people like that .m i happen to be not one of them) this time i went for the novemberburger- it was one of my favourites. i liked the sweet chutney with the burger and the fried egg added so much to the meal. my daughter had the tuna melt- |she loves this meal and has had it several times. the soups and desserts are also fantastic. i couldn't eat anything for dessert this time but i have had a lot of choices there,. i especially like the cookies. i do want to mention the coffee and lattes are good in their own rite. you dont  have to finish up a meal for coffee or a good cup of tea because this place has it too, ( maybe that is why it is so full al day long)
service- our waitress this day was nice and attentive. she filled our water bottle often ( i love that they have bottles on table )
impression- i will be back again and again.

visited recently for lunch. i haven't been there since winter. it was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed the view of the streetscape on locke street as we waited. we initially debated leaving because it was so loud. the volume rose in a crescendo as people tried to be heard. despite that, we were glad we decided to stay. the kale caesar i ordered was very good. generous meal sized portion with the right balance of flavours. unfortunately many of the croutons were rock like. i thought i might chip a tooth if i persisted.
my husband chose a brisket burger which came with small endive salad ..garnish size. he enjoyed it very much. the meat was tender and flavourful. his burger was large as warned and he couldnt finish it.
we had to wait longer for our meals than others who arrived after us but luckily, we werent in a rush. we will return again. thefoodis fresh and smart.

good atmosphere. rather busy but the service andfoodwas great. i also had one of the best shakes ever here. wife had pizza apple bacon, she loved it. thick chewy crust but a thin light middle. i had the peameal bacon sandwich served on thick white bread toasted. it was a great sandwich. we will definitely go back.

great food. i have never had a bad experience at the bread bar, lunch and dinner are busy so there is usually a wait time to be expected but it's never been longer than 45mins for us. service does tend to be a little on the slow side but staff are friendly and thefoodis excellent. chicken salad sandwich (not always on the menu) and the umami burgers are my favourites.

food allergy ridden people beware..... i have been waiting to go to bread bar for a very long time as i have only heard good things about the food. i ate brunch at the restaurant for the first time recently, and i have no complaints about the food, but my waitress was very ignorant to myfoodallergy. i advised my waitress i had a very bad dairy allergy and asked for safe options on the menu. after i finished my meal i quickly learned that the bread served with my meal was made with milk, despite the restaurant having vegan bread options. when i asked my waitress, she merely even acknowledged that she made a mistake, or bothered to apologized. she treated me as if i was over-reacting, yet she doesn't know that i spent the remainder of the day and next day very sick because of what i was served. i am writing this message because is very common for people to havefoodallergies or intolerances, and restaurants should be accommodative to this and not make their guests feel like they are a hassle. i wish i could say i would come back to this restaurant again, but i was so thoroughly unimpressed with the service, i will not bother to return not recommend.

one phrase: "once you sit at the bar, i can't move you to a table"

this restaurant is force to be reckoned with... in a bad sense

use to love eating here but new staff require lots of training as their egos are bigger then the building. their ability to seat people properly is a constant struggle. actually it seems only the female waitstaff are incompetent. would it hurt to crack a smile sometimes? thefoodis still good though

the line up takes forever. they like i seat 2 people at 4 person table when the line up is an hour long. waiters need help. kitchen is awesome though

inconsistency at its finest.. i have eaten here on many occasions and the conclusion i have made is this- if the service is good the chances are yourfoodis going to be mediocre, if your service was bad oddly enough thefoodended up being better. inconsistency rules this restaurant and it's very unfortunate seeing that there are not many options when one wants to dine on locke. the constant changeover of staff ensures guests either good or horrible service. clearly the lack of patrons who stay just goes to show what kind of restaurant it is. if you're promising guests the freshest, most local ingredients, then why keep letting guests down? this past weekend my husband and i watched our server chat with another employee as ourfoodclearly sat in the window getting colder by the minute. when thefoodfinally came to our table my mac and cheese wasn't even hot anymore. rather than complaining i have fully given up on bread bar and unfortunately will not be dining with you again.

best service. i've been here on three different occasions and this restaurant has the best service ever. i've had three different servers, and out of all the restaurants i've been to in my life, the three servers were the best ones i've ever had! not to mention that thefoodis spectacular. they really make other restaurants in hamilton run for their money. love coming here!

yeah...thefoodis nice but.... thefoodat "the bread bar" i will call it is very well put together, i would say. as a person who lives very close to this establishment i have to question the "earth to table" part of this name/mission statement. i see sysco trucks delivering produce every other day which as you may or may not know is not the benchmark of the farm to table movement.

go to the bread bar forfoodbut don't swallow the "i bull

always a hot spot for lunches. do not go if you're not prepared to wait for a table as it's first come first served there but trust me it worth it. the service is always prompt and polite. thefoodis always fresh and exactly qhat you expect. i highly recommend.
