dub's a public house

basically if you read this, go to the establishment anyways, have an issue, and are faced with the delema of "should i say something?!?".... then you've done this to yourself. this place doesn't care about it's patrons. if you have agreatexperience then great! but don't expect any sympathy or recovery from them if and when they drop the ball... onward...

there was a screw sticking straight out of the chair my mother went to sit in. luckily it didn't cut her but it tore her new pants. in further inspection other chairs had the same screw sticking out of the "bum spot" of the chair. we asked to speak to the manager and he was awefully rude. he said the chair manufacturer was at fault not himself or the company he represents. when we told him we were not happy with that response he yelled at us claiming we were trying to blackmail him and this and that as he stormed into the kitchen cussing. he did absolutely nothing to compensate for the pants and did not even apologize. i'm glad my mom didn't get cut on the screw but it was obviously sharp enough to cut her. just a warning if you go there. check your seat before you sit down so you do not hurt yourself. in my case, i will not be back. there are plenty ofgreathospitable places to go in this area and all we got out of our experience here was a ruined pair of pants and an attitude from the manager rob. rob, learn to recover from moments like this. you were in the wrong. you should have shown some sympathy and tried to make a bad situation into a good one. things happen. but being a jerk helps nothing except your failing ego.

great food! must try the jalapeño beer cheese and pretzels! one of my fav foods in savannah. has agreatlaid back atmosphere. you're on river street but you aren't in all the craziness.
service is kinda sporadic. servers are always nice though!
edit my husband and i have been sitting waiting for the check for well over 15 minutes. my husband finally peaked into the bar and saw our waitress and the bartender leaning over the bar talking and laughing. then we heard someone scream and it was our waitress continuing to flirt with the bartender in the next to us. it's a shame. this place has amazing food but the service is so off. we ended up waiting for a full 15 minutes for her to come back. all i can say is i hope bartender jordan gets his girl.

great service. there were two amazing ladies there. kim and janelle were exceedingly lovely and fantastic. the service wasgreatand its agreatatmosphere. this place is a must for anybody visiting savannah.

not worth it. absolutely horrific experience. the atmosphere was really fun and inviting, but the bartender and staff were absolutely unwelcoming. my friends and i went in there on a sunday morning and were playing ping pong and my friend accidentally dropped his drink.. a waitress came out and was extremely hostile (to the point of cursing) towards us for dropping the drink. we ended up leaving and went to mcdonough's and had agreattime. i will never spend another dollar in dubs again.

do not order the ribs.greatatmosphere, very friendly and nice wait staff. but, i ordered the special- the stout bbq ribs. what i got was a hunk of fat and bones. it was extremely difficult to get the 6 small bites of meat off of that i could. so, i ended up paying $11 for mac and cheese and vegetable medley, which made this 7 months pregnant lady literally break down into tears. because of the waitstaff being so nice to us, i decided not to embarrass my husband by complaining. i would go again, but never in a million years would i recommend anyone to get the ribs. you are warned.

dubs -greatfood on river street. my family and i went to dubs for dinner on a saturday night. the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed! the jalapeño beer cheese with pretzels was the perfect appetizer, and our party of eight enjoyed a variety of items off the menu. everything was fresh and arrived at our table within a few minutes off each other. the value and quality of the food is better than most on river street and i was truly impressed. my only complaint was that the live band was a little loud, but we were able to sit towards the back of the restaurant and the music was pleasant. i would definitely recommend dubs for a night out downtown!

great place. cool look inside.greatbeer selection. try the wings. very tasty with a kick. i'll be back.

disappointed to say the least. went to dubs on june 28 with some friends in town for the ymca gymnastics. i have to say that i was quite disappointed with both the service and the food. we had a party of 8 so a variety of items were ordered. first, the service wasgreatat first but then the waitress seemed to forget about us. i was drinking beer and was only ever able to order one. i actually had to go to the bar to order my second. you'd think that our waitress would have realized that we were in a good mood and offered to order us more drinks.

my food, shrimp tacos, came out first with my neice's food, shrimp and grits. my food was simply ok. nothing special. her shrimp and grits were simply awful. the waitress said they were unique and that they were. however, they had absolutely no flavor. i've tried many varieties of shrimp and grits and these weren't even tolerable. the rest of our food took approximately 30 min. to come from the kitchen. i had finished my food for at least 15 min before the last entree emerged from the kitchen. was there any thought of an apology or any acknowledgment of the delay or reason... no. as we polled the rest of our group about their meals we were met with unanimous "it was ok" or "pretty bad" responses. we dropped over $150 at dubs and it was an experience not worth $20.

for the money i would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. while the menu is imaginative, the service and food quality is simply not up to par for the price.

enjoyed my cheddar grits, falcon burger and bacon cupcake. also the woodchuck summer cider was perfect for this hot summer day. nice atmosphere andgreatservice

brave burger is fantastic. the humus with pita chips is great. sean is agreatbartender and knows how to make drinks just right. everything is very reasonably priced as well. good, fun atmostphere. would easily recommend dub's pub toto good friends... we will come here on every visit to savannah.

go here right now. if you like bars, this is the place for you. not only do they have agreatselection of beer, they have televisions galore, and then they have a game room featuring 2 ping pong tables, two dart boards, shuffleboard, and pool! if you are hungry, they havegreatfood, and the bartender and server we had were excellent! friendly and fun to talk to, and they even let us sample some of the new beers they got in before we bought them. why there weren't more people there is crazy to me. created an account just for them so get the word out!
