the restaurant itself is reminiscent of amexicanflea market; there’s stuff everywhere! don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere is incredible. the outside has market carts and colorful decorations, picnic tables, etc. it manages to be both a cozy and social environment. the real treat is inside. the place is dark, lit by punched tin lanterns and strings of colored lights. tables are separated by dyed cloths with day of the dead skeletons and eerie faces of workers picking plants in a field. even the restrooms stick to the eclectic theme. back to the steak taco

satisfying and worth the cost!. i'm not sure why these people are constantly mentioning the cost. if you want cheap, everydaymexicanfood, this is not your restaurant. you can find plenty of those all around raleigh. anyone that eats here knows that by reviewing the menu, so don't leave a message on here with a negative review because of that. this food is quality and the meats are from free roaming, local farms and organic fruits and vegetables. you pay for what you get! the food is outstanding and leaves you feeling satisfied, not weighed down. in a large city, this place would do so well. i highly recommend this place for the persons willing to pay the appropriate amount for the quality of their food.

not worth the hype!. this place was too dark and borderline creepy. the service was okay, but the food was terrible! our food was clearly heated in the microwave, it didn't taste fresh. and worst of all, they overmicrowaved the food! the refried beans were so burnt, they were hard. they comped one plate (i suffered through mine-btw, the cashier and server did not seem surprised or apologetic that the food came out in this condition). i ordered some kind of "popular", yet forgettable, steak dish. the steak was dry, my rice was dry, but my refried beans were not as badly overheated as my lunchmate (the food lacked the usual flavorful profile i expect frommexicancuisine). overall, this place was a horribly dissapointing experience. the lunch price was a bit high, but if the food had been good, the price might not have stood out as much. also, i could have sworn a spider fell from the ceiling-eek! maybe this was a really bad day, but i am not intrigued enough to give them a second glance or chance.

absolutely love the decor. it's kind of a romantic setting with a candle on every table. it looks like a place you might not look at twice from the outside, but do yourself a favor and walk in. enjoy a fantastic authenticmexicandinner for an affordable price. some of the best enchiladas i've ever had. i am very particular aboutmexicanrestaurants. a lot will say they are authentic, but you can always tell real from fake. i always check the beans and rice, and know, before even taking a bite, if they are authentic.

less than mediocre. to walk in dos taquitos reminded me of a dark gloomy cave. the chips were stale, the salsa was revolting and we ordered a drink that featured "fresh" limes and the limes were completely dehydrated....when we asked for fresh limes, the same dry, juicless limes were returned to the table (probably due to the poor lighthing).
the wait staff is uninformed of featured specials and sadly, they only offer sweet and low...ewwwww it's2011...where the hell is the equal or splenda???
after 10 minutes, we decided this place was ridiculous and we decided to go to a realmexicanrestaruant who wouldn't charge us an arm and a leg for a taco.

cool atmosphere, different salsa (pickled), great cheese dip. we split an entree but the portions were smaller than you see at othermexicanplaces (i.e. the quesadilla does not fill your entire plate). overall good experience but food needed to be better for us to choose it over a cheaper alternative.

this is notmexicanfood. fom the moment i sat down in this dark restaurant and tasted the salsa, which tasted pickled an sweet i knew this wasn't going to be good. as i texan, who knows goodmexicangood and has traveled to mexico several times i heartily disapprove. everything had a sweet flavor to it-the tamale were bland, the salsa terrible. ok, the chilaquiles were good, but i definitely would have rather gone la rancherita, where they know good salsa!

it's been a very, very long time since i've been to amexicanrestaurant. i make quesadillas all the time, but other than the occasional chipotle, this has been a side of food i've been neglecting. i set about to set this right on saturday evening. since i don't actually know much aboutmexicanfood, and i don't even speak spanish, i wanted to try and find something highly rated, while still having a menu in english. carnitas we arrived at dos taquitos at about 5:45pm. i was worried when we first came in, the outside seating looked packed. when asked if we wanted outside or inside, we just asked for the first available. they seated us inside, and i guess i should have realized pretty quickly that this was a big mistake. i have very poor night vision, and could barely find my seat. i needed my cell phone light to be able to read the menu, and it took several minutes for my eyes to adjust enough to be able to find the salsa and chips. i had to use a flash and my pictures still turned out

great place, worth the price. my family and i eat here fairly frequently. we love the eclectic dishes with authentic flare. the pozole is excellent, as is anything you order there. while it is more expensive than your standardmexicanchain restaurant that serves canned refried beans, the food and atmosphere are well worth it. the drinks are always great, it's one of the few places that makes a decent mojito. i highly recommend it.

dos... what's happened?!?. i will start by saying dos taquitos has been my absolutely favoritemexicanrestaurant in raleigh for about a decade. i love the atmosphere and the food. over the years i have seen their prices increase again and again. this is understandable, as the demand is high and economy slow. that being said, what happened?? i recently went back to dos and they have made a number of changes, one of which was to reduce the portion size (and not the price) of a few entrees. come on guys, don't call an entree enchiladas and then bring out a plate with a few tiny taquitos on it! no bueno!!

authentic and just lovely. oh, dos taquitos, i dream about you at night...

i love that when you walk into this place you feel like you could be somewhere in central america. i love the crazy amounts of artwork they have displayed on the walls (including the graffiti) and the frida theme they have in the women's bathroom. it's a unique experience and that's what dining out should be.

the food and drink is obviously a big winner, too. amazing steak tacos here. whatever they marinate their steak in is to die for. their fajitas are delicious and of fresh quality, their pico de gallo and salsa are well made and i always fill up on their yummy salsa before i make it to my meal. they have a wonderful mango shake for non-drinkers and terrific margaritas that aren't watered down like a "number 16 please" typicalmexicanplace.

i generally like the servers, too. i feel like they are friendly and cute but not invading your personal space or conversations too much. i have also found them to be helpful and actually having a valid opinion when asking them for help in ordering.

i've taken many people here for their first visit, and 90% of the time, it's a big winner. it's definitely one of my favorite places in town; the prices are very reasonable and you are getting a meal that you can't make better at home because the latina grandmother doesn't share her secret recipes with anyone...

this restaurant should not be listed under "$$", it would be more appropriate in the "$$$-$$$$" range. the food was below average for anymexicanrestaurant, it was incredibly overpriced and the lighting is so dim that waiters often have to bring book-lights to clip to the tables just so guests can read the menus. at first glance the decor appears homey and inviting, but after our eyes had adjusted while waiting for our food an inordinately long amount of time, it felt more like we were in a south-of-the-border episode of "hoarders". not recommended unless you don't want to see your date or you have natural night-vision like riddick.
