absolutely dissapointed. absolutely disappointed. i've been to deville many many times. i've spent countless of money on this restaurant with my co-workers. today as i was ordering my burger, my waitress asked if i wanted to exchange my fries, for a house salad or caesar. without telling me there was an extra charge. so i agreed to the healthier choice. when my bill came, i asked her to explain why i was charged 4.00 for a mediocre side salad. she said i told, i argued back no you didn't, she then said yes i did. i work in customer service, i deal with this everyday, you do not argue with a client, and fail to mention a extra charge. i will not be going back there, and so should you. i will spread the word on their average menu, and imbecile waiters. dont waste your time. go to the old port which offers you sublime service.

i didn't know meatloaf could be tasty.... i worked right beside this restaurant and have been many times for lunch and a few times for 5a7s. i love their businesses lunches which have a new theme every week, the best so far was irish week where everything on the plate had some form of liquor in it. i typically have their salads for supper, however the other day i had their meatloaf and it was quite frankly amazing.

the only downsides are the noise, prepare yourselves for a full house any time a day or night, and the price. don't get me wrong, great value for money but it is a pricey night out.

i had the bacon weaved meatloaf which was very good. nice decor also, cool place for a bite before a movie or evening out. they also have a cocktail menu.

...food portions are quite big. they are a bit pricey but the quality and quantity make it worth it. i never was disappointed with what i ordered. you can have all the classics such as cheeseburgers, ribs, pastas, fish n’ chips, sandwiches, salads, as well as their specialities. we also got the well-known fishbowl drinks which is are great concept, but for 24$ it didn’t taste like there was much alcohol in it, you don’t get tipsy even by sharing it with my friend.....

downtown diner. they always have a wait at this place, the food was pretty good, but i think id prefer a burger from somewhere else, i did enjoy my experience though there, but its a little pricy for what you are getting. i do think its a good restaurant to go out with a group of friends. the drinks looked really cool, but i didnt order any

wished i'd ordered a burger. food was just okay. given price and reputation, i expected better. i had the lamb shank and the meat was not falling off the bone. mashed potatoes were not toothsome and were weirdly spiced. my son had rotisserie chicken which came with about three cups of rice and no vegetable. my husbands meatloaf was dry. also they called midday to tell us that another party would be taking our table two hours after our reservation which turned out not to be an issue but i found off putting.

went here for dessert for the first time. i wanted to try a burger but i was too full from the meal i'd had less than 2 hours before. tried the devil's food cake served with ice cream and chocolate chunks. it was wonderfully moist and tasty. i don't like chocolate desserts that are so sweet and sugary you can feel your teeth decaying with each mouthful. this was not the case! there was some kinda pink frosting in the centre of the cake that was a nice little surprise. service was prompt and friendly. i'll definitely be returning on my next trip to montreal. my coworker had the strawberry shortcake with a cheesecakegenevieve.iezzoni base and she like that as well.

had lunch with colleagues, everyone loved it !!! great food & service !!! great vegan burger !!

i had been wanting to go here for so long, and i finally did and it was a huge let down. this place is so over hyped. the ambiance is way better then the food. i got a club which there isn't many ways to screw it up and i could not even pick it up with my hands because the entire sandwich fell apart! on top of that the waiter didnt even bring us water until 10 minutes after receiving our food. and we didnt receive a drink menu.
very disappointed.

had lunch there. generous portions, tasty dishes and fresh ingredients. tried 2 salads and the steak fries platter; all were perfect. will definitely come back again to try other items.

definitely one of the highlights of my trips was this place as i was craving lobster, and it’s one of the only places i’ve found in montreal that actually do serve lobster.


i ordered the blta (bacon lobster tomato avocado), which is to die for their fries are amazing too!!

their pain perdu is okay but not the best i’ve had way better.

i've been to deville twice and i've always felt like i was welcomed there. the décor is absolutely stunning, reminds you of a real diner, like the ones you see in movies and tv shows with an extraordinary pink theme. 

their seating area isn't huge so make sure you call to reserve before showing up announced. the clientèle is mostly high-class people, but i've shown up once after school wearing a hoodie and leggings and they'll still welcome you. the only thing that's a bit disappointing is how loud it gets especially during the evening because the tables are very close to each other. 

their drinking menu is also very versatile, they have a lot of cool options and diverse ones, also mixes that you've never tried before! the drink is very rich in alcohol and the taste is just phenomenal.

i've had the chance to try their philly cheesesteak rolls as an appetizer and let me tell you, they are delicious, definitely worth it. very cheesy and rich in meat.

their salads aren't like any salad; they're huge! my friend and i split a general tao salad and the cambalache salad. they are both very filling, huge portions and delicious, very generous in meat.

the staff is friendly, very knowledgeable and also very patient. the food is prepared pretty quickly.

i would recommend this place if you're celebrating your birthday, if you're going out on a date or even with a friend!

deville dinerbar is a great location in the dowtown area to go have a great meal with friends. it has a cool ambiance and atmosphere , great decor reminiscent of the a 50's style american diner.  love this place, it has everything on menu to please any palate. portions are huge but pricey. great for saturday night dining and lunch. highly recommend, service is friendly and accommodating.

first off the ambiance, the setting, the layout are all real nice. the staff even nicer and the waiter had a really good knowledge of items on the menu. he helped us through ordering. the mac and cheese wonton appetizers were delicious with the side of marinara sauce.
the deville burger was nice with the double patty with a really generous portion of fries. for dessert we had the donuts but...be warned...there's a lot of them in there so be ready to share.
i'd definitely want to go again to try out more of the menu.

had the adam's beef ribs and the pop malt shake.

ribs were very tasty, the meat came clean off the bone with very little effort. didn't quite taste the root beer flavour in the bbq sauce, but it was very good sauce regardless.

the jalapeno cornbread was interesting, dusted with icing sugar to give it a bit of sweetness. the jalapeno was very noticeable in the bread but didn't have any spicy heat to it, just the flavour of the pepper.

the slaw was good in my books. despite all the ingredients being diced into the tiniest of bits it manages to still have a nice crunch to it. very refreshing compared to the very vinigary slaws i've had recently.

shoestring fries have never been my favourite, i prefer thick cut or steak fries.

there service was very fast and attentive considering the place was starting to fill up halfway through my meal. they were still quick to check on drinks, and provided more napkins without prompting them.
