absolutely dissapointed. absolutely disappointed. i've been todevillemany many times. i've spent countless of money on this restaurant with my co-workers. today as i was ordering my burger, my waitress asked if i wanted to exchange my fries, for a house salad or caesar. without telling me there was an extra charge. so i agreed to the healthier choice. when my bill came, i asked her to explain why i was charged 4.00 for a mediocre side salad. she said i told, i argued back no you didn't, she then said yes i did. i work in customer service, i deal with this everyday, you do not argue with a client, and fail to mention a extra charge. i will not be going back there, and so should you. i will spread the word on their average menu, and imbecile waiters. dont waste your time. go to the old port which offers you sublime service.

i've been todevilletwice and i've always felt like i was welcomed there. the décor is absolutely stunning, reminds you of a real diner, like the ones you see in movies and tv shows with an extraordinary pink theme. 

their seating area isn't huge so make sure you call to reserve before showing up announced. the clientèle is mostly high-class people, but i've shown up once after school wearing a hoodie and leggings and they'll still welcome you. the only thing that's a bit disappointing is how loud it gets especially during the evening because the tables are very close to each other. 

their drinking menu is also very versatile, they have a lot of cool options and diverse ones, also mixes that you've never tried before! the drink is very rich in alcohol and the taste is just phenomenal.

i've had the chance to try their philly cheesesteak rolls as an appetizer and let me tell you, they are delicious, definitely worth it. very cheesy and rich in meat.

their salads aren't like any salad; they're huge! my friend and i split a general tao salad and the cambalache salad. they are both very filling, huge portions and delicious, very generous in meat.

the staff is friendly, very knowledgeable and also very patient. the food is prepared pretty quickly.

i would recommend this place if you're celebrating your birthday, if you're going out on a date or even with a friend!

first off the ambiance, the setting, the layout are all real nice. the staff even nicer and the waiter had a really good knowledge of items on the menu. he helped us through ordering. the mac and cheese wonton appetizers were delicious with the side of marinara sauce.
thedevilleburger was nice with the double patty with a really generous portion of fries. for dessert we had the donuts but...be warned...there's a lot of them in there so be ready to share.
i'd definitely want to go again to try out more of the menu.

deville is a great place to go with friends as it has such an upbeat, fun atmosphere. they do comfort food well, i would highly recommend the mac and cheese won tons or the chicken and waffles. when ordering appetizers the portions are actually pretty big so just be careful not too order too many courses, even if there are just so many delicious options to choose from. the menu is extensive and offers options for people with all kinds of varying taste preferences from salads, to burgers to seafood. the staff is always friendly and accommodating, especially given how busy the restaurant gets. i'd definitely recommenddevilleto people i know especially if they are looking for comfort food and fun dining experience.

an absolutely go-to spot. there are not many restaurants that can appeal to a wide variety of demographics and tastes, butdevillegets it right. the food, ambiance and drinks are delicious. i went last night with 3 friends (including one who is gluten free) and we all had fabulous meals. even further, we had reservations at 9 pm, and by 10:30 people were still walking in to be seated. definitely one of my favourite places in the city and highly recommended.

i had been todevilledinerbar about 4 years ago, shortly after it first opened, and had liked it then. while staying at a nearby hotel this week, i thought my two colleagues might enjoy having dinner there. i had described it to them as an upscale, modern diner. all three of us enjoyed a very nice meal.

we started out with a couple of appetizers. the first was seoul food lettuce tacos, which was a tasty fusion of mexican and mostly korean flavours. i particularly liked the shiitake sesame salsa. the second dish was salt and pepper calamari. the peruvian aji roja sauce provided a pleasant sweet and tangy balance to the salt and pepper batter on the calamari.

a couple of us had the blackened cajun salmon, with just enough heat to make it enjoyable.

not your typical diner fare. that's a good thing.

i went todevillefor my best friends birthday, we've been meaning to try this restaurant for over two years! we were so happy! we ordered the philly cheese steak spring rolls ( amazing !) mac and cheese wontons ( yummy!) , crispy chicken on waffles ( delightful!) and the apple pie ice cream sand which ( heavenly!) the waitress was super friendly, good music, and fast service. the drinks were good and we were overall super satisfied with our experience :)

lovedevilledinerbar!. was a little while since my last visit, and i enjoyed it as always! comfort food classics with a twist. mini lobster rolls, philly cheese steak imperial rolls, fried won-ton stuffed with mac and cheese, fried chicken and waffles, etc... great drinks (daily specials) and a nice set up on the patio in the back. definitely a good spot for lunch or diner.

good food and good service. i went todevillewith 3 friends before a concert. it was busy at the restaurant but we were never rushed. the waitress was very nice and patient when it took us forever to decide (because everything sounded so good). there was a slight mix up with one of our dishes and the manager came right over and spoke to us. when the mistake was rectified the manager came back to ensure everything was ok. the waitress was very friendly and personable. the good was very good. there were many items that i would loved to have tried, but couldn't. will be going back soon. definitely would recommend to others.

il était temps !. wow! il était temps que quelqu'un ouvre un restaurant comme ça! nourriture, drinks, ambiance et service, tous impeccables! on voit tout de suite que ce sont des expert en la matière et andrei le serveur etait tout simplement parfait. aimable professionnel et présent. je ne sais pas ce que la personne en-dessous veut dire, mais il est clair qu'il y ait de la jalousie ou de la haine quelque part, p-ê meme un compétiteur dudeville;) on a commence par les tacos au thon qui sont tout simplement delectable. thon rouge saisi aux sesames sur salade asiatique dans un taco wonton, servis avec aioli lime-wasabi. mmmm... ensuite, nous avons essayé les côtes levees d'adam (boeuf!!!!) avec leur sauce bbq rootbeer et le burger deville. les côtes levees étaient tendres et savoureuse. je n'ai jamais mangé des côtes de boeuf aussi délicieuses. le burgerdevilleest officiellement un classique. on goutait vraiment le boeuf, c'est presque comme si on les faisait à la maison, mais sur pain brioche de boulangerie française loll on a terminé avec les beignets haaaaa my god, just amazing! je pense qu'il devrait faire une carte client pour les beignets pour avoir le 7e gratuit ;) bref, ne vous fiez pas aux commentaire haineux en-dessous, car je vous assure que ce restaurant est un must sur l'île de montreal. je ne serai pas surprise qu'il en ouvre d'autres :p

it took lots of convincing to get me to go to deville's. why? well i had just eaten lunch and i was full. but you know what, i decided to go and take a couple bites off of isa's and my bro's gf's meal. and am i ever happy i did!devilledinerbar is located on stanley a tad north of ste-catherine. it's funny because as we were eating on their terrasse, i turned around i noticed we were in my friend cat's old old apartment's  courtyard (from about 13 years ago!). funny. anyhoot, this place is quite large, for downtown at least, with at least 40 seats on the terrasse and at least 100 and then some inside.  now, this place looks like a fancy diner, i loves it: marble tables, fancy lamps and cool banquettes. it has a very nice feel to it. it's very chic and fancy yet feels homy. i still felt underdressed as i usually do... this restaurant serves lunch between 11 and 4. they have a huge menu. a tad too huge but hey, they have good stuff on there so i don't mind so much. they also have a lunc

the divas had plans to spend saturday afternoon checking out the montreal food truck scene with vegan vixen, sweet pea, bellatrix, p’tit frère & co.  unfortunately, the weather refused to cooperate so we had to scramble to find last minute reservations.  it is generally difficult to find reservations on a saturday night., but for 8 people it is nearly impossible.  though not the simplest of tasks, we’re never easily deterred and when you’re a diva, things tend to work out for you!  after numerous calls and a somewhat desperate plea via twitter,devilledinerbar came through for us big time.  it’s times like this we absolutely love our diva life!  and to top things off, we got a reservation on the coveted terrace, something a girl made sure to point out when she approached us, eyes wide, and said “they never reserve on the terrace, how did you get that”

epic!. funky, hip resto that plays on the diner theme a bit. this is not mel's diner where you go for fried eggs and coffee with a hang-over. this is a cool, trendy resto smack in the middle of downtown on stanley btwn ste-catherine and de maisonneuve. don't expect diner prices cuz it is not a diner. with a bar, dark lighting with purple chandeliers, staff in black and cool deco, do not expect to see flo. i read some reviews before coming so i had an idea what to order. the prime rib dip was like a rostbeef dip sandwich but a 1000 times better. the roll was like melt in your mouth butter, and the meat was omg tender. came with a side of skinny fries. cooked to perfection. i tried to have just 1 but they were incredible and i had to eat them all. meal was huge, so no need for an entre. sandwich was $20 +/- but certainly reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients and the size. dishes on the menu include quality ingredients like prime rib, lobster and shrimp, so the prices were totally reasonable considering what you got. my friend had the tuna taco which she loved. for desert i had thedevillefood cake. $14 sounds crazy, but it was not a slice of cake, it was actually a whole cake + a scoop of ice cream. could easily feed 3-4 people and was the best chocolate cake ever. at 6'4" and 230lbs, i am a big guy with an appetite to match, but it was the 1st time in 20yrs that i did not (could not) finish my desert. budget $40 per person with no alcohol and pace yourself cuz everything is huge. if you think $20 for such a sandwich is expensive, then go to mcdonald's for a mcribb. resto is not that big so going as a big group would not be advised. 2-4 people per table is just perfect. 100 feet from peel metro, and 25 feet from indoor parking (it is downtown, so expect downtown parking prices). over-all it was awesome. know what to expect and you will love it. i repeat, this is not mel's diner

good diner food, lots of drink specials.devilletruly is a "diner" and a "bar". it's a hip, young joint that seemed to be filled with locals from the university. i'm sure the drink specials bring them in - there really are a lot of choices and some really creative concoctions! but that's not all folks... they really do have a wide-ranging menu too that's also very creative. honestly, the burgers are interesting, but the hamburger meat itself is quite average to me. it's all about the extras and condiments with these burgers. i tried the fat cat burger which contains a bbq shortrib- i tried that alone and it was packed with flavor and had a nice crunchy exterior. you will get messy eating these burgers - just check out the pics for how huge they are - a normal person cannot unhinge their jaw to eat it. the appetizers and sides we had were spectacular. the philly cheesesteak rolls had the best seasoned and extremely tender beef inside while the cheese sauce had a beer cheese taste to it. the crunchy wrap on the outside really worked well. and the mac n cheese was very good too. loaded with cheese and had a slight sweetness to it. but the star of the show was dessert - the beignets. i will dream of these. came out super hot and fresh. sort of like donut holes rolled in cinnamon and powdered sugar - but wayyy better! and the sauces that come on the side were great - chocolate and caramel. can't decide which? have both at the same time! service was slow, but not abnormal for the area.
