delhi 'o' delhi is a fine diningindianrestaurant and you can tell immediately from its sleek decor and smartly dressed waiters that this place is not "cheap eat". we didn't have a booking so was just trying our luck to see if they have a table - it was only 6.30pm and the place was pretty packed.

specialising in north, central and south indiandishes delhi 'o' delhi is a cut above the regular. a hatted restaurant with a greater emphasis on presentation, it's cuisine, unlike the many curry houses that tone down the flavours for australian palates, is unapologetically authentic. we found the dal makhani, a slow-cooked black lentil stew with ginger, and the kozi pudina, free-range chicken stew, cooked with mint and lemongrass, were excellent, tasty dishes. the chutney beef, braised with mint, chillies and ginger, was one of the hottest dishes i've had in a long time. the menu describes it as 'not for the faint-hearted' and they weren't kidding. it really took a lot of yoghurt and a few parathas to finish it.

one of the fewindianplaces we would visit again. good service, byo, delicious food. on the more expensive side but i think it justifies it when considering how it is much better than nearby competitors.

not very impressed. have meant to try this place for ages and finally got around to it, due to many positive reviews. i found, personally, the flavour and spice was lacking. i thought it was going to be pumped up authenticindiancuisine but it was sort-of-pimped up (and really expensive) westernised indian-ish food. butter chicken was the standout (ok only), and the rest was “meh”. worst peshwari naan i’ve ever had - virtually no filling. oh, and they didn’t deliver the mango lassi i ordered and paid for. never again.

we had a group of 20 people ( under social distancing) for a birthday celebration for lunch today. i have to say i was blown away by the service, and food was the best meal i have eaten in anindianrestaurant... from the 4 different starters to the 4 mains. the curries were so delicious. i would highly recommend the restaurant and would be going there again with friends very soon.

greatindianrestaurant located in the hearts of newtown, the place is small but don't judge by its size. the server was nice, bassist us with the menu and recommend the popular dishes. the chicken pepper was the best dishes, it has an complex insane of flavour that goes well with the naan. (to be continued)

what they serve isn't anywhere close to the authenticindianfood. service sucks. when asked why we didn't get what we had ordered, we were told that it's because we are very busy... expensive and totally not worth it.

busy cosy cornerindiana short walk from newtown station. place was packed - a good sign. we sat outside since it wasn’t too cold and we’re glad we did as inside is very crowded and a tad stuffy.

service is fine, efficient.

menu is fairly standard traditional indian. has all the classics.

we had the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala with some rice and naans. everything was nice, fresh and good flavors. food came out pretty quickly.

overall a good place if you are looking for classicindiandone well.

there are no shortcuts here and they must be one of the bestindianrestaurants in sydney. i had some great rich and spicy goat and a simple dish of green vegetables that they'd packed with flavour. great little interesting samosas too. you do need to be prepared to pay a fair bit for this quality, though.

goodindianrestaurants are surprisingly hard to find but i’m glad i found this one.

the staff are attentive but not obtrusive and the service overall was always faultless.

the food was soooo good. i normally steer clear of butter chicken but thought this one sounded worth a shot and i’m glad i gave it a chance because it was the best i’ve ever had by a very very long way. the way they grill the chicken first gives it a really nice charred, smoky flavour that you don’t usually get.

the korma was really good, the lamb was tender and there was not fatty or chewy bits, just nice, soft meat but it was a little on the mild side of mild. i was hoping for a little more kick but it was by no means bad.

the chicken entree was one of the most delicious things i’ve ever eaten too.

the naan was light and fluffy and soft and a decent size too.

only downside i would say is that while they are byo, they charge $8 per person corkage which does seem a little steep. i’m happy to pay for corkage and like to bring my own wine because i get a better choice of wines and it’s not about saving money but this does seem a little excessive.

just another fakeindianrestaurant to cheat the gullible. please try kamedhenu for southindianor newtown northindiandiner. taste-wise wont have much flavor just an overpriced curry house where almost all items will taste the same.  as i usually say have a mtr ready to eat from a supermarket than eat here.

if you want authenticindianfood, this is definitely not the place you should go to.
the ambience is amazing though. you can sit outside or inside and the atmosphere is really lively.
good looking restaurant
not good enough food though.

i had a craving for authenticindianfood this evening but i was disappointed with those at delhi 'o' delhi.

i asked for spicier servings of curry chicken and chukandari chicken. i would say that theindianfood at the restaurant were adapted to the australian taste and were mild and less authentic. for a price of $27, i would expect more curry too.
