specialising in north, central and south indian dishes delhi 'o' delhi is a cut above the regular. a hatted restaurant with a greater emphasis on presentation, it's cuisine, unlike the many curry houses that tone down the flavours for australian palates, is unapologetically authentic. we found the dal makhani, a slow-cooked black lentil stew with ginger, and the kozi pudina, free-range chicken stew, cooked with mint and lemongrass, were excellent, tasty dishes. the chutney beef, braised with mint, chillies and ginger, was one of the hottest dishes i've had in a long time. the menu describes it as 'not for the faint-hearted' and they weren't kidding. it really took a lot of yoghurt and a few parathas to finish it.
