there are no shortcuts here and they must be one of the best indian restaurants in sydney. i had somegreatrich and spicy goat and a simple dish of green vegetables that they'd packed with flavour. greatlittle interesting samosas too. you do need to be prepared to pay a fair bit for this quality, though.

the restaurant is nice and cozy. it has agreatambience and the staff are very welcoming. this is not your regular indian restaurant so the menu is very well crafted. the food is of high quality and standards. they have an extensive wine list as well. the staff provide excellent service without being intrusive. i have personally enjoyed the food and service and had an opportunity to try one of the lovely banquets they have to offer. to discover the finest indian cuisine don't miss out delhi-o-delhi if you are around newtown.

the service was amazing here and the food was very fulfilling! my first indian food experience surely did not disappoint. we ordered the butter chicken and the potato and cauliflower vegetarian dish, along with saffron rice. all of these were sogreatand in particular i loved the vegetarian dish the most, it was very flavourful. the dessert's presentation was excellent, the pastry was warm and delicious, however the syrup glaze was too sticky for my taste. but all in all, i'd definitely recommend as i'll be returning for sure!

authentic food withgreatstaff. this is one of the few restaurants in sydney where the food flavour is close to authentic indian taste. the food was well balanced in terms of spices and taste and the staff was friendly. javed himself was very friendly host and it seems like he was genuinely interested in the quality of food they served. certainly a very good experience and would go for another.

poor service, above average food. we'd been looking forward to delhi o delhi for a while, but hadn't gotten around to going. upon arriving, they didn't have our reservation, and while we were seated, we saw several tables of customers come and go as we waited for our meal to be served. unsure if we'll give them another go. bitterly disappointed given othergreatreviews.

great place. one of my favourite restaurants in newtown. the service is always outstanding. you never feel rushed or cramped like in some of the other hotspots in town. the food is reallygreattoo. the only point is that i find the portion sizes to be on the small side (and i am a 5 foot 3 female). i'll still keep coming back though because the curries are so delicious and it's always a lovely, relaxed night.

great service,greatfood. i ordered takeaway from delhi 'o' delhi, the food came 15 mins before estimated time which was great. there was a small mix up with the order, with one missing item. i called the restaurant and they were very good and replaced it straight away, delivered within 10 mins and gave us some complimentary papadums and dips which all tasted fantastic.

good food for an okay price.. went here with my family for my brothers birthday.
have walked past a few times and decided to check it out, very impressed.
normally i feel you can't really tell with indian style food what is good and what is bad but i think from this experience i can say that this is way above all the others. the food quality is superb. the prices are a little higher then average indian but you get what you pay for, don't be put off by the comments about portions, if you order bread then its enough!

my only problem was that i felt some of the wait staff were quite pushy and the desserts were smaller then expected.

other then thatgreatrestaurant if you enjoy indian food and would like a more upper class indian dining experience.

i recommend the dish with okra in it!

stylish indian restaurant withgreatfood & service. tonight was our second visit to this restaurant. first visit was excellent, second was to the same standard. everything from the well presented staff to the tasteful decor, to the fab food is top notch. started with the vego entree platter - more finesse than you'd normally expect at the local indian restaurant - gorgeous flavours. moved onto the chutney beef (we were warned it was hot and it was - great) along with the butter chicken to balance out the palate. friendly efficient service - a really well managed restaurant which values their customers. we'll be back.

top notch. i was there for my birthday last night, there was 10 of us and the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious! i had the spatchcock as a starter, which was very nice andgreatvalue. i had the red hot beef chutney as a main which comes with a health warning and rightly so! the hottest thing i've eaten in a long time, not for the faint hearted. i thoroughly enjoyed it though. i'd definitely go again!!

my friends and i keep finding out new places to eat every time. so when someone suggested delhi o delhi, we took it on.. food isgreatwith a variety of meat choices i haven't come across at any one place, and cooked beautifully.. service is by far the best i have experienced so far in australia.. this place has become our favorite in just the one trip..

went to this restaurant after hearing so much about it, met all my expectations. service was fantastic.. we were late to our booking but seated immediately. i wanted a specific indian dish as an entree however it wasn't on the menu so the waiter recommended the palaak partri chaat which was fantastic. for main we ordered the goat aloo & butter chicken. the goat was tender & delicious and the butter chickenwas full of flavor. garlic naan came out piping hot and we went for seconds! overallsgreatplace gave both food & ambience 8/10
