busy cosy corner indian a short walk from newtown station. place was packed - a good sign. we sat outside since it wasn’t too cold and we’re glad we did as inside is very crowded and a tad stuffy.

service is fine, efficient.

menu is fairly standard traditional indian. has all the classics.

we had the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala with some rice and naans. everything was nice, fresh and good flavors. food came out pretty quickly.

overall a good place if you are looking for classic indian done well.

there are no shortcuts here and they must be one of the best indian restaurants in sydney. i had some great rich and spicy goat and a simple dish of green vegetables that they'd packed with flavour. great little interesting samosas too. you do need to be prepared to pay a fair bit for this quality, though.

casual elegance and refined service were the hallmarks of our meal at delhi 'o' delhi. complimentary papadums were followed by superb naan bread, and the butter chicken was rich and fragrant, i only wish that there was more of it!

good indian restaurants are surprisingly hard to find but i’m glad i found this one.

the staff are attentive but not obtrusive and the service overall was always faultless.

the food was soooo good. i normally steer clear of butter chicken but thought this one sounded worth a shot and i’m glad i gave it a chance because it was the best i’ve ever had by a very very long way. the way they grill the chicken first gives it a really nice charred, smoky flavour that you don’t usually get.

the korma was really good, the lamb was tender and there was not fatty or chewy bits, just nice, soft meat but it was a little on the mild side of mild. i was hoping for a little more kick but it was by no means bad.

the chicken entree was one of the most delicious things i’ve ever eaten too.

the naan was light and fluffy and soft and a decent size too.

only downside i would say is that while they are byo, they charge $8 per person corkage which does seem a little steep. i’m happy to pay for corkage and like to bring my own wine because i get a better choice of wines and it’s not about saving money but this does seem a little excessive.

terrible food and awful service. the cottage cheese was rubbery and chewy. the dal makhani was over done and tasteless. the server had no clue about anything and was extremely disinterested.

entrees were nice. we had the chick pea and potato entree which was surprisingly served cold. also had the samoas which were fresh and delicious with just enough heat. mains we ordered chicken tikka and husband ordered the beef chutney dish. now the description was in red. the only dish on the menu written in red. maybe a warning before ordering it about its spice level?.
hubbie and i like it spicy, very spicy but this here was spicy inedible. it was insane. i don't eat beef but tried half a tablespoon of sauce on some cheese nan and omg!!! my mouth was on fire. that type of fire that lingers and ruins anything else. i thought about walking it out with my tounge out but people would probably think i was mad. hubbie was dripping in sweat. he ate a whole mouthful of meat and sauce. we ordered some side yoghurt but that couldn't even mask the heat. honestly hottest dish i have tried ever and inedible. we left it. shame cause flavours were nice.
we ordered the eggplant and prawn curry as well as hubbie was still hungry. this was nice with prawns cooked well.
breads and rice were delicious. service was attentive tonight. definitely a memorable experience but for the hottest dish in the world over the deliciousness of the food.

just another fake indian restaurant to cheat the gullible. please try kamedhenu for south indian or newtown north indian diner. taste-wise wont have much flavor just an overpriced curry house where almost all items will taste the same.  as i usually say have a mtr ready to eat from a supermarket than eat here.

this place is approx 10 min by walk by newtown station.
food was good.
bill will be approx 50 for two.
though i found staff as over friendly and they were talking nonsense.may be they were over excited by finding desi customer as the place was full of foreigners .
ambience was ok.

if you want authentic indian food, this is definitely not the place you should go to.
the ambience is amazing though. you can sit outside or inside and the atmosphere is really lively.
good looking restaurant
not good enough food though.

the food is undeniably sumptuous with a wide array of choices. the ambiance was cozy and relaxing. was able to use liven here and got my $50 rebate! i will give it 5 out 5 for service and for the quality of selection of foods and services. love coming back to this place like my second home!

visited 16 april 2017, food & service both were very disappointing. the food was served cold. it was already prepared and was served just using microwave. total waste of time and money. hence, would not recommend anyone.

i had a craving for authentic indian food this evening but i was disappointed with those at delhi 'o' delhi.

i asked for spicier servings of curry chicken and chukandari chicken. i would say that the indian food at the restaurant were adapted to the australian taste and were mild and less authentic. for a price of $27, i would expect more curry too.
