mrs. having visited daci & daci on recomendation whilst visiting tasmania from uk, we found the food and cakes very tasty andgoodsized with the cake display visually mouthwatering (unfortunately i am diaabetic) if we lived in tas we would be back every week. whilst there have been negative comments, remember this is a new business and finding the right staff is never easy. give the business a chance and look forward to all the crinkles being ironed out.

food asgoodas anything i got in paris last year with much better coffee thankfully. seats a bit uncomfortable and tables tiny but i couldn't care less, was so busy eating portuguese custard tarts and paris brest with chocolate custard and pears, and salmon avocado with dill mayonnaise on a delightfully springy focaccia.. sigh.

terrible food. ordered the avo on toast with eggs and it was incredibly sour, the restaurant didn’t seem to care in the least bit that the food was literally inedible. on putting a review on facebook the owner responded in an extremely rude manner claiming we had finished almost all of our meal and asked not to pay for it. she also implied that this is how it’s supposed to taste, i’ve had a lot of avo on toasts in melbourne with lemon oil drizzle, this one was inedibly sour. they dont take criticism well and have no idea on whatgoodcustomer service is, obviously.

this place has been sold as the best avo smash in australia and when the 3 other people i was dining with all ordered it i should have known. and when i tasted it was indeed true!

we got there on a rainy hobart saturday morning and it was pretty crowded; fortunately the weather nice enough that we could sit outside. sitting outside you had to order inside and breakfast finished at 11! i suppose all day breakfast hasn't caught on in tasmania yet; maybe in 10 years time!

nonetheless we got out orders in on time and very shortly after that they came out. the coffees were excellent, my breakfast beans was nice but the avo was truly divine! the dukkah worked so well with the avo and the fetta.

of course after that we had to have cakes! moved inside and got tables without difficulty. all the cakes was very sweet. the eclair perhaps traded form for function (not enough chocolate!), the mojito could have had more rum (we did start the gin tasting at 9am), the portuguese tart was one of the best i've had and the concorde was really really chocolatey.

a lovely place to go after salamanca market. the lunch menu lookedgood(pies, sausage rolls, rolls and pastries) but it wasn't quite like the breakfast menu - be nice if they did that all day!

daci&daci bakers was right next to the waterfront in the heart of hobart. they open from 7:00 and seven days a week.
the bakery was a great place for breakfast and brunch or maybe for dessert as well. there were so many different savoury pastries and sweets, cakes, tarts on the shelves! don't forget thesegoodlooking danish and croissants!
*smoked salmon tart-good pick for savoury breakfast and served with some green leave salad. the tart shell was not as flaky as i expected, but the smoke salmon was the highlight, with strong smoky flavours and nice saltiness.
*eclairs-traditional french sweet choux pasty dessert with vanilla cream filling. small in size, but had sweet and smooth filling.
the quality of food was around average, but i do enjoyed the atmosphere there. i would recommend this place who was looking for nice breakfast/brunch option.

had the smoked salmon tart. it'sgoodat first but then became overwhelmingly salty and only saved by the relish that came with it. the food isn't fresh either. it comes from the display racks and reheated when ordered.

as someone from sydney, this was an extremely memorable place and we stumbled to this cosy cafe by chance. we came here 2-3 times for a selection of pastries, lunch and cake. the coffee was sogoodand the pastries were amazing. next time i visit hobart, i'll 100% be back. :)

le concorde wasgood- but far too rich. i can eat chocolate for days, but this was impossible to finish. my friend also ordered one and somehow managed to finish nearly all of hers. we both felt sick all afternoon. if you get one, make sure to share.

also, interesting to note that they charge extra for their pastries if you eat them at the cafe.

did not eat in. grabbed a couple of things takeaway. 1) morrocan lamb sausage roll - beautiful flavour in lamb and pastry was good. it did not need it, but it came with a side of sauce (not really sure what it was). $10 is more than i normally would expect to pay but it was larger than the usual sausage roll. 2) le concorde (belgium chocolate meringue and mousse) - looked very beautiful, mousse was rich but the meringue bits were a bit too sweet for me (but i don't have a sweet tooth) 3) croissant -goodsize. nice outer crunch, soft on the inside.

i visited daci and daci for some afternoon tea. was walking along the street and the cakes looked so good, it jus attracted me into the cafe. i was quite disappointed on two things: the cakes didnt taste asgoodas it looked, overly sweet with no texture or balance and secondly the wait staff jus kept shifting me table to table. i am guessing if they didnt want customers sitting at a certain table they should simply place the reserved sign.
overall not worth the visit.

the score for this cafe is both over and under what it deserves.

it deserves a 1 for it's scrambled eggs and salmon. the egg was overcooked and rubbery. lacked flavor and fluffiness.

the salmon should not have been plonked cold on the bread as it made it very soggy.

the food took a long time despite barely anyone around.

the hot chocolate tasted barely of chocolate even though i asked for extra chocolate.

thegoodnews is the pastries are amazing. looking around most ppl only have the pastries.

this is what saved it from a 1 star rating.

tldr; have pastries only and you'll love this place. anything else and you'll have instant food envy.

yum! daci & daci really know how to setup a bakery full of goodness! food can be a little pricey but it is all ofgoodquality. service could be improved a little, it gets rather busy.
