mrs. having visited daci & daci on recomendation whilst visiting tasmania from uk, we found thefoodand cakes very tasty and good sized with the cake display visually mouthwatering (unfortunately i am diaabetic) if we lived in tas we would be back every week. whilst there have been negative comments, remember this is a new business and finding the right staff is never easy. give the business a chance and look forward to all the crinkles being ironed out.

this place was meant to be a quick stop before and event, ended up changing plans just to come back a third time over a short hobart trip! thefoodquality is the selling point here with most desserts being made fresh daily. the staff are also lovely and educated about the store and quality/process of thefoodprep etc. would highly recommend.

terrible food. ordered the avo on toast with eggs and it was incredibly sour, the restaurant didn’t seem to care in the least bit that thefoodwas literally inedible. on putting a review on facebook the owner responded in an extremely rude manner claiming we had finished almost all of our meal and asked not to pay for it. she also implied that this is how it’s supposed to taste, i’ve had a lot of avo on toasts in melbourne with lemon oil drizzle, this one was inedibly sour. they dont take criticism well and have no idea on what good customer service is, obviously.

have visited twice here for brekkie during or trip to tassie and both times i have been happy with thefoodserved. first dish was avocado on toast and it was absolutely delicious. spiced bean dish was also terrific. hubby ordered brioche eggs florentine and while he was happy with flavour, eggs were somewhat overcooked. we aren’t really fussy like that but a lovely british sounding waitress happened to be walking by and noticed and offered a replacement. it’s things like that, that make a difference in your experience. i’d definitely come back when we visit again. oh and they have delicious bacon!!!

before arriving in hobart, i was searching up cafes to visit and this bakery popped up. we went in for breakfast. the place has a wide array of savoury and sweet pastries on display, cakes and bread. we got the almond croissant, apple & berry struesel and a sweet potato tortilla, with coffee for drinks. thefoodwere really tasty that we decided to take away somefoodto try later that day. we got the lamb/rosemary pie, chicken pie, pork & fennel sausage roll, roast pumpkin salad and the maple & pecan tart. i really love both the sweet snd savouryfoodhere, and would definitely recommend this place, lovely place to chill or hang out with friends.

daci&daci bakers was right next to the waterfront in the heart of hobart. they open from 7:00 and seven days a week.
the bakery was a great place for breakfast and brunch or maybe for dessert as well. there were so many different savoury pastries and sweets, cakes, tarts on the shelves! don't forget these good looking danish and croissants!
*smoked salmon tart-good pick for savoury breakfast and served with some green leave salad. the tart shell was not as flaky as i expected, but the smoke salmon was the highlight, with strong smoky flavours and nice saltiness.
*eclairs-traditional french sweet choux pasty dessert with vanilla cream filling. small in size, but had sweet and smooth filling.
the quality offoodwas around average, but i do enjoyed the atmosphere there. i would recommend this place who was looking for nice breakfast/brunch option.

thoroughly enjoyed thefoodand ambiance. it was like being in a lovely little café somewhere in europe. i would certainly recommend the café and a stroll around salamanca place afterwards to walk off the calories!

a let down after all the hype this restaurant has received. was highly recommended the croissant, but mine came out slightly stale, cold in places and soggy. i understand that most of theirfoodis pre-cooked to be displayed, however they could've at least quickly toasted up ourfoodbefore serving. it's a shame seeing as how it tasted quite nice, but there was just no effort in serving the food.

had the smoked salmon tart. it's good at first but then became overwhelmingly salty and only saved by the relish that came with it. thefoodisn't fresh either. it comes from the display racks and reheated when ordered.

this place was amazing, great for breakfast and lunch. beautiful selection of sweet and savoury food. we had the spinach, leek and feta pastry and the smoked salmon tart. costs a little extra to have in as they warm up thefoodand serve with a salad. we enjoyed our meal so much we decided we would come back the morning of our flight back to melbourne so we could eat it at the airport!!

the score for this cafe is both over and under what it deserves.

it deserves a 1 for it's scrambled eggs and salmon. the egg was overcooked and rubbery. lacked flavor and fluffiness.

the salmon should not have been plonked cold on the bread as it made it very soggy.

thefoodtook a long time despite barely anyone around.

the hot chocolate tasted barely of chocolate even though i asked for extra chocolate.

the good news is the pastries are amazing. looking around most ppl only have the pastries.

this is what saved it from a 1 star rating.

tldr; have pastries only and you'll love this place. anything else and you'll have instantfoodenvy.
