cracked egg diner

this place is phenomenal. i had the southwestern benedict. their corned beef hash is the best i've ever had. the place was packed, but that did not affect our service one bit. it was all hands on deck. i watched the owner bus tables and seat people in order to maintain the flow of business.

went to this restaurant this weekend for breakfast on saturday and sunday. the service was amazing, the food was sooooo good. on my first day i had the western omelet with the hash brown. wow!!! the hash brown was very crispy and delicious. the second day i had the eggs chesapeake omg wow! service was friendly and food was great. the apple fritters are incredible, if your ever in daytona, check this place out!! be patient to be seated because the food it well worth it!

don't miss the diner. i am a big fan of diners after staying at perry's ocean edge saw the diner on the way to aunt catfish on our way to the air port stopped in to check it out food was diner food place was well decorated not to much just right as we left owner was there to thank us great idea.

acceptable food with long wait. staff is very nice, food is on par with other comparable establishments. the wait of 40 minutes from order to delivery is unacceptable especially when this appears to be the norm demonstrated by conservative visits.

great food and great price. my husband and i visited the cracked egg diner after reading the reviews on urbanspoon. the food was wonderful, the portions were large, and the price was great. i ordered the veggie omelet and it was spectacular. the waitress was very sweet. the restaurant is very clean. i highly recommend eating at the cracked egg diner. you will not be disappointed.

great service, unimpressive food. i was surprised that on a busy saturday morning we were seated almost immediately. our waitress was really nice and helpful and the food didn't take forever to come out.
i ordered the corned beef hash, two eggs scrambled, and toast. their "wow" portions were a joke. i'm 5'2, 110lb female, i could have ordered another plate & still would have been hungry. the corned beef hash was a pile of mush. no chunks of meat or potatoes. tasted & looked like it was made a week ago and thrown on the griddle to be warmed up. i'm not one for onions and this dish was filled with them. i'm afraid to see what the portion size would have looked like if i ordered it without them. and for a place that has the word "egg" in the their name, you would think that would be the one thing they would know how to cook but they were raw and tasted like "egg-beaters" not even real eggs.

service was a bit that great. but the food is amazing best omlet i have ever had!!!

breakfast untruths. terrible chipped beef on toast, coldly, totally tasteless. contrary to description of dishes the omlets did not cover the whole plate, scrawny portions, poor presentation of food, no finesse. thy should have pig troughs instead of tables. totally horrible breakfast experince. an omlet, coffee, and juice, 13 dollar and change, that didn't include tip. had to ask for everything, crummy service, oh and awful acidic bitter coffee.you will never see my face or money there again.

why did i wait so long to visit the cracked egg, this place is out this world yummy! and the service was great, even watched the owner running around making sure every guest was happy! i will be back with out a doubt!

breakfast for two. my wife had the fried apple fritters and i had the cheese and ham omelet. the omelet was cooked about right and tasted o.k, but there was not enough egg to really seal the ham & cheese. the omelet was also greaser than i like. the fritters were hot and good. the service was slow, not enough staff. my wife had to wait a long time for a coffee refill. overall, this diner is an average three star.

the diner looks like a dive- and it kind of is, but those are usually some of the best places for good food. we visited on a monday morning and the restaurant was quite busy.  i figured the patrons were mostly snowbirds with a few year round locals sprinkled in.  the tables are a little tightly packed into a small dining space but we didn’t mind.  we were hungry and had heard great things. i went with the eggs chesapeake ($12) after reading rave reviews about it online.  two poached eggs topped an english muffin and a crabcake with hollandaise sauce and a side of hash browns.  the crabcake was great- an excellent alternative to the traditional ham-based eggs benedict.  i was quite satisfied. chad actually ordered two entrees, neither of which was very big.

if you're wanting something quick don't come here. the whole experience was awesome. from one of the owners working the front to the taste of the food...mamosas to friendly servers...the cracked egg does breakfast on vacation right!

you must try this place!. this place id a cute little gem in the city. the food was amazing!! the owners and staff are super friendly! family owned and operated :)

great breakfast! excellent service!. my husband and i ate breakfast there today, june 11, 2014. it was very good! we both had one of their omelet variations. all of our food was excellent and our service was just as good as we'll.
