rude and unpleasant.. went here or acoffeewith a friend the other day and was blown away by the sheer rudeness of the woman behind the counter. surely "i'll be with you in a minute" isn't that hard to say. being ignored for minutes at a time while ordering and then again when trying to pay is just really poor customer service. her levels of aggression were really unnecessary too - do your customers a favour, get a new job!

places like this won't exist for long judging by our experience. terriblecoffee- bitter and burnt. and the food? well mine was returned twice after which i gave up. sloppy cheap bacon and cold corn fritters. poached eggs that were cooked in so much vinegar that's all you could taste. cold cheap toast. really all just not good. luckily as a newtown local i have plenty of other excellent choices to spend my breakfast dollar

fantastic food and coffee, the sticky date cake is in my opinion the best one in sydney! also love the warm chicken salad, the beef burger and the pineapple cocktail (it's actually fruit frappe)! the service is quite relax but friendly. it's the café to go on a relax friday night for a wonderful meal or sunday afternoon for a nicecoffeeand tea.

very ordinary food with poor service.coffeequite good although orders were all mixed up. would not be back purely based on how filthy the cafe is. even our menus were appalling, with caked on food and all torn. reading it was very difficult! am surprised they haven't had food safety breathing down their neck.

an ok location for a hangout

if i was living in newtown, then this would be my hangout spot to catch up with friends. i often see this café always full, and i can understand why.

thecoffeeis alright here and can't say it is the best i have had. they do have a variety of cakes available. the one cake that i did try was the cheese cake and that was quite nice.

very poor service. food andcoffeewas good. but the chef was screaming and shouting. they cannot handle a busy cafe. i am not sure if i recommend this cafe.

somebody call the police, i think the staff here are being held against their will. i don't think i have ever seen a more miserable and grubby bunch of staff. the tables are devoid of condiments so your eggs benedict will get no salt, because it won't be offered. both food andcoffeeare very ordinary. we will not be back.

we stopped by here for acoffeeas one of the few places open later in the evening that will just servecoffeeas mostcoffeeshops shut by later afternoon or only restaurants serving meals. it is located on king street. service is fairly friendly.

went with a chai latte and latte. they tasted fine but wish it was hotter in temperature.

i have this craving forcoffeeat weird hours when most of the cafes seem to be closed. this was one which not only was open but it had an old european street cafe feel. we ordered a large cap and a blueberry cheesecake. the slice of the cake was humongous, so much so that both of us were unable to finish the entire piece. but the taste was divine. it just had this barely there sweetness and the berry compote on top genuinely had berries. thecoffeewas alright as well and it did come in a large cup unlike other cafes that tend to serve largecoffeein a small cup.

corelli's rules. it's our favourite cafe. my housemates and i went there literally every morning for at least a year, and we still frequent it quite often. 
there's no friendly bullshit here - the staff are normal human beings that don't flash around fake smiles to everyone and are a bit on the cynical side. 
obviously, don't order any food because it doesn't look great (and the kitchen looks dodgy) - although the nachos look all right and the crumble is actually really good -they serve it to you heated up and with this big dollop of triple cream. 
thecoffeeis burnt half the time, but they give you tiny teddy's with with it and they're open until midnight. 
this place is not about the food or thecoffeethough. it's a newtown staple. 
overall, corelli's is the pinnacle of freedom.

late weekend arvo, a pit stop between appointments and a place to rest the feet.  thecoffeeturned out so good, it was the right choice to stop. not as packed on breakfast and brunch mornings but service was efficient. corner location is great, with a side road and outside table seating as well.

i read a few reviews to see if i'm being a little harsh but i don't feel so bad now. i live 10 minutes down the road and pass it everyday on my way home. i've only ever been here forcoffee(which is average) but this place for whatever reason always attracts a crowd and i can't understand why. i haven't eaten here as every time i walk past i look at what the dishes look like sitting in front of the diners outside i am turned off. the food in my option is below average and with so many better choices it baffles me that people continue to dine here. maybe that's a good thing, if everyone keeps going to corellis that means there will always be a table waiting for me at my fave cafe.

slow service on a slow day. while the food is passable the service is slow. friendly, well meaning but vague wait staff seen to have no comprehension of turning tables over or gettingcoffeeand meals delivered promptly with any sense of urgency. food arrives without cutlery, served with an 'oops' .. only to watch another table be served food by the same waitress, before bothering to provide the necessary eating utensils.coffeewas mediocre and food was overcooked yet cold. there are other options nearby who serve better food and more quickly. if you don't have taste buds or have plenty of time to waste, then corellis is the place for you.

after avoiding this cafe for a while as it never looked very enticing, we went there when lots of other places were closed. slow service. the icedcoffeewas tasteless. we both ordered the breakfast tortilla - bad decision. flat open crispy tortilla covered in bacon and cheese but with absolutely no flavour. know i know why we'd been avoiding it for so long

well..coffeewas good but that's about it. staff were rude, waitress didn't even bringcoffeeto the table they put it on the one next to us and got us to grab it ourselves.. could definitely learn some manners!!
