imagine a typical foodie from delhi, arriving in the city of mangalore and seeing some good south indian dishes (of which i am not such a great fan) having his first meal, with mixed expectations. coral jazz is that good place to hang out and have a few beers, but food taste is something not to boast that much of, though did a decent job. had prawns ghee roast, chicken tikka andfishcurry. for all those going, would recommend poultry than seafood.

accidentally i bumped into this place today, but was slightly disappointed with the food. on the other hand i was highly impressed about the hospitality, staff and the ambience of the place. not knowing what to order we decided to stick withfishthali and some good old prawns, but the prawns were extremely high priced when compared to the quantity. the food was delivered after long and unfortunately most of the items in the plate were cold, including the majestic bangda. the rice quantity was less and we had to pay extra to get more rice. overall the flavours in the plate were also not great and for 200 plus taxes thefishthali did no justification. i am not very sure with other items in the menu, but whatever we ordered was highly priced and not up to the mark. i would not recommend it if you want to taste some authentic flavours.

i had a awesome dinner today evening , made by chef subrato in coral , ocean pearl. so here is my review.

prawn avocado soup :
this was the beginning of the awesome dining experience i had for long time. the dish was decent flavored creamy light green color hot soup , it was preparing me for an delightness i had a long long time ago. it is good starter for continental 3-course meal.

poachedfishsalad:
the chef had lightly marinated the dish and it went very good along with salad. yes bit odd to havefish, although we are fine with prawns , squid in a salad , but afishreally hugged the veggies along with lightly salt and pepper and other powders together contributing the wholeness of this dish.

normally the third and final dish should be over the top and it was. this incredible dish was not marinated with kitchen salt , yet it was amazingly tasty , because the flavor was elevated by the seafood salt that came along , throwing the dish into a new level. i do not find anything wrong here , difficult to find fault with this one because it made me drowned into its seductive taste of seafood breeze and i have got captivated when my taste buds was dancing inside. i could not get more out of this i wanted more and more of it.

green apple kiwi mousse.
yes in a long long time i had a complete 3 course meal , with climax a dessert. i felt sorry for it , because i had to destroy that beautiful looking thing. it is perfect ending in a course of the night , the combo of green apple and kiwi fruit went along quite well. never thought ocean pearl could deliver excellent continental dishes. thank you.

mangalore has many beautiful places and many good hotels too. one among them is the ocean pearl. 💕 from ambience to food it's amazing and a really comfortable place for a stay as well. they have separate floors for non veg and vegetarian food. we tried the pomfret fish, kalmi kabab, mutton biriyani, ending our meal with some halwa 😍😍, i couldn't take pics of the other dishes since i couldn't resist eating 😋😋. among all of them, i loved the pomfretfishand halwa the most 🤤🤤. so when you visit mangalore and crave some good food, this is the one for you 😍😍

silent and subtle interiors they had..very peaceful..customer service good and warm hospitality..we tried theirfishthali which was topnotch!squid,prawns,kingfishwere tasted fresh n spiced so well n tasty that drooled us to order one more.also ordered north thali as well which all the veggy side dishes.tomato soup was on another level to explain the smooth texture of the soup.these two thalis are must try!

we had beautiful dining experience here. it was a pan asian festival there but coming to mangalore and not eatingfishis not acceptable. we had a combination of both dishes that coral provides. meal was a very pleasant experience. we had soup, lovely pomfret fry, dim sums for starters. thai curry with aromatic jasmine rice was very satisfying. we really enjoyed the caramel custard. the fry was the expensive part but the freshness was worth the money.

this is a must go to place forfishthali in mangalore. it’s named as meenugammath. it has squid gheeroast, prawns masala, dried shrimp chutney powder,pomfret curry and anjal fry all included in the thali. taste is awesome. thefishserved here is fresh n cooked to perfection. must try in mangalore

we ordered a lot more food but our hunger overpowered our photography! nevertheless we enjoyed every bit of our seafood thali. we ordered a huge pomfret , the size was shown to us prior to making it and it was cooked to perfection.... the service is great and ambience too... the sea food thali consisted offishcurry,fishfry, crab masala , prawn ghee roast , rasam , boiled rice, and dryfishchutney.

one of the many non-veg restaurants in ocean pearl hotel located in kodailbail, coral is a very luxuriously set restaurant serving delicious continental dishes. the dining hall is very huge and well maintained. we were very warmly welcomed by the staffs and guided to our table.

we had started off with their hot chicken sweet corn soup. it tasted really good and well balanced odor to make you want to get more of it. the mix chicken fried rice is one of their on demand dish as it seemed. it had a very fair quantity and did justice to the price with great flavor and taste. the mushroom risotto did come handy in terms of quantity but was a classic case of quantity over quantity. it tasted very pale and was really hot to have an easy go. their friedfishdishes were served clean and fresh with the naan and chappati which went really good with each other.

the staffs were really attentive and it was definitely a first class treatment over all, but they really need to take care of the issues about the food on the other side.

a must visit if you are a seafood lover! they have been having this seafood festival called 'meenu gammath' which serves a full fledged meal that includes neer dosa, squid ghee roast, prawn masala, twofishfries, mangaloreanfishcurry, rasam and vegetables. typing all of this makes my mouth water already! go grab your thali now😅

had visited today ... we orderedfishthali .... it’s was brilliant... for 300 rs, der is anjal fry, prawn , crab , a vegetable..rice, papad ,.. which is a bargain for 300 rs...good quantity of food...throughly enjoyed ...

one of the few places in mangalore with great service. food is alright but i’m always inclined to like a place for the service. i usually visit this place with family for lunch. my family loves thefishmeals here. the indian food here has been good, i did try continental once, that was a disappointment. overall like this place.
