congee noodle house

congee noodle house 粥麵館 on main x broadway is your one stop noodle, rice, and congee house. they are opened late at night and a crowd favorite for many during lunch time. the location is convenient needless to say. the service is prompt but they don’t care much about your personal properties. they will push jam a dirty cart full of dishes right up against your jacket (even when there is clearly not enough room). the floors are sticky and the washrooms are filthy. this place certainly is a winner.

going downhill. ordered the roast pork on rice and asked for a side of ginger-green onion oil like i have always done in the past several years at this place. they now charge $0.25 the quantity of meat on the plate is very little. do not recommend ordering the bbq meats on rice dishes. other items are typical cantonese dishes. they have family style dinner specials like 2 main dishes, side order of bbq pork, including soup/rice but abit pricey compared to other restaurants.

okay chinese food. tried this place 4 mil b-day (since she is not fan of szechuan) i find this style of cantonese cuisine rather bland n boring. ordered beef n gai lan, chix n black bean chow mein, sweet n sour pork and squid w/ salt n chilis.

was o-kay but found their menu way to big and confusing

thin-tasting congee (chicken mushroom) only enlivened by soy sauce and chilli oil. request for water went unanswered. not worth the hype. big disappointment. nowhere near as tasty as congee at eg sun chiu kee in calgary.

mmmhmm. yummy mushroom and fish congee.

even with the noodles being past al dente, i still like the wonton mein at congee noodle house. i find this bowl to be an acceptable alternative to heading out to richmond, especially if you having a bad day.

best congee!. one word, yum!

best chinese food in the lower mainland (and they make a congee so good even a white guy can eat it with pleasure). atmosphere inside is great- always packed with a ton of energy.

the price has changed. the menu's pics didn't work any more. the price is more expensive than the price in the menu's pics. hope that i can post it soon so people can order easier

best place for chinese food. they make the best congee as well as the deep fried chicken wings. there are just so many good items to mention in this review. we have never had a bad meal there and the service has always been fine.

horrible customer service begging for tips. the food are nice, i like it. however, the services all of them are terrible rude.

we walk in in dinner time, pretty busy there. we wait for 5 mins for the tea after we sit down. i was thinking what to order around 5 mins, then, a waitress come over and said:"you better order now".

after we order food, the waitress never said a word such as ok, thank you. then in the whole meal, no waitress come over for add any tea, after i order more food or ask for tea, the waitress never speak. then after we ask for the bill, the waiter said thank you.

due to the robot style service, we decide not leave any tips. we put down the bill amount in the disc, a waitress come over right away and get the money, then she realize no tips, she said:"u can just leave the tips in the disc". i'm shock for her require. then i turn the disc up side down , soon she see my friend stand up she run over to get the disc,and she look, no tips there, she stare at my friend back and said in front of me:"oh my god".

the waitress have no thank you, welcome, yes, ok, no words. we paying for their salary but we are not paying any more for bad service. it no different than asking money in the street.

how does the congee noodle house not serve congee?!?!
they said they had no more gas and couldn't make it...but they were able to still make noodles? i don't get it! and the service was terrible!!!! i practically had to beg for one cup of tea. pretty lame experience and i wouldn't recommend it.

for $7 you are practically guaranteed to be full and also so warm and taken care of after. if you live nearby, you might want to go home for a nap.

buddha boy ordered the chow mein with three kinds of meat 三絲炒麵. the meat consisted of shredded pork, shredded chicken and bbq pork. good amount of meat on top of crispy noodles, however, it was a bit salty.

not that i expected any service from this cheap restaurant, in addition the waitresses are extremely rude!
