love, love, love the tuna stacker appetizer! i could just order 2 & make it my meal, it's my fav & i always order it when dining @ cobalt's. we are locals & have always been pleased with our food. we don't go in the summer, so we have no complaints of long waits. but we don't eat out much anywhere in the summer here b/c of crowds. we've had good service & just ok service. but definitely one of our top restaurant choices on the area.

had the ribs-overcooked,no great enthusiasm by anyone to offer a credit or complimentary beverage- left 2/3rds of them and did not take to go

three of us ordered the cowboy ribeye with fried leeks. all of our steaks were cooked to our liking and delicious. place is quiet busy. so if you get seated near the bar be prepared to be infringed upon people ordering drinks and just hanging around it. overall it is a good place to have dinner with friends and family

location and atmosphere looked promising- dinner, massive disappointment, especially for the elevated prices. waitress didn't keep drinks refilled. courses arrived before previous was finished- felt very, very rushed. dishes were not removed and piled up on the table making eating courses additionally awkward. main courses were terribly overlooked and not served at the proper temperature. we never mind paying for good food and good service. cobalt failed to provide the level professional service or quality of food expected from restaurants of similar price range.

we had a group of 9 and they told us a 2 hour wait.... we waited and we ended up sitting after only an hour, which was good but obviously our server was tired by then... he was very arrogant acted like he knew everything and then screwed up 2 of our orders. i had ordered off the gluten free menu which he brought me because i have a gluten allergy. my plate arrived completely wrong and then another one came out with the sauce i'm allergic to still on the plate!!! i was comped my meal and a glass of wine but as a server you have to be extremely careful with patrons with allergies. another one of my friends never got her soup with everyone else's until he was reminded. food was not great but the atmosphere made up for it.

we went here on the suggestion of our hotel. i had the special, cornmeal fried trigger fish with carmelized mashed potatoes with andouille sausage and stewed okra and tomatoes. delicious. the ambience was enjoyable and i think the prices were reasonable. my only criticism would be that the raw oysters were extremely small (why bother serving nickel size oysters-especially for the price?) and that the service got spotty towards the end when the check was needed. overall, i would definitely eat there on our next trip. we ate at numerous seafood restaurants during out trip....this one ranks number two behind louisianna lagnappia.

i am colbalt's number one fan but it is not a place to go if you are starving and ready to be seated when you get there. the point of the atmosphere at colbalt is for the diners to relax and enjoy the view and their company. waiters are wonderful but they also are not running around because they want you to savor each moment of your night looking out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. so, if you have to wait an hour or if your waiter takes a moment to come take your drink order, don't complain, chill out! and enjoy the night.

great atmosphere. probably the best restaurant in the gulf shores/orange beach area. everything we tasted was excellent. the peppercorn crusted filet was awesome.

don't let the eye-rolling hostess deter you from this restaurant. almost left after being seated. didn't know asking the hostess for a high chair and the happy hour specials were below her pay grade. firecracker shrimp, grilled shrimp, and pizza are outstanding.

still one of my favorites on beach. we went on wednesday at 5:30 to celebrate a birthday. go early for no wait! i had been before but no one else in our party had. everyone was very pleased with their food except for 2 sides, asparagus was "coffee stirrer thin" and the jambalaya rice cannot satisfy those used to louisiana food. crab bisque, vinaigrette dressings and the entree fish were above and beyond. great service, sherri r!!!!!

had a wonderful meal and great service. crab bisque, honey balsamic dressing and salad, pan sauteed grouper over poblano and white cheddar grits. will be back!

we went at 6 pm on a friday night to avoid the long wait and only waited 10 mins. the food was really good- had grouper, fresh catch wa hop, and shrimp pasta. everyone was very pleased. the prices are a little high but this is the best meal we have had all week.

tourist trap. my husband and i ate here while in orange beach for our anniversary. i should have known when we walked in the door and there was a souvenir shop set up by the hostess stand that this wasn't going to be what i expected. pros: great view, great wine list. cons: crowded, noisy, 1 - 1.5 hour wait, food was not bad but not great either for the wait and what you pay. this is definitely not where the locals go. probably won't be going back.
