their breakfast buffet is beyond huge. the selection is broad and the food is delicious. some pastries are a bit dry, but overall the food is worth the trip.serviceis sometimes slow and drink refills are not offered easily. call for reservations on the weekends, otherwise your wait can be significant.

nice place, not the cheapest.. i've now eaten here twice, dinner and sunday breakfast/brunch.servicewas spotty at dinner, wrong portion size brought to table, waitress could not coordinateservice(over a year ago).

fast forward about 9 months, a large family group eating sunday brunch. because it is buffet,servicewas less of an issue, but the staff were friendly and efficient. they have made a concerted effort to offer locally grown/produced items (cheese, meats, honey, etc) very good food. not cheap, but it is a splurge worthy place.

we tried to return about 2 weeks later, only to be told that they "don't take reservations". huh?

super great food! theservicewas "spotty". the people behind us had a awesome waiter. ours was terrible. i tried to give her an out by asking her if she was busy tonight and she said "no". wow- no words.

slow but yummy. theservicewas a little bit slow for my liking here. there was apparently a fairly sizable order in front of ours, so our order took an hour to come out. our waiter, however, gave us some free chips and salsa while we waited for our food to come out. the organic spinach salad with pears and pecans was absolutely delightful. the carved bbq brisket and redfish on the half shell were also great dishes. the cheddar mac and cheese is their most popular side and is most certainly worth a taste.

not good for any price!. wow, great resort, great customer service; really, really mediocre food. very disappointing.

my wife and i had a dinner and a breakfast at cibolo in the last 2 days and both were a waste of money at about $50-60 each.

for our appetizer, we tried a goat cheese something-or-other that was a small, luke-warm tray of goop. the accompanying bread, crusty baguette slices, was tough and chewy. not a good start.

my wife had a so-so hamburger ($13, if memory serves) but my chicken pasta dish was overburdened by smoky and bacon flavors. it was a heavy mess. to put it in perspective, you'd send this back if it was the olive garden.

the breakfast the next morning was about as poor. we decided to avoid the buffet, partially because we didn't want to compete with the throngs of people waiting on omelettes. the food took quite awhile to arrive (at least 15 minutes). the omelette was ok but unremarkable. the eggs benedict were pretty unremarkable - again, an ihop or denny's breakfast would have been hotter and faster. the waffles were undercooked and almost cold.

to their credit, i let management know (after yet another bad experience at another restaurant on the property) and they credited back one of the meals.

overall, we had a positive experience at the resort - it's really pretty, the overall customerservicewas very good, including at the restaurants.

but cibolo was so poor that we ended up leaving the property for breakfast on our last day, simply to avoid another mediocre and expensive dining experience.

lunch. ate lunch several times while at the resort for a meeting. food was good,serviceattentive and price about right. not really much above average hotel fair, but they seem to be improving rapidly compared to some of the other reviews i have read.

i was severly let down by this restaurant. from theserviceto the food it was awful. theservicewas beyond awful. the food was nothing special. the chicken was actually raw... not pleased. there are about 500 other places to go in san antonio. it's a shame that this is going to be the face of san antonio. i hoped for so much more...
