i had eaten the bison meatloaf atcibolomoon the night before and it was very good, and remembered there was bbq on the menu. how good could bbq be in a resort hotel? neither of us were that hungry, so we took a chance and decided to return tocibolomoon and split a bbq plate. our server suggested getting another side, and the kitchen would plate it as two meals. sounded good, so i ordered the macaroni and cheese as well. i cannot remember what my husband ordered. plate came with half sausage, brisket and a rib.

chefs atcibolomoon... this is the best bbq i have ever eaten in my entire life! we have eaten at most of the best bbq places and award winners in texas and oklahoma, butcibolomoon tops them all. we are returning to san antonio in june, already planning to drive out to the resort just to eat bbq.

beautiful atmosphere, and friendly staff. it took a while for our waiter to come by, even though there was only us and a few other diners (5:45pm on a friday). there were no real vegan options, other than some mediocre salads and a tomato soup. we opted for the fresh fish dinner, which was grilled mahi mahi on a bed of green beans ... at "market price", which was $31 each. since we were staying at the resort (a fun and cheap getaway using marriott points), we went to the super target down the street for sandwich/snack items for the room. that $75 (unlike the $75 + tip for thecibolomoon meal) went a long way over the course of our 3-day stay.

not good for any price!. wow, great resort, great customer service; really, really mediocre food. very disappointing.

my wife and i had a dinner and a breakfast atciboloin the last 2 days and both were a waste of money at about $50-60 each.

for our appetizer, we tried a goat cheese something-or-other that was a small, luke-warm tray of goop. the accompanying bread, crusty baguette slices, was tough and chewy. not a good start.

my wife had a so-so hamburger ($13, if memory serves) but my chicken pasta dish was overburdened by smoky and bacon flavors. it was a heavy mess. to put it in perspective, you'd send this back if it was the olive garden.

the breakfast the next morning was about as poor. we decided to avoid the buffet, partially because we didn't want to compete with the throngs of people waiting on omelettes. the food took quite awhile to arrive (at least 15 minutes). the omelette was ok but unremarkable. the eggs benedict were pretty unremarkable - again, an ihop or denny's breakfast would have been hotter and faster. the waffles were undercooked and almost cold.

to their credit, i let management know (after yet another bad experience at another restaurant on the property) and they credited back one of the meals.

overall, we had a positive experience at the resort - it's really pretty, the overall customer service was very good, including at the restaurants.

butcibolowas so poor that we ended up leaving the property for breakfast on our last day, simply to avoid another mediocre and expensive dining experience.

great!. my experience atcibolomoon was wonderful. the host's made me feel very welcomed as did my server. they attended to our needs and assured us our food was how we liked it. the manager came by and talked with us which made us feel important. time management was excellent. we had a great time and expect to go back for more!

worst experience ever.. my experience atcibolomoon. first impression. we walked in about 11:30 am and were seated outside of the dining room. it was good until we sat down.

(allow me to create the persona of the wait staff. think of these stuck up brats that think they are something extra special just for working there. they walk around expecting someone else to do their job with their nose so high in the air that you mistake their nostrils for their eye sockets. and their attitudes: terrible.

first: our waitress, after taking our drink order, blaitently ingores questions about the entrees. (i'm a pilot, i speak loud.) and then she walks off... and we wait..... and wait.... finally, after a few seasons pass as well as my hunger, the drinks arrive! (two teas) *remember the teas.

second: i ask about the food again. what does she do? gives me (the customer) attitude. so i grit my teeth and take it. i order the bbq sandwhich. my wife is so disgusted that she doesn't order anything. and again we wait, except now i'm upset and i start paying close attention to whats going on. food preparation time: average at best.

food arrives, the waitress slaps it down on the table and again, walks off, which i assumed she was going to get me some silverware.. wrong. keep in mind, when we sat down, the tables are empty with the exception of a nice looking candle. so we're sitting there, no sugar for our teas, no salt or pepper for the food, and no silverware. my outrageously expensive sandwhich is getting cold...

as i'm sitting there, my blood starts to boil. i count *8*, eight, ocho, waitstaff, standing around talking guys hanging all over the girls, while the manager hangs on the hostesses.

so i get up, i have to walk over and ask for everything myself and still they didn't bring sugar. food presentation was good, the bbq sandwhich itself was a different story. it tasted just like the hill country fare ready to eat bbq in the can. i've cooked better bbq myself.

summary: extremely disappointed. the manager needs to be fired and that restaurant overhauled because they are losing business every day because of the extreme lack of discipline. i will not be returning tocibolomoon.
