i had eaten the bison meatloaf at cibolo moon the night before and it was very good, and remembered there was bbq on the menu. how good could bbq be in a resort hotel? neither of us were that hungry, so we took a chance and decided to return to cibolo moon and split a bbq plate. our server suggested getting another side, and the kitchen would plate it as two meals. sounded good, so i ordered the macaroni and cheese as well. i cannot remember what my husband ordered. plate came with half sausage, brisket and a rib.

chefs at cibolo moon... this is the best bbq i have ever eaten in my entire life! we have eaten at most of the best bbq places and award winners in texas and oklahoma, but cibolo moon tops them all. we are returning to san antonio in june, already planning to drive out to the resort just to eat bbq.

awesome breakfast buffet

we ate breakfast here several times during our stay. choices on the buffet were plentiful - and regional. including fresh fruit. as usual with this kind of buffet - pastries were not the best.

their breakfast buffet is beyond huge. the selection is broad and the food is delicious. some pastries are a bit dry, but overall the food is worth the trip. service is sometimes slow and drink refills are not offered easily. call for reservations on the weekends, otherwise your wait can be significant.

nice place, not the cheapest.. i've now eaten here twice, dinner and sunday breakfast/brunch. service was spotty at dinner, wrong portion size brought to table, waitress could not coordinate service (over a year ago).

fast forward about 9 months, a large family group eating sunday brunch. because it is buffet, service was less of an issue, but the staff were friendly and efficient. they have made a concerted effort to offer locally grown/produced items (cheese, meats, honey, etc) very good food. not cheap, but it is a splurge worthy place.

we tried to return about 2 weeks later, only to be told that they "don't take reservations". huh?

rare to eat at a hotel's restaurant and think to yourself you'd choose to eat here if you lived in the area. never had a bad meal here!

super great food! the service was "spotty". the people behind us had a awesome waiter. ours was terrible. i tried to give her an out by asking her if she was busy tonight and she said "no". wow- no words.

beautiful atmosphere, and friendly staff. it took a while for our waiter to come by, even though there was only us and a few other diners (5:45pm on a friday). there were no real vegan options, other than some mediocre salads and a tomato soup. we opted for the fresh fish dinner, which was grilled mahi mahi on a bed of green beans ... at "market price", which was $31 each. since we were staying at the resort (a fun and cheap getaway using marriott points), we went to the super target down the street for sandwich/snack items for the room. that $75 (unlike the $75 + tip for the cibolo moon meal) went a long way over the course of our 3-day stay.

great breakfast buffet. came with an old friend and had early sunday morning breakfast. i made the most of the buffet experience and had a veggie omelet, salmon, capers, red onion, and fresh baked pastries with artisan meats and cheeses. it was a tremendous value considering i love all those foods. but i can see how some people wouldnt be pleased paying 20 bucks for bacon and eggs. it was a winner for me.

awesome again lol! i had the wife noodle & chicken dish last time(which is delish) this time i order the bison meatloaf wow!

very nice restaurant with extremely attentive staff, and absolutely perfect ambiance! food was good, but not great... i had the gulf crab salad and my wife had the red fish on the half shell with asparagus. she liked her meal; i wasn't very impressed...

absolutely beautiful restaurant. perfectly attentive service, and the best overall selection of food i can remember. come see the resort, and have a nice lunch or dinner. well worth the visit!

nice experience. with family staying at the hotel, we decided to give this place a try. you have to try the margaritas and all the appetizers we had were great (brisket, tequila shrimp and jalepenos stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon). i had the pasta, which was flavorful and comforting and my husband enjoyed a huge bone-in ribeye.

slow service. we waited for 30 minutes after being seated to receive our drinks. throughout the meal other drinks were extremely slow as well, in fact after i ordered iced tea, the server took so long that he offered to bring it in a to go cup.

the food was good. i had the shrimp and grits and it was perfect. marriott needs to concentrate on its servers and timeliness!!

heated up, frozen meals?. ate here while staying at the hotel. we got the impression that the food is not fresh---i.e is prepared elsewhere and just heated up in the restaurant. had the bison meatloaf and a chicken/noodle dish (wife). meatloaf was dry and appeared to have been sitting around for quite some time. chicken noodle dish looked like something plopped out of a frozen dinner and thrown into a microwave. i don't recommend this place at all.

slow but yummy. the service was a little bit slow for my liking here. there was apparently a fairly sizable order in front of ours, so our order took an hour to come out. our waiter, however, gave us some free chips and salsa while we waited for our food to come out. the organic spinach salad with pears and pecans was absolutely delightful. the carved bbq brisket and redfish on the half shell were also great dishes. the cheddar mac and cheese is their most popular side and is most certainly worth a taste.
