churchill's steakhouse

underwhelming. my husband and i made reservations at churchill's on saturday night for his birthday. we drove up the front expecting a valet; there was none. we were seated close to the kitchen door and didn't see our server for 20 minutes. she didn't take our order for over 30 minutes and only after i spoke with the hostess. our shrimp cocktail appetizer came 60 minutes after being seated. we were served one roll each (which was delicious) and the steaks were very good and seasoned well. our plates were only taken away long after we were finished and our water glasses only refilled after we had finished dessert. they did bring my husband some chocolates to wish him a happy birthday after we had paid the bill.
we've had steaks just as good at two other high-quality restaurants in the area and have had better service at almost every other restaurant, including fast food drive-thrus.
we were very disappointed and will not go back.

great for steak, not for service. we were treating ourselves to a night out for our anniversary and, since we both enjoy a good steak, decided to try churchill's. the rib eyes were flavorful and cooked perfectly. i was puzzled that other reviewers mentioned the delicious rolls [plural]. we were each served one and had to make it last because we didn't see our server again until the main course came. after we got our meal, he didn't come by to ask how our steaks were or if we wanted more wine; we didn't see him again until he noticed our empty plates pushed off to the side. when he stopped to clear them, we mentioned that we'd like to share a dessert. the creme brulee was mediocre [compared to clinkerdagger's] and we weren't given an extra plate. while the quality of the steaks would tempt me to go back, i've had more attentive service at red robin for a fraction of the cost.

outstanding daily special. my wife and i have recently lost our jobs, but still like to go out as a couple to just talk and plan.
we went to "wimpy" wednesdays where they have burger specials. in one word "awesome", we were down stairs shared a booth....had great service as always...
we have friends who budgets have been strained because of the economy....so money is tight, and we are sharing up to enjoy a full blow steak dinner during the holidays, and our anniversary the end of december.
it's a great place to met friends and break bread...and is fast becoming "the place" in downtown spokane to go for a great dinner, since the davenport palm court has remodeled and became the "palm court grill"...but is now a big size sports bar...

at last a true steakhouse. burn's steakhouse of orlando, florida has always been my bench market for a great steakhouse, well churchill's steakhouse blew that away.

great food, wonderful service, and very fine wine list....they make you feel at home. the flavors were just out of this world. the owner and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home.

swanky chic enviornment and to die for steak!. the crab and shrimp appetizers are super yummy and the steak is so succulent i cut it with my butter knife!!! they were a bit slow to take our order but that is because they were super busy. this place is like a mans cigar lounge with swanky music and fantastic wine. i would eat there 7 days a week if i could pull it off. the owner came to our table to greet the lucky guy with two blonds. nice guy.

a good steak. during our one night stay in spokane, we decided to eat at churchill's mainly because it was a short walk from our hotel. the beef there is top quality, and my steak was delicious. as was the creamed onion soup. one final note is just how friendly the wait staff is. especially compared to cities like las vegas, our waiter here seemed very genuine. so much so, it was almost suspicious. all in all, churchill's features food that is both familiar, and prepared with a great amount of skill.

great the first time i went. this place is quite pricey and the first time i went it was well worth it. the food was good, the complimentary bread was terrifyingly addicting and the service was great. the last time i went, however, my steak didn't have that nice crust on it, rather it was burnt at the edges. i imagine that this was a rare mishap, i hope anyways.

grizfanz. hadn't been here in years. we were in town last week and it was getting late and headed over here. it was late and they still served us.
we ate downstairs at the bar and had a great time. dan the bartender was awesome, super friendly and new what he was doing. the mgr lenny made us feel at home and was funny as hell.
now on to the food. prime porterhouse cooked to perfection (rare) melted in my mouth. the wife had the filet and it was just as amazing. our whole meal that night was well worth the price.
if you are in spokane, you need to try churchill's for dinner.

good and bad. i had the ribeye, mashed potatoes, and dinner rolls. the steak was cooked perfectly, the rolls were perfect and plentiful, and the potatoes above average. however the service ended at the meal. we ordered dessert and 45 minutes later it still had not been delivered, i got up and left, the rest of the party said that the desert arrived after and hour. i don't know if this was a one time thing or just poor service.

dang it!. this place could be so cool but it missing something, or alot of things depending on the night. my steak was not worth $35 for an 8oz steak. we wanted to have a fun night, not be put to sleep by the piano. guess i know where to take g-ma next time.

the steak was just average at best, and with the stuck up stuffy atmosphere and high prices, it's not an enjoyable experience.

by far the best steakhouse in spokane. food and service is amazing! go downstairs to the beautiful bar for a reasonably priced lounge menu (and fantastic piano player!) not a bad thing to say about churchills - i recommend it often to friends, family and co-workers.

finnally! real restaurant people.. unique to spokane restaurant scene are the owner and crew of churchills. good salt restraunteers that actually care about the restaurant and the people in it. warm and welcoming! this goes without saying the amount of care that goes into each plate, glass and butter server. definately the place for knowledgeable scotch and whiskey service. what a treat!
