amazing food!. what a great place! the cuban sandwhich is great, as are the lunch plates which come with rice, beans and plantains. they usually bring out complimentary soup as an appetizer, and the small filled cookies are to die for! come early as seating is limited and this place has become very popular.

seriously delicious food. holy cow.... i've been to chucherias hondureñas only a handful of times and they always leave me wishing i had a bunch of stomachs, like a cow.... their food is so incredibly delicious. fresh, flavorful, great portions. i always have their pupusas (corn cakes stuffed with cheese, topped with beans) and my husband gets the vegetarian sandwich. vegetarian and all, it is unbelievable. if you've never been, go! what are you waiting for?!

they only thing is that parking can get tricky since they're a tiny restaurant with about 6 parking spaces. we always go before the lunch rush. if you're interested in eating there at lunch and they're too packed, i'd order it to go. they make anything on their menu for take out. oh, and their staff is so nice. the owner, mayra, always treats you like family. she knew my name after my first visit there.

just a wonderful little gem of a restaurant!!!

down to earth food. if i had not searched for rest. in daytona beach i would never have found this place. and to my surprise it was the best thing that i did, place is small but it was extremely clean and the aromas coming from the front were heavenly. i went a few times so i pretty much got to order everything on the menu. and it was great!!!! plenty of food and the price was great. can't wait till next year this will be on of my regular vacation stops. oh, and i would like to thank the ladies for being so friendly kind of made you feel at home.

don't pass this up.. what an great place and what great food. this is the sort of restaurant you hear great things about and then have a hard time finding and when you see how small it is, you think that maybe you should go to the next restaurant on your list. that would be a huge mistake. i had lunch there and the food was awesome. we were greeted by a friendly young man that said that the restaurant was owned by his aunts and that they did all the cooking. i asked for some recommendations and he recommended the finger foods but said that everything was great. he asked if we'd like to sample the black bean soup which was a special of the day. he brought us each a cup of the soup and we know instantly that we had made a good choice. it was delicious!

we ordered/split the meat turnovers and griddle cheese corm cake. they were really special. the flavors just popped! i had read someone's review saying that the pineapple juice was really good. as a rule, i'm not a fan of juices and usually stick to water but something made me feel adventurous and i ordered it and boy was i glad.

we finished off with an order of poffertjes which were tiny dutch pancakes with butter and powdered sugar. the server explained how dutch pancakes ended up in a honduran restaurant and then explained that it would take a few minutes as they made it from scratch. we were in no hurry and it didn't take too long and wow was it wonderful.

i find it hard to say enough good things about this place.

outstanding!. chucherias hondureñas

i probably drove past this little honduran restaurant a dozen times before a friend pointed it out and recommended it as a really good place to have lunch. after having been back twice now, i wholeheartedly agree!

all of the magic happens in a small open kitchen just inside the entry door. it's about half the size of my modest home kitchen. you are greeted by an amazing flurry of sounds, aroma's and activity during peak lunchtime periods and you know as soon as you sniff the air inside the building that you're going to have something really good to eat.

the menu has a good selection of choices from appetizers to entree's, cuban-style pressed hot sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts and is vegan-friendly. thus far, all the dishes i have tried (including the pupusas de queso, the sandwiches, soups, etc.) have all been top notch. for dessert, try the poffertjes (a serving of small shortbread cookie sandwiches coated with powdered sugar) they are a sinfully addictive finale to a great meal.

whether you're in town for one of the annual events, looking for a new place to try, or just passing by on the way to the beach and hungry, i believe it's worth your time to stop in and try some of chucherias hondureñas's offerings.

their hours are 10:30 am - 4:00 pm on weekdays and 10 to 4 saturdays.

enjoy

fantastic! fresh!. not much to add as everyone has pretty much covered why chucherias hondurenas is a great find. great food, wonderful flavors, homemade tortillas (you can actually taste the corn, unlike commercially made tortillas that everyone else uses). the food is fresh and full of wonderful aromas and tastes from the spices they use. the ladies that run the restaraunt are very friendly and the food is reasonably priced. the final cap to all of it is: this restaraunt is extremely clean, including the bathroom. today was our first of many visits to come!
