chucherias hondurenas

mi cubanito. best cuban i have ever had, anywhere. served crisp and hot, not too much juicy stuff to get on your shirt. served with plantains with two dipping sauces - cilantro and a habanero, green and orange. not too hot, just right. it was just wonderful. service was very good. consistent. a great experience.

mussels al vino. be sure and ask that bread be served with these!

was looking for somewhere new and several friends steered us to chucherias. we were not disappointed! tucked away in the back of the market (which appears empty from the street) is a real gem of fine dining. everything we are was flavorful & authentic. the mussels were perfect (tip: be sure and ask that you receive bread with them.... the sauce is incredible but since they fresh bake each serving of bread we didn't get our bread until our sauce was cold but still yummy :d). i had a special with shrimp & a yucca and plantain mash that was to die for, my husband had the honduran and his steak was severely undercooked (he asked for medium and it was raw) but the flavors were good. the cocktails and desserts were great.... i enjoyed a blackberry mojito and the tres leches which i did not find to be strongly alcoholic despite other reviews saying that, i had to refrain from licking the bowl lol. my main caveat would be control your own timing. we weren't quite done with our appetizers when our entrees arrived. in a fine dining atmosphere that's always unfortunate but avoidable if you read this review and order each course as you go. the wait staff were friendly and hard working. i highly recommend enjoying a night out here :)

gold star.. this place was absolutely incredible from start to finish. the appearance was gorgeous, the food delicious, and excellent service. it had a very pleasant atmosphere. we unexpectedly got soup that was so full of flavor, and fantastic little cookies at the end of our meal, and it was definitely the icing on the cake. we will definitely go back again, without a doubt.

the mojito was possibly the best in this town. food is really good, very fresh. the service is improving each time we are there.

good food, not so sweet ending.. my husband and i recently went to this restaurant to try something new. our first impression was that we might have made a bad decision, because one of the waiters asked us if we had reservations and acted like it might be a problem if we didn't, even though there were about 10 empty tables. we did get seated, and then were helped by a different waiter who was very nice and gave great service. we were a little surprised by the limited menu, but on the other hand, a bit refreshing from some of the chain restaurants that have pages to choose from. we both selected an appetizer and entrees and waited. one of our entrees was the conch soup, which was delicious, but we were a bit shocked when the bill came to learn that bowl was $16. we understand that conch is not cheap, but were still shocked, it wasn't a huge bowl. however, all the items we ate for dinner were delicious. it was refreshing to have fresh, good food, served in the right proportions and dressed up with a bit of class. we had also decided on some desserts to finish our meals and ordered 1 tres leches cake at $7. it was a very small piece of cake that was ok at best. the alcohol was so overwhelming, that we couldn't taste any other flavor. other than that, and the one waiter, the service was great and the main food was delicious.

outstanding. this restaurant is an absolute gem. we had the most delicious meal from start to finish. even our drinks were fabulous and fresh made with premium spirits. the conch soup was amazing - hearty and flavorful. the desserts are not to be missed. the wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. what a delight!

amazing. went there on a daytona vacation, and it was some of the best food i've ever had. the sangria was great, the pupusas and chicken were amazing, and the catch of the day was amazing.

some of the best food i've ever had... seriously.. i just got back from central america, and the food there didn't even compare to this place. this was some if the best food i've eaten in a long time. i git the espresso, the pupsas, and yucca fries with garlic mojo sauce. and the atmosphere is just beautiful! there's a huge cobblestone fireplace in the back wall. everything was perfect!

great lunch today!!. we had a great lunch today at chucherias! their new location is great, nice clean atmosphere of almost like a custom built cabin with a big stone fireplace, fresh roses on every table and great food. i had the pan con bisteca which was great, comes with two dipping sauces a cilantro and i think a red pepper sauce. my wife had turkey panini which was also very good. we also started with a complementary cup of soup and had empanadas. this place is a little gem if you are tired of the same old restraunts in daytona - port orange area. great flavors, authentic food. we have not been there for dinner yet but will try it out soon!! a must visit place for lunch!!

exquisite!. if you don't mind waiting a few minutes to be seated the service is excellent. i mean it - excellent. juan & his staff are attentive, informative and lovable! the food...oh the food! flavor, tenderness, texture, color... just a truly perfect dining experience! the fire in the fire place, the top-notch service, and the wine! the wine is incredible - delish! coming from mn sanish wines are truly palate- altering. labenda and iniesta wines are exquisite! worth the effort of finding this tiny little slice of spanish-hobduran heaven!

medical. we had eaten at the old location & really enjoyed the food, it was more like home cooking honduras style. we were here for dinner & it seemed they were trying to make it into fine dining than casual the menu was very limited & was not real authentic. service was slow, my food was cold by the time the rest got theirs the baladeas were supposed to have honduras cheese & there was non on any os them that 3 people in out party had.my husband is from honduras & was not happy with the meal. we will not return!

excellent restaurant. great authentic latin food, and the setting on riverside drive is awesome. prices are reasonable and servers knowledgeable and friendly. a real little jewel in holly hill.

delicious chicken soup. best time to visit is after 1pm - love the chicken soup, and their chicken plate. to drink, i love the pineapple juice, it is freshly made.

the best lunch spot in daytona beach. this is one of the best restaurants in daytona beach if you are looking to enjoy a quick lunch that is out of the ordinary.

i would highly recommend their fresh pineapple juice - my personal favorite.

the chicken soup is delicious!

if i am on the run, i like to call ahead and order their cuban sandwich, but if i can seat down and enjoy.. i like always have their chicken plate..

highly recommended.

wonderful experience!. cozy restaurant only open during lunch hours. food was excellent. service was good - server spoke very little english, but made for an "authentic" experience. really enjoyed myself and will go again when i find myself in daytona beach. thanks to urbanspoon for this local gem.
