choices - yas island rotana

tried the weekend fire and spice brunch ....a delectable spread which swing your taste buds to all the parts of the world.
personally preferred all the muttondishes(esp lamb kashkash). mutton korma and dal makhni were good along with steamy hot-n-crispy garlic naans.
salads we're nice and fresh along with the breads and cheese varieties.
the plain simple lentil soup deserves a mention as well along with the sushis 🍣.
keeping an appetite for deserts is strictly recommended 🤩. the apple crumble is a must try along with choux (with chocolate filling) and the cotton candy brings out the kid in every one for sure.
a very special mention for mr.abhinaav who made sure that we enjoyed our time at the brunch. his suggestions were spot-on and we look forward to going back there again. keep it up team choices 👍🏼🎯

good location, good staffs and good food.
i had iftar dinner last week. chicken and beefdisheswere good. salad items are excellent. sweets and snacks section also good. mutton and fishdisheswere average. fresh juices not found. not much selection of juices.

i was in rotana last weekend with friend and due to tiring day at beach , we decided to dine at the restaurant but i will say experience was below average , food was not up to the mark anddisheswere empty , refil was taking time and in case of desert the main chocolate pudding ended by the time we decided to take desert . refill was not there .so definitely i will say it’s not offering value for money , in terms of staff they are smiling and helpful but i guess this circle is beyond control for them as well .

we went for the dinner buffet as it was our son's 10th birthday. it was a working night (tuesday) and yet the restaurant had quite few tables occupied.

our son enjoys a good prank, so we requested the restaurant to provide us with a trick cake. emily (restaurant reception staff) put us in touch with the chef who promptly contacted us and kindly obliged.

on the night, the staff discreetly checked with me when to bring out the cake and hence my son was quite surprised and excited to see a cake.

i expected a basic trick cake however chef arranged an elaborate cake that even my husband thought it was the real one. the serving crew also played along with the trick cake charade and my son thoroughly enjoyed the prank and even more the actual delicious chocolate birthday cake.

the customer service provided by the staff right from reservation to billing was great. the wait staff (miko) was quite attentive and promptly cleared our table after each course.

the buffet however was quite basic but was okay for the cost of 120dhs per adult inclusive of soft drinks and all taxes. there was a fair selection of salads, cold mezze, maindishesand desserts. thedishesshould definitely be reviewed as it needs a fair bit of improvement with regards to its taste. the lamb biryani and beef stir fry were the onlydishesthat stood out.

the decor was good however the chairs were quite heavy and hence quite tricky to move.

overall it was a great evening for us especially our son but it would have been even better if the food matched the service provided.

the place is good and very courteous staff but not too manydishesand the variety of food is very less ... price is high as compared to the number ofdishesserved ...

a delicious start of the day, the food was good and quality was not compromised. i was a walk-in customer with my family and restaurant was quiet busy, i was greeted by avie, she managed to arrange me a table in no time, ambiance is comfy and staff was helpful and offers good customer service. the best part of this restaurant was the egg counter, where you can customize it according to your taste palette, for me and my family, the variety ofdisheswas just fine, but the addition of fresh juices and improved coffee menu would be great.

choices is an all-day dining restaurant that offers international breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. start your day right with a hearty breakfast at choices. the breakfast spread has a complete selections of cereals, dairy products, salads, fresh fruits, breads & pastries and hot dishes. they also have good vegan options. i love their waffles, toast and cinnamon brioche. it’s definitely a must-try.

their dinner buffet spread was also outstanding. try their seafood as well as their selection of sushidishesand the mouth-watering desserts.

the service was excellent. i love it when a manager approached us every morning, greeted us and wished us a beautiful day. simple things like that can really go a long way.

tried the saturday lunch buffet and it was very quiet. it offered a good selection with about 7 or 8 main courses as well as a nice variety of salads and deserts.
almost alldishestasted great especially the steak and prawns.
very friendly staff.
will come again inshallah.

we went choices on a saturday night to experience their "international buffett" and well i have to say it was a let down. limited choice with random selection of dishes, three ricedishesall vegetarian! limited meat options and as for desserts, let down.

if it wasn't for the entertainer voucher i would have cried into my warm water glass!

their brunch is one of the best brunches in town..
evrything is great from a to z ..
they used to have arabian night on saturdays,but unlucky us coz they changed it to sea food night

i was recently invited for an iftar in choices restaurant located in yas island rotana, in the most promising land of yas island, abu dhabi. you’ll find choices between the reception and lounge area of the hotel.

parking: there’s an underground parking available and you have the option to let the staff park it for you.

ramadan timings: it is open daily. for iftar specifically it starts from 7pm-10pm.

main part:

the moment i entered their premises, i felt welcomed right away. wonderful staffs to accommodate us and lead us to our seats. the interior design and table set-up are perfect for the ramadan theme. it’s very appealing and inviting.

as you can notice on the above image, the basic necessities ( dates & water) for breaking your fasting is placed already on the table.

you’ll be enjoying the handpicked choices of arabic specialities in their buffet. it’s divided into sections according to food categories. such as the main course, food finger foods, salad, bread, drinks, nuts & of course my favourite section, the dessert.

there were several delectable arabicdishesprepared for the guests. i’ve tasted few of them which are as follows:

– lamb harees – which is one of the famous ramadan dishes. it’s a mix of coarsely ground wheat and meat with a finishing touch of olive oil around it. the consistency is almost like of a porridge. it’s not on my expected taste though, it’s on a medium level taste. can’t find the taste of lamb in it that much and the presence of olive oil on it is not enough.

– seafood biryani – not a spicy kind of biryani. kids can eat this too. i was able to scoop with the shrimp portion. i enjoyed this one because i love seafoods. taste is great and flavoursome.

– lamb biryani – not a spicy kind of biryani too. which ok for me since i can feed our son with it. the flavour of the lamb won’t separate on the rice. it’s flavour is stemming on the rice itself. however the lamb is not that juicy. although the meat is tender i find it a bit dry.

– mix grill – meat is tender and the flavour is flowing with its juiciness.

– dawood basha – is an arabic meatballs in tomato sauce. i’ll prefer to have this on a plain rice.

– shish barak – is a most likely similar to ravioli. tiny meat of dumplings cooked in the plain yoghurt. the flavour of the dumplings are brimming in the intense flavour of the cooked yoghurt.

– vermicelli rice – if you’re looking for something sweet rice, this is it!

there were around 6 kinds of ramadan beverages on a table. such as tamarind, hibiscus, yoghurt, apricot, etc. the salad section is overflowing with fresh vegetables that you can choose from. by the way, there’s the pickle section too! this is really a complete variety of foods.

i’ve tried some of their dessert and oh boy! even if i want to have them all my tummy says stop! already. what can i do? it’s a mix of arabic and international sweets were there.

after all these mixed in your tummy, you can request for an arabic coffee or tea. all these are inclusive to a price of 165aed.

a lot of people come here and even after iftar people keep on coming in! it’s a recommended place, a family-friendly one.
