ok thecrabfries are pretty good but in case you were wondering there is no actual "crab" incrabfries. basically fries with old baycrabseasoning. but good and the creamy white cheesy sause is great! good place to watch game but not many hot chicks.

i dined here with a party of five and we were all please with our meals and the service.

i orderedcrabfries for the table and we all couldn’t stop saying how yummy they were, the cheese dip that accompanied the fries was fantastic.

the burgers and sandwiches were enjoyed by all, but man i would go back for the fries!

had a few hours to spend and entered this place. was kind of full for an afternoon. had to have thecrabfries- the quantity was huge and i couldn't think of adding another dish. lots of beer options including dogfish , one of the best beers brewed

"i got plenty of nothing". i was looking forward to eating @ chickie's & pete's, however, i was not all that hungry. so, i ordered some of their spicycrabfries, somecrabbisque, and a shrimp. there are some good points to this meal, but they would not be good enough to bring me back. and, there were some bad aspects that would keep me from coming back. first, the flavor of thecrabbisque was very good. it had a hearty flavor, but where was the crab. if it was in the bisque, i could not discern the crab. makes me wonder if the bisque was not made fromcrabstock, and that there was nocrabmeat in the bisque. second, the fries had a nice, slightly old bay taste with some sort of cheesy dipping sauce on the side. but, nothing spectacular about them. and that's the good points. my shrimp salad came with 7 shrimp, mostly head lettuce (really ???), and a few scant mixed vegetables, and a balsamic vinegar dressing. first, if the restaurant is going to make a salad, at least make it with some good salad greens, not tasteless head lettuce. the shrimp were probably mediums in size. the first 3 shrimp, i did not check for being cleaned. however, when i took a bite of the 4th shrimp, it had definitely been rinsed in a chlorine / water solution. i could taste it, and i could smell it. that is a common practice to make old & slightly off shrimp appear to be fresh. the next shrimp was ok. however, the last 2 shrimp had not been cleaned. the black, so-called vein (really the digestive track) of the shrimp had not been removed. that is a definite no-no in prepping shrimp, especially in restaurants. how disgusting. i showed & discussed these issues with the server. when she came back with my bill, she showed me the original bill for about $28.00, and had prepared a second bill in which the salad had been removed. the second bill came back with a total of approximately $16.00 for food. not worth a second visit.

you don’t go here for the food (except thecrabfries, stop asking why nocrabon thecrabfries) but can’t have this list without including them, a philly institution with the best crowd and viewing angles. the gaming areas in south philly are great for groups but i prefer the original location on robbins avenue in the wissinoming section of northeast philly.

don't waste your money!. i had only been at c&p's once, their place in the ne where i experienced the joy ofcrabfries for the first time. when we went to the south philly location this evening, i couldn't wait to taste them again.

but first off, the waitress couldn't do separate checks for our party of four, saying it's not allowed. other chain restaurants manage to do this for parties of 20+ people, and they can't handle four? so we had to figure out how to equitably split a check with non-drinkers and expensive-martini drinkers, and one person who came late and only had one drink and no food. what a pita. anyway, the waitress told us the food comes out as it's ready, so it may not all come out at the same time. ok, whatever...as long as it's hot. thecrabfries were the first disappointment. couldn't taste anycrabseasoning, but they were loaded with salt. the "jumbo lumpcrabcake" entree, at $21.95, consisted of four *appetizer-sized*crabcakes, and that was it. mycrabcake sandwich ($13.95) was barely warm, and thecrabcakes were just meh. they were also loaded with salt. one of our group even complained that their pickles were the worst she's ever had. that's pretty pitiful when someone complains about pickles, for goodness' sake.

anyway, i don't know if the quality has suffered because c&p's is now franchised, but i wouldn't recommend the packer ave. location to my worst enemy. i don't mind paying premium prices if the quality is there, but not when the food is bland, overpriced and cold.

lousy. i have tried lunch at chickie and pete' s twice and honestly it was twice to many times. how can you order wings and they come out one minute later, obviously they were sitting there.crabfires were good but please get over yourselves, do you have to put them on everything. i wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

just didn't like the food. i had lunch at the c & p in terminal e at the philly airport. i wanted to try my first real philly cheesesteak; my server recommended the "south philly" version and thecrabfries so i bit.
the famouscrabfries were good, but i didn't taste the "crab seasoning" they were supposedly seasoned with; what i did get was a month's supply of salt. i couldn't finish the fries and i had to have two sodas as my mouth was parched.
the cheese steak was also disappointing. first, it's huge. big, thick sub bun, sliced beef, onions, red peppers, jalapenos, cheese sauce. the cheese sauce was bland, unflavorful and didn't taste like cheese. the beef was also bland. i would rate chicago italian beef as much tastier than what i had.
i am not assuming that this was representative of all philly cheesesteak places. i'm sure there are much better ones out there. this place, however, did not make a good first impression on me. the bar itself and the service were both great. hoping for better luck next time.

amazing fries. the crabfries with cheesey sauce are amazing. the restaurant itself is okay. i was most satisfied with chickies and pete's when stuck at the airport and got to chow down on a gigantic cup (more like bucket) ofcrabfries!!

great bar!. this is an absolute classic - a fun bar, a great place to watch the philly sports games, with great food! the dungenesscraband the white lobster pizza are definite dos, alongside an extra order of crabby fries. definitely not good for diets, but so worth it.
