chickie's & pete's south philadelphia

drinks are great. fries are great. rest of the food is decent and edible, nothing too special or fancy. decent restaurant forbarfood. we like the airport location for pre-flight drinks

lousy food. after all the build up about a big place coming to s philly near the sports complex, i waited anxiously for chickie and petes to open.

several years later i wonder why i was so enamored. the food portions are small and usually not up to mediocre standards and the service is horrible. the waitress seem to spend more time disappearing than serving. the food takes way to long to serve and is overpriced for the portions, the bartenders seem to forget that they are there to sell drinks and not spend time with the girls at thebarwho don't spend and tip even less.

eat up town and come to the game later. but avoid this well decorated pig sty and get a roast pork or decent fries anywhere else.

crabby fries overrated. i went there out of curiosity after hearing about the fries... they were okay. went to another location to give it another try... same thing. you get the immediate feeling that you're just in another cookie-cutter sportsbarserving fast food. for all those folks out there that they're suing over trademark infringement... if crabby fries sounds like anything you have on your menu, remove it... it's not worth fighting for and it might give you a bad name.

just didn't like the food. i had lunch at the c & p in terminal e at the philly airport. i wanted to try my first real philly cheesesteak; my server recommended the "south philly" version and the crab fries so i bit.
the famous crab fries were good, but i didn't taste the "crab seasoning" they were supposedly seasoned with; what i did get was a month's supply of salt. i couldn't finish the fries and i had to have two sodas as my mouth was parched.
the cheese steak was also disappointing. first, it's huge. big, thick sub bun, sliced beef, onions, red peppers, jalapenos, cheese sauce. the cheese sauce was bland, unflavorful and didn't taste like cheese. the beef was also bland. i would rate chicago italian beef as much tastier than what i had.
i am not assuming that this was representative of all philly cheesesteak places. i'm sure there are much better ones out there. this place, however, did not make a good first impression on me. thebaritself and the service were both great. hoping for better luck next time.

can you say "attytood"?. went to meet a friend before a recent phils day game.barwas just moderately crowded, not a complete zoo. but unfortunately there were just 2 bartenders, and of course they had a constant stream of waitresses placing orders for the many tables, since it was lunch hour. needless to say, service sucked. waited 15 minutes for my first drink. then was told that i had a bad attitude. this place is severely overrated and has become way too successful for their own good. not sure what the hype is about, the food is average at best. there are other alternatives people, don't reward this chain with your business.

good place. the beer is cold, the food is good, but the service at thebaris awful. i just went to the location in the airport and it's the same - bad service. the corporate training program is being followed at all locations.

ripoff. this place is so overated it's ridiculous. company had christmas party here, had too much to drink so followed rules and got a dd, left car overnight on lot. i did not see any signs about overnight parking, just don't leave car and go to sporting events. came back car towed $180.00 then when i pay they give me a parking ticket from city for $41.00 written at 5:05 in morning. c&p won't do anything for you either. the food is nothing special nicebarto watch game. never again

okaybarfood. like others said, its a sportsbarwith decentbarfood. good for local sporting team flare. good before a game or after. the food is overall pretty food.

fine dining???. what kind of moron put chickie's under the "best fine dining" section?? that is absurd! this place is basically a cornerbarwith a billion dollar budget. the food is half acceptable depending on what you get, and it comes out as its ready. it's a sportsbarwith mediocre seafood. i don't mind chickies, but it was a lot more fun when i was younger, it's definitely a place to see at least once, but mostly a novelty. if people in philadelphia consider this to be fine dining i dread to know what they consider a dive bar!
