you don’t go here for the food (except the crab fries, stop asking why no crab on the crab fries) but can’t have this list without including them, a philly institution with the best crowd and viewing angles. the gaming areas in south philly are great for groups but i prefer the original location on robbins avenue in the wissinoming section of northeast philly.

mussels at parx chickie and pete's. excellent!! wasn't a mussel eater til just recently after tasting at chucks alibi. got sick from chucks though after eating a raw one....wasn't really familiar with mussels and didn't know. but chickies and petes...red and white are perfect!! liked the white better because of the garlic sauce.

overrated. great drinks. friendly wait staff and bartenders. food is ok, but overpriced. i used to work for chickie's & pete's at parx casino as a restroom attendant. i worked under the table for them for over a year and got terminated by the coo, roger falloon because i did not have business insurance and i was not incorporated. wonders if bathroom attendants at other establishments are incorporated or have business insurance while working under the table.

the only good thing is their drink special! everything is over price and nothing come with sides! i had a steak sand which and the beef was ok bread was hard and they give u plastic silverware! stay away unless u just would like a drink

don't waste your money!. i had only been at c&p's once, their place in the ne where i experienced the joy of crab fries for the first time. when we went to the south philly location this evening, i couldn't wait to taste them again.

but first off, the waitress couldn't do separate checks for our party of four, saying it's not allowed. other chain restaurants manage to do this for parties of 20+ people, and they can't handle four? so we had to figure out how to equitably split a check with non-drinkers and expensive-martini drinkers, and one person who came late and only had one drink and no food. what a pita. anyway, the waitress told us the food comes out as it's ready, so it may not all come out at the same time. ok, whatever...as long as it's hot. the crab fries were the first disappointment. couldn't taste any crab seasoning, but they were loaded with salt. the "jumbo lump crab cake" entree, at $21.95, consisted of four *appetizer-sized* crab cakes, and that was it. my crab cake sandwich ($13.95) was barely warm, and the crab cakes were just meh. they were also loaded with salt. one of our group even complained that their pickles were the worst she's ever had. that's pretty pitiful when someone complains about pickles, for goodness' sake.

anyway, i don't know if the quality has suffered because c&p's is now franchised, but i wouldn't recommend the packer ave. location to my worst enemy. i don't mind paying premium prices if the quality is there, but not when the food is bland, overpriced and cold.

"trickie's & trieves. horrible experience!!!! order of food-service coming out from the kitchen was ridiculous. one entrée plate came out followed by appetizers followed by second entrée. had to send the first entrée plate back because the hamburger was cold. food very overpriced. totally ridiculous!!

the absolute worst philly that i have ever had!!! do not eat here

why do people go there?. first time at this well known restaurant yesterday before the game. the so. philly cheesestake was absolutely awlful coupled with equally miserable sevice.

the famous crab friea were kind of a let down because our expectations were set soo high. but overall the entrees were ok and the service was great.

too many tv's and too noisy. how many tv's and shouting so philadelphia kids can you cram in one place?????

lousy food. after all the build up about a big place coming to s philly near the sports complex, i waited anxiously for chickie and petes to open.

several years later i wonder why i was so enamored. the food portions are small and usually not up to mediocre standards and the service is horrible. the waitress seem to spend more time disappearing than serving. the food takes way to long to serve and is overpriced for the portions, the bartenders seem to forget that they are there to sell drinks and not spend time with the girls at the bar who don't spend and tip even less.

eat up town and come to the game later. but avoid this well decorated pig sty and get a roast pork or decent fries anywhere else.
