chef's palette

consistently excellent food & service. i've eaten at chef'spalettemany, many times, with it quickly having become my absolute favorite. the service is excellent and the food extraordinary, meaning not only is it very tasty, but also different than what you find everywhere.

in addition to the restaurant, i've eaten at the bar several times, with the food there being just as good, although understandably more "bar like." still, you can get excellent fish tacos, crabcakes, and such, if you're not in the mood for a burger, fried foods or wings.

the atmosphere is also unparalleled. it manages to host a casual yet upscale feeling, enabling you to enjoy an elegant night out without overdone pretentiousness.

outdoor patio is fantastic all year round, with comfortable seating and heaters in the winter.

one of the things i love the most? consistency. i've probably eaten there at least 8-10 times for dinner, 15-20 times in the bar, had 2 parties there, and once hired them for in-home catering. each and every time, the food, quality, and service were equally as extraordinary.

high priced drinks. i like the atmosphere at chef'spalettebut each time i go, i get upset at being charged high prices in the bar. $10.50 for a pinnacle vodka drink is crazy. i asked for a citron and tonic and got a pinnacle citrus for $10.50 instead. i don't mind paying more for top shelf drinks, but pinnacle is not top shelf. my husband ordered a martini and the glass was barely half full. we asked about it and they said this was the normal pour. i think the only thing to drink there is beer because for the liquor drinks you pay way too much. they need to check out the competition and see what is the going rate around here because they are charging too much for poor quality!! each time i go, i think i will not go back but i keep trying and keep getting disappointed.

we won't be back.. we tried chef'spaletteagain for the second time and it will be our last. first, the average price of all dinner menu items is $25 per entree- not the $15 to $25 listed in urban spoon. second, their decorating scheme includes artwork that is for sale, and needless to say, it's been there a while. the drinks arrived 2/3 full with an excuse that they have changed their barware. doesn't make a good first impression. the scallop risotto was bland. the chicken francese arrived with plating that attempted to mimic a high end restaurant but failed miserably. it seemed to be missing the seasonal vegetables. chef'spaletteis a pretender trying to be a purveyor of good food. they only succeed in high prices. everything else is lacking.

late review. my bf and i came here for my 24th birthday. it's a little deceiving from the exterior, but the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is delicious. the menus have to be the coolest thing about this place: they light up! (see pictures) the service is amazing, as well. when my bf's steak was overcooked, the chef actually brought the steak back out to him to insure it was prepared just the way he wanted it. upon discovering that this was our first time here, the owner of chef'spaletteactually came and sat with us for a while, telling us about how she got started and what her future plans were for the restaurant. overall it was a wonderful night and birthday. can't wait to go back!

great food! great atmosphere! great service!. my wife and i came in last weekend for drinks and ended up dining in the bar. our waitress, lacy, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. she helped us make some excellent choices on drinks and entrees. the food was simply delicious. the bar side of the restaurant was lively and fun. we've been looking for a local restaurant like chef'spalettefor a while and we will definitely be back!

september 17, 2011 wedding & reception at chefs palette-amazing!. our wedding & reception was held at chef'spaletteon september 17. it was truly perfect. a special thanks go out to kathy and fletcher who did a spectacular job on the preparation, decor, food and drinks. i could not have imagined having my special day anywhere else. you are all amazing. the pork was delicious, the guests were happily tipsy (lol), the ambiance was perfect and to have been able to accommodate all of our guests was nothing short of a miracle! the rain didn't hinder a thing (at least it didn't appear like it did). i know you alll worked very hard to make this happen and we thank you so, so, so much!!! here's to the best restaurant in the triangle area!!
one more thing, the kids loved the chicken tenders and so did the adults!

nothing short of amazing!. i have dined at chefspaletteon several occasions and have never been disappointed. the food is unique, the atmoshere is very warm and the staff is wonderful. if you have not been there yet, you need to gather some friends and go.

why go any where else?. my wife and i have traveled all over the country and eaten at some great restaurants. we have been to all of the great restaurants in the triangle. chef'spalettecompares with the best of them. when you combine the environment, the quality service, friendly people, great weekend entertainment & oh and great food - why go any where else? the food is very tasty and ranges from $4 appitizers to one of the best $35 filets. desserts are just beyong description. the weekend entertainment is just outstanding. why go to dt raleigh or durham/chapel hill when you have this in cary?

awesome!. chefspaletteis awesome!! try the chicken franchese...it is the best food i have ever had! also recommend the howling wolf and the nuts and berries salad. you can't go wrong at the palette!! highly recommend!

brunch - country fried steak. i really don't like to talk things up but omg, i hope i have the good fortune of my husband ordering the country fried steak at the chef'spaletteevery freaking sunday for the rest of our lives. that was amazingly intricate and so delicious.

i was looking forward to trying chef'spaletteafter reading all of the great reviews but unfortunately was very disappointed. the atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly and helpful but my dinner just wasn't very good. my husband had the cornish hen and i had the salmon and both of our dishes wee dry and overcooked.

chef'spaletteknocked me off my feet! great ambiance, outstanding service from the bar staff and the cheesecake made my toes curl. the nuts and berries salad was also worthy of note. but whoever is in charge of the deserts should be crowned a king!

wonderful evening. we have a monthly "dine around" with our cary friends and
neighbors. this month's choice was an excellent one. the food, the presentation and the service was wonderful. everyone agreed that the chef'spalettewas a perfect choice. we will be back! thanks kathie and staff.
