chef's palette

great date night place...room 4 improvement. i loved the art and the dark lighting with the cool electronic menus. i wish i had gotten a starter. my scallops were delicious but not piping hot which was disappointing and distracting from the flavor. remember to order a side or all u get is the meat like most upscale places do; i wish the server had up-saled that like she tried to push the alcohol. my husband's salad with blackened salmon was verygoodand a generous portion. i saved room for dessert b/c of the rave reviews. mistake. my creme brûlée was more like flan, too eggy and no flavor except the torched top. we returned the ginger cake b/c the yogurt made the granola so hard it was almost impossible to eat and my hubby who loves peanut butter didn't like the pb foam on top. i'd be willing to try once again, but boy was it disappointing for my birthday. they did put a sparkler in dessert for my bday which was sweet. i will give 3 out of 5 which is generous, mostly for ambiance and creativity.

we won't be back.. we tried chef's palette again for the second time and it will be our last. first, the average price of all dinner menu items is $25 per entree- not the $15 to $25 listed in urban spoon. second, their decorating scheme includes artwork that is for sale, and needless to say, it's been there a while. the drinks arrived 2/3 full with an excuse that they have changed their barware. doesn't make agoodfirst impression. the scallop risotto was bland. the chicken francese arrived with plating that attempted to mimic a high end restaurant but failed miserably. it seemed to be missing the seasonal vegetables. chef's palette is a pretender trying to be a purveyor ofgoodfood. they only succeed in high prices. everything else is lacking.

close to perfect. last minute reservation on nye. we feel lucky that we got the last table. wow!
starting with the two primers which were "the kahuna tuna" and the "brayer beef tart". we asked for the filet on the tart to be cooked rare and was mouth watering good. the tuna was the best we have ever had, we have ordered one verision or the other of this classic no less than 100 times at various places all over the country.
i had the soup in place of salad which was a shrimp bisque. this was the only bad dish as it tasted like flour, probably from thickening. wife had the tomato mozzarella montage. even we can't make this as well as this is often severed at our house.
for the main course my wife had the tidal pool rendezous and i had the earth and sky. also, wife ordered a south african lobster tail to accompany her scallops. scallops were cooked to perfection but her favorite was the gouda grits. lobster tail wasgoodbut not worth the $50 price tag. the duck and lamb is an incredible combination and i'm sure is one of their best sellers.
dessert was equally asgoodeven though we took it to go and had it for breakfast the next day.
service wasgoodbut needed a little more knowledge for people that are extreme foodies.
house martinis are made to perfection.
yes, this meal was very expensive $$$ but we ordered everything we wanted and have no regrets.

nice place - will return to the bar. dinner for four on saturday 1/22, very nice atmosphere - lighted menu's add a nice flair. wait staff very good. $200 for four guest a bit much, no desert, but a couple rounds of drinks which were very good. i had the shrimp stuffed avocado for appetizer - shrimp verygoodbut stuffed in a half non-ripe avocado not edible. the wait staff noticed me struggling with trying to get the avocado and offered to get a new one, but i declined, but told the waitress "jo" it was not ripe. i guess i would have expected them to take the appetizer off the bill, but no.... and didn't ask, they should have as a courtesy! for dinner, i had the seared scallops with bacon and grits - not very impressed, scallops were medium size and expected thick slices of bacon as the menu suggested, not a piece i would typically have for breakfast. my wife had the ahi tuna which she enjoyed, although it came out cold. most enjoyment was after dinner in the bar area, great band playing, but very crowded with a small space - seems like a new happening night spot and will return for the bar scene.

awesome!. we ate there for the first time last night and everything was delicious! the tuna appetizer was amazing as was the wolf shrimp appetizer. i had scallops, which were also great.goodservice & appropriate advice on which wine to get. we will definitely be going back soon!

gem of southern wake county. i have been going to this restaurant on a regular basis since it opened. for those that wrote that the food was not good, all i have to say is that i hope you try it again because you are really missing out on some artistically great food. i am pleased that they have added even more dishes as well as a bigger bar menu. my favorite is the scallop dish that makes you want to lick the plate after. the staff is incredibly welcoming and always wanting to make sure your experience is agoodone. best new restaurant of southern wake county!

brunch - country fried steak. i really don't like to talk things up but omg, i hope i have thegoodfortune of my husband ordering the country fried steak at the chef's palette every freaking sunday for the rest of our lives. that was amazingly intricate and so delicious.

wow! restaurant is really pretty inside and was busy, which is agoodsign. dinner was excellent! service too! glad to have a new place close to home.

i think it wasgoodfor the price, and we’ll be coming here again in the future.
