by far the best restaurant in the city. the food is consistently good, and the menu is not overly trendy. i've been to a handful of private events here, and even when trying to time food for a larger group, the chef has done a great job. on the downside, there is one waiter/ sommelier that is a bit pretentious, and that's irritating, and it's expensive, but not more than you would expect at a nice steakhouse. if we were comparing chandlers to restaurants in other cities, my rating wouldn't be as high, but for what we have here, it's fantastic. also the seafood is always very fresh which is wonderful for a city without a coast. i especially love the abalone and tuna preparations. finally, mysteakis always prepared perfectly to my preferences. i've really come to appreciate this since at ruth's chris, they have every time, without fail, undercooked at least one person'ssteakat my table.

very pretty atmosphere. started at the bar for "social hour" and moved to main dining room for dinner. extensive wine list (we elected for local wine that was great). oursteakwas prepared perfect and extremely tender. my main reason for going was the soufflé and it did not disappoint. could have shared it with 4 people..... it was rich and quite large. will definitely go back. great meal!!

disappointed - no longer our "go to" special steakhouse.. we always chose chandler's for special occasions and when hosting somebody "special". after last saturday's dinner, we are re-thinking this. mysteakwas pricey, poorly cut, extremely small, poorly cooked. service mediocre - waitress talked down to us - treated us like we were teens out for the first time at a "real" restaurant. at some point some man breezed by, asked how things were, and was gone almost before we answered. don't know who he was because he couldn't take a few seconds to introduce himself. really? what's happened to our chandler's'? bad experience!!!

anniversary dinner. took my lady out for our aniversery.... was a very nice experiance bought a $45steakwas ok not great. the soup was another $9 .. thesteakcame with a 1/2 broiled tamatoe and a dab of mashed potatoes..... wife had the salmon and it was good but not great like the $31 price tag would command and another $6 for soup... she had coffee and i had water.... total bill $100 and with the tip came to be $120.... we have spent several evenings in the lounge with a few drinks and some of their bar meals and have enjoyed that. for us we will continue to go to chandlers but will stay in the lounge. the service was great and so was the atmosphere..... was just disipointed in the food quality for the price

best experience. i recently came into town for business and was pleasantly surprised at what a great experience i had at this restaurant .
the food was incredible and very reasonably priced. i didn't know what i should get because i wanted everything. i had the kobe flat iron and a couple scallops to try a localsteaksuggested by our waiter scott. it was perfectly prepared and one of the best steaks i ever had. we shared the creme brulee, the cheescake for dessert . the cheesecake was the best i've ever had.
the dinner was great and our waiter scott made the experience exceptional!

our new year's eve experience. we had a magnificent evening at chandlers!

our evening started with reservations at berryhill but unfortunately or now fortunately for us they were serving buffet dinner
which would not suffice the women in our party. we immediately got on the phone and contacted chandlers (whom we have ate
at several times and always enjoy...we're just trying different restaurants!) the gentleman on the phone said they were booked
but seating in the bar might be possible.

this is where the magic begins!

first we arrived and were greeted by two charming, handsome and happy young men! i am sorry i did not get their names but
what a pleasure to see happy employees having to work on new year's eve. these young men worked their magic and got
us a table for 4! thank you! and thank you for doing it with a smile on your face and winning one for the husbands!

second, we received impeccable service from ciam! she arrived promptly at our table for drink orders and any questions.
again a smile on her lovely face the entire evening!

third, the food! exquisite!!! can i sum it up any better than exquisite! the ahi tuna cooked to perfection with those wasabi
mashed potatoes, the sea bass delicately cooked with a nice crunchy outer layer, the cowboysteakmouth watering!!
napoleon a perfectly light ending to the meal! from the first course to the third!!! lovely!!!

chandlers is doing it right! whatever they are doing with their employees they are doing something right!
they appear to not only like their jobs but enjoy their jobs!

from the moment we stepped into chandlers to the moment we left, we felt welcomed, important and extraordinarily grateful!
grateful for the pleasure of meeting the host and servers. grateful for experiencing their sumptuous food!
grateful to know that chandlers cares!

an anniversary to forget. we tried chandler's for the first time on our anniversary and were disappointed overall. the 10-minute martini was outstanding, and the service was very good, but everything else was mediocre at best. mysteakwas charred (well past a sear) and nearly medium well, when i'd ordered it medium rare. the bleu cheese potato gratin tasted not at all like bleu cheese, but bland potatoes. i could go on, but i'll just go to fork or brickyard instead.

high end restaurant well worth the visit. yes, it is expensive. but the service, the presentation, the food(!) all warrant this. our server was excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and spot on with his suggestions. the bay scallops and the argentinesteakwere phenomenal, as was the black orchid ahi tuna. we were dressed buisiness casual - i was surprised to see fellow diners in shorts and tees. this restaurant is now one of my top choices for special events.

goodsteakin a ruth's chris style. wine selection is extensive, but overpriced. it's a high end hotel restaraunt.

nicest place in boise. this is my favorite place for a fancy dinner in boise. and that's saying a lot, because i'm a vegetarian and this is asteakplace. they've done a pretty good job to create a vegetarian entree, though i find it doesn't stay with me very long. but all in all, great salads, great drinks and a very classy atmosphere.

i "don't like it" because of the price.... we were there for our anniversary on a saturday evening and sat in the bar at one of the high tables, which we don't mind. the service was quite good and over all the food was good. my wife had the special; sea bass &steak(surf & turf), i had the chilean sea bass from the menu. mine was quite good even for $30, my wife's was $65 which i thought was a little high since thesteakwas 6oz, maybe 8oz.. the flavor was quite good for both, but the oh gratin potato's tasted bad. sally tibbs & kevin kirk were fun to listen too. the drinks are pretty spendy also. over all we did enjoy the night, but for almost $200 i expect the food to be perfect.
i say try it if you have some money to spare, and form your own opinion.

best in boise. you need a reservation to eat here, don't just try to drop by on a saturday night, otherwise you're doing yourself and the restaurant a disservice. dress is business casual, not jeans and t-shirts. prices seem high, but they're on par with othersteakrestaurants in the area.
the steaks are the best in boise, easily. the bar selections are among the best in boise, particularly the scotches. they could have a wider beer selection, but if you just want beer, check out the bittercreek ale house.
the dessert menu is really great, but if you want the chocolate souffle you should order it when you order dinner, as it has a 28 minute preparation time.
the restaurant is well laid-out, and they have live music, but not 5 piece rock-bands that make conversation impossible. it is usually jazz vocals with guitar or piano.
the decor is amazing, particularly the attention to detail and the lighting. they have valet parking, and the entrance to the restaurant is very impressive.
there is a private glass-walled room for large parties, and the service is very good at the restaurant. in the bar area, it is definitely more of a bar, service is not as good.
overall it is my favorite steakhouse in boise, and it is almost as good as a ruth's chris.

o walked with no reservation on a monday night and all they had seating in the bar (at a tall cocktail table) or on the terrace which was noisy and crowded. service was spotty.an the kobe nysteakwas thin and not very flavorful. perhaps that is why it came with 3 different sauces. the bernaise was spectacular! the pomme frites were limp but flavorful & also came with 3 sauces. great jazz but overall i have been to better steakhouses.
