very pretty atmosphere. started at thebarfor "social hour" and moved to main dining room for dinner. extensive wine list (we elected for local wine that was great). our steak was prepared perfect and extremely tender. my main reason for going was the soufflé and it did not disappoint. could have shared it with 4 people..... it was rich and quite large. will definitely go back. great meal!!

anniversary dinner. took my lady out for our aniversery.... was a very nice experiance bought a $45 steak was ok not great. the soup was another $9 .. the steak came with a 1/2 broiled tamatoe and a dab of mashed potatoes..... wife had the salmon and it was good but not great like the $31 price tag would command and another $6 for soup... she had coffee and i had water.... total bill $100 and with the tip came to be $120.... we have spent several evenings in the lounge with a few drinks and some of theirbarmeals and have enjoyed that. for us we will continue to go to chandlers but will stay in the lounge. the service was great and so was the atmosphere..... was just disipointed in the food quality for the price

our new year's eve experience. we had a magnificent evening at chandlers!

our evening started with reservations at berryhill but unfortunately or now fortunately for us they were serving buffet dinner
which would not suffice the women in our party. we immediately got on the phone and contacted chandlers (whom we have ate
at several times and always enjoy...we're just trying different restaurants!) the gentleman on the phone said they were booked
but seating in thebarmight be possible.

this is where the magic begins!

first we arrived and were greeted by two charming, handsome and happy young men! i am sorry i did not get their names but
what a pleasure to see happy employees having to work on new year's eve. these young men worked their magic and got
us a table for 4! thank you! and thank you for doing it with a smile on your face and winning one for the husbands!

second, we received impeccable service from ciam! she arrived promptly at our table for drink orders and any questions.
again a smile on her lovely face the entire evening!

third, the food! exquisite!!! can i sum it up any better than exquisite! the ahi tuna cooked to perfection with those wasabi
mashed potatoes, the sea bass delicately cooked with a nice crunchy outer layer, the cowboy steak mouth watering!!
napoleon a perfectly light ending to the meal! from the first course to the third!!! lovely!!!

chandlers is doing it right! whatever they are doing with their employees they are doing something right!
they appear to not only like their jobs but enjoy their jobs!

from the moment we stepped into chandlers to the moment we left, we felt welcomed, important and extraordinarily grateful!
grateful for the pleasure of meeting the host and servers. grateful for experiencing their sumptuous food!
grateful to know that chandlers cares!

the total package. don't let the word "steakhouse" in the name of this establishment fool ya - this is no dark, stodgy, beef-centric restaurant. oh yeah... there's steaks on the menu - lots and lots of them, and i was moved by the filet unlike any filet before but that's just the beginning of their culinary talents. you might think boise, idaho, in all it's land lock-ness, would not be a mecca for fresh seafood, but chandler's is so fresh and tasty, i'd swear it was swimming in the sea the day before. last time i was there, i had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection. i've also had the halibut and the sea bass which were equally wonderful and they have a mixed cold seafood plate with oysters, lobster, and crab that's super tasty.

a favorite evening for my fiancé and i is to sit in thebar(or on the patio in the nicer weather) and order a selection of appetizers. two of our favorites are the tower of tuna and the escargot. chandler's has a great wine list but we usually opt for the 10 minute martini - hands down the smoothest martini i've ever had.

incase you save room for dessert, their chocolate souffle is their signature sweet. not being such a fan of chocolate (yeah, i know...) i love the butterscotch creme brulée!

there's more to a restaurant than just the food though and the amazingly talented jazz musicians that play there every night of the week and the professional (not to mention downright nice) waitstaff makes chandlers our go to restaurant whether it be a special occasion, a business dinner or just a great date night.

i "don't like it" because of the price.... we were there for our anniversary on a saturday evening and sat in thebarat one of the high tables, which we don't mind. the service was quite good and over all the food was good. my wife had the special; sea bass & steak (surf & turf), i had the chilean sea bass from the menu. mine was quite good even for $30, my wife's was $65 which i thought was a little high since the steak was 6oz, maybe 8oz.. the flavor was quite good for both, but the oh gratin potato's tasted bad. sally tibbs & kevin kirk were fun to listen too. the drinks are pretty spendy also. over all we did enjoy the night, but for almost $200 i expect the food to be perfect.
i say try it if you have some money to spare, and form your own opinion.

best in boise. you need a reservation to eat here, don't just try to drop by on a saturday night, otherwise you're doing yourself and the restaurant a disservice. dress is business casual, not jeans and t-shirts. prices seem high, but they're on par with other steak restaurants in the area.
the steaks are the best in boise, easily. thebarselections are among the best in boise, particularly the scotches. they could have a wider beer selection, but if you just want beer, check out the bittercreek ale house.
the dessert menu is really great, but if you want the chocolate souffle you should order it when you order dinner, as it has a 28 minute preparation time.
the restaurant is well laid-out, and they have live music, but not 5 piece rock-bands that make conversation impossible. it is usually jazz vocals with guitar or piano.
the decor is amazing, particularly the attention to detail and the lighting. they have valet parking, and the entrance to the restaurant is very impressive.
there is a private glass-walled room for large parties, and the service is very good at the restaurant. in thebararea, it is definitely more of a bar, service is not as good.
overall it is my favorite steakhouse in boise, and it is almost as good as a ruth's chris.

o walked with no reservation on a monday night and all they had seating in thebar(at a tall cocktail table) or on the terrace which was noisy and crowded. service was spotty.an the kobe ny steak was thin and not very flavorful. perhaps that is why it came with 3 different sauces. the bernaise was spectacular! the pomme frites were limp but flavorful & also came with 3 sauces. great jazz but overall i have been to better steakhouses.
