best in boise. you need a reservation to eat here, don't just try to drop by on a saturday night, otherwise you're doing yourself and the restaurant a disservice. dress is business casual, not jeans and t-shirts. prices seem high, but they're on par with other steak restaurants in the area.
the steaks are the best in boise, easily. thebarselections are among the best in boise, particularly the scotches. they could have a wider beer selection, but if you just want beer, check out the bittercreek ale house.
the dessert menu is really great, but if you want the chocolate souffle you should order it when you order dinner, as it has a 28 minute preparation time.
the restaurant is well laid-out, and they have live music, but not 5 piece rock-bands that make conversation impossible. it is usually jazz vocals with guitar or piano.
the decor is amazing, particularly the attention to detail and the lighting. they have valet parking, and the entrance to the restaurant is very impressive.
there is a private glass-walled room for large parties, and the service is very good at the restaurant. in thebararea, it is definitely more of a bar, service is not as good.
overall it is my favorite steakhouse in boise, and it is almost as good as a ruth's chris.
