by far the best restaurant in the city. the food is consistently good, and the menu is not overly trendy. i've been to a handful of private events here, and even when trying to time food for a larger group, the chef has done a great job. on the downside, there is one waiter/ sommelier that is a bit pretentious, and that's irritating, and it's expensive, but not more than you would expect at a nice steakhouse. if we were comparingchandlersto restaurants in other cities, my rating wouldn't be as high, but for what we have here, it's fantastic. also the seafood is always very fresh which is wonderful for a city without a coast. i especially love the abalone and tuna preparations. finally, my steak is always prepared perfectly to my preferences. i've really come to appreciate this since at ruth's chris, they have every time, without fail, undercooked at least one person's steak at my table.

anniversary dinner. took my lady out for our aniversery.... was a very nice experiance bought a $45 steak was ok not great. the soup was another $9 .. the steak came with a 1/2 broiled tamatoe and a dab of mashed potatoes..... wife had the salmon and it was good but not great like the $31 price tag would command and another $6 for soup... she had coffee and i had water.... total bill $100 and with the tip came to be $120.... we have spent several evenings in the lounge with a few drinks and some of their bar meals and have enjoyed that. for us we will continue to go tochandlersbut will stay in the lounge. the service was great and so was the atmosphere..... was just disipointed in the food quality for the price

over priced disgusting food. recently, my wife and i went tochandlerssteakhouse. we ordered steaks which were fifty dollars a piece. we asked for them to be cooked medium well done. when the waitress brought them to us, we could still see blood. i'm not talking about just a little bit of blood, i'm talking about a lot of blood... as in our steaks were almost raw - i kid you not! when i complained, she said there was nothing she could do about it. she did not even offer to take them back and cook them a little longer. not only poor service, but unsanitary as well. this is not the place to visit for fine dining. maybe for vampires... but not for people who want to enjoy a good meal. as fate would have it, we were to run into a waiter that had once worked for chandlers, who was now working at a local establishment. when we shared our experience with him, he chuckled saying that, "we used to take home the returned steaks from the people who didn't want to eat them because they weren't cooked properly." he went on to say that the staff would laugh because they'd get to each such expensive food for free!"

our new year's eve experience. we had a magnificent evening at chandlers!

our evening started with reservations at berryhill but unfortunately or now fortunately for us they were serving buffet dinner
which would not suffice the women in our party. we immediately got on the phone and contactedchandlers(whom we have ate
at several times and always enjoy...we're just trying different restaurants!) the gentleman on the phone said they were booked
but seating in the bar might be possible.

this is where the magic begins!

first we arrived and were greeted by two charming, handsome and happy young men! i am sorry i did not get their names but
what a pleasure to see happy employees having to work on new year's eve. these young men worked their magic and got
us a table for 4! thank you! and thank you for doing it with a smile on your face and winning one for the husbands!

second, we received impeccable service from ciam! she arrived promptly at our table for drink orders and any questions.
again a smile on her lovely face the entire evening!

third, the food! exquisite!!! can i sum it up any better than exquisite! the ahi tuna cooked to perfection with those wasabi
mashed potatoes, the sea bass delicately cooked with a nice crunchy outer layer, the cowboy steak mouth watering!!
napoleon a perfectly light ending to the meal! from the first course to the third!!! lovely!!!

chandlers is doing it right! whatever they are doing with their employees they are doing something right!
they appear to not only like their jobs but enjoy their jobs!

from the moment we stepped intochandlersto the moment we left, we felt welcomed, important and extraordinarily grateful!
grateful for the pleasure of meeting the host and servers. grateful for experiencing their sumptuous food!
grateful to know thatchandlerscares!

expensive but great!.chandlersis a very nice dining experience. a little on the expensive side with the portions being a little too small, but other than that, it is great! the food tastes great and the wine list is seemingly never-ending!

the total package. don't let the word "steakhouse" in the name of this establishment fool ya - this is no dark, stodgy, beef-centric restaurant. oh yeah... there's steaks on the menu - lots and lots of them, and i was moved by the filet unlike any filet before but that's just the beginning of their culinary talents. you might think boise, idaho, in all it's land lock-ness, would not be a mecca for fresh seafood, but chandler's is so fresh and tasty, i'd swear it was swimming in the sea the day before. last time i was there, i had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection. i've also had the halibut and the sea bass which were equally wonderful and they have a mixed cold seafood plate with oysters, lobster, and crab that's super tasty.

a favorite evening for my fiancé and i is to sit in the bar (or on the patio in the nicer weather) and order a selection of appetizers. two of our favorites are the tower of tuna and the escargot. chandler's has a great wine list but we usually opt for the 10 minute martini - hands down the smoothest martini i've ever had.

incase you save room for dessert, their chocolate souffle is their signature sweet. not being such a fan of chocolate (yeah, i know...) i love the butterscotch creme brulée!

there's more to a restaurant than just the food though and the amazingly talented jazz musicians that play there every night of the week and the professional (not to mention downright nice) waitstaff makeschandlersour go to restaurant whether it be a special occasion, a business dinner or just a great date night.

yummy chocolate souffle. we lovechandlersand actually got engaged there. we've had mostly good experiences there. i love their scallops and the chocolate souffle will make you melt it's so amazing! my husband always loves his steak. the only complaint i've ever had about the food is that every once in a while i'll get a piece of sand in my scallop which isn't desirable. that being said, the last time we were there we had a total snob for a waitress. we stopped by on a friday night for an impromptu date night and while were weren't in a our 'best dress' we looked more than acceptable. the waiter on the other hand acted like we were second rate. on the other hand, a second waiter in our area who took care of us half the time because our waiter was 'too busy' with other people was perfectly sweet and met our every need. i left our waiter and extra healthy tip with a note that told him to stop treating customers as second rate and to get over himself. we'll definitely go back again but if he's our waiter i won't hesitate to ask for someone else. all in all, that's the only problem we've ever had there and it's a wonderful restaurant!
