by far the best restaurant in the city. thefoodis consistently good, and the menu is not overly trendy. i've been to a handful of private events here, and even when trying to timefoodfor a larger group, the chef has done a great job. on the downside, there is one waiter/ sommelier that is a bit pretentious, and that's irritating, and it's expensive, but not more than you would expect at a nice steakhouse. if we were comparing chandlers to restaurants in other cities, my rating wouldn't be as high, but for what we have here, it's fantastic. also the seafood is always very fresh which is wonderful for a city without a coast. i especially love the abalone and tuna preparations. finally, my steak is always prepared perfectly to my preferences. i've really come to appreciate this since at ruth's chris, they have every time, without fail, undercooked at least one person's steak at my table.

not a particularly great idea for a vegetarian like me to goto a steakhouse, one considered the best in the city. however went one evening with colleagues and clearly they loved thefoodand raved about it all evening. i enjoyed the wines, the salads and sides and while none of them were spectacular, they were good. the decor was chic and the service prompt and attentive. pity couldn't eat their main offerings to comment on.

anniversary dinner. took my lady out for our aniversery.... was a very nice experiance bought a $45 steak was ok not great. the soup was another $9 .. the steak came with a 1/2 broiled tamatoe and a dab of mashed potatoes..... wife had the salmon and it was good but not great like the $31 price tag would command and another $6 for soup... she had coffee and i had water.... total bill $100 and with the tip came to be $120.... we have spent several evenings in the lounge with a few drinks and some of their bar meals and have enjoyed that. for us we will continue to go to chandlers but will stay in the lounge. the service was great and so was the atmosphere..... was just disipointed in thefoodquality for the price

over priced disgusting food. recently, my wife and i went to chandlers steakhouse. we ordered steaks which were fifty dollars a piece. we asked for them to be cooked medium well done. when the waitress brought them to us, we could still see blood. i'm not talking about just a little bit of blood, i'm talking about a lot of blood... as in our steaks were almost raw - i kid you not! when i complained, she said there was nothing she could do about it. she did not even offer to take them back and cook them a little longer. not only poor service, but unsanitary as well. this is not the place to visit for fine dining. maybe for vampires... but not for people who want to enjoy a good meal. as fate would have it, we were to run into a waiter that had once worked for chandlers, who was now working at a local establishment. when we shared our experience with him, he chuckled saying that, "we used to take home the returned steaks from the people who didn't want to eat them because they weren't cooked properly." he went on to say that the staff would laugh because they'd get to each such expensivefoodfor free!"

best experience. i recently came into town for business and was pleasantly surprised at what a great experience i had at this restaurant .
thefoodwas incredible and very reasonably priced. i didn't know what i should get because i wanted everything. i had the kobe flat iron and a couple scallops to try a local steak suggested by our waiter scott. it was perfectly prepared and one of the best steaks i ever had. we shared the creme brulee, the cheescake for dessert . the cheesecake was the best i've ever had.
the dinner was great and our waiter scott made the experience exceptional!

three words: ten minute martini. ask the older gentleman bartender there about the 10 minute martini and he has such a fantastic story to tell about how he invented this smoothest martini ever. (if he is not there, they have a printed out story they can hand you but nothing like hearing it from the old man himself.) i don't even like gin but this concoction was amazing. be aware that it takes 10 minutes to make, so order ahead of time :) haven't tried much of thefoodthere, but i definitely enjoy going there for a glass of wine or the martini! live entertainment too which is nice!

expensive but great!. chandlers is a very nice dining experience. a little on the expensive side with the portions being a little too small, but other than that, it is great! thefoodtastes great and the wine list is seemingly never-ending!

the total package. don't let the word "steakhouse" in the name of this establishment fool ya - this is no dark, stodgy, beef-centric restaurant. oh yeah... there's steaks on the menu - lots and lots of them, and i was moved by the filet unlike any filet before but that's just the beginning of their culinary talents. you might think boise, idaho, in all it's land lock-ness, would not be a mecca for fresh seafood, but chandler's is so fresh and tasty, i'd swear it was swimming in the sea the day before. last time i was there, i had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection. i've also had the halibut and the sea bass which were equally wonderful and they have a mixed cold seafood plate with oysters, lobster, and crab that's super tasty.

a favorite evening for my fiancé and i is to sit in the bar (or on the patio in the nicer weather) and order a selection of appetizers. two of our favorites are the tower of tuna and the escargot. chandler's has a great wine list but we usually opt for the 10 minute martini - hands down the smoothest martini i've ever had.

incase you save room for dessert, their chocolate souffle is their signature sweet. not being such a fan of chocolate (yeah, i know...) i love the butterscotch creme brulée!

there's more to a restaurant than just thefoodthough and the amazingly talented jazz musicians that play there every night of the week and the professional (not to mention downright nice) waitstaff makes chandlers our go to restaurant whether it be a special occasion, a business dinner or just a great date night.

i "don't like it" because of the price.... we were there for our anniversary on a saturday evening and sat in the bar at one of the high tables, which we don't mind. the service was quite good and over all thefoodwas good. my wife had the special; sea bass & steak (surf & turf), i had the chilean sea bass from the menu. mine was quite good even for $30, my wife's was $65 which i thought was a little high since the steak was 6oz, maybe 8oz.. the flavor was quite good for both, but the oh gratin potato's tasted bad. sally tibbs & kevin kirk were fun to listen too. the drinks are pretty spendy also. over all we did enjoy the night, but for almost $200 i expect thefoodto be perfect.
i say try it if you have some money to spare, and form your own opinion.

yummy chocolate souffle. we love chandlers and actually got engaged there. we've had mostly good experiences there. i love their scallops and the chocolate souffle will make you melt it's so amazing! my husband always loves his steak. the only complaint i've ever had about thefoodis that every once in a while i'll get a piece of sand in my scallop which isn't desirable. that being said, the last time we were there we had a total snob for a waitress. we stopped by on a friday night for an impromptu date night and while were weren't in a our 'best dress' we looked more than acceptable. the waiter on the other hand acted like we were second rate. on the other hand, a second waiter in our area who took care of us half the time because our waiter was 'too busy' with other people was perfectly sweet and met our every need. i left our waiter and extra healthy tip with a note that told him to stop treating customers as second rate and to get over himself. we'll definitely go back again but if he's our waiter i won't hesitate to ask for someone else. all in all, that's the only problem we've ever had there and it's a wonderful restaurant!

nice trendy atmosphere.foodis not quite up to the reputation, but still quite good. our waiter ( steve) was highly professional. we ate in side room which was perfect. main room was a bit loud. steaks not as well done as ruth chris. be prepared to drop $50 per person without alcohol.
