by far the best restaurant in the city. the food is consistently good, and the menu is not overly trendy. i've been to a handful of private events here, and even when trying to time food for a larger group, the chef has done a great job. on the downside, there is one waiter/ sommelier that is a bit pretentious, and that's irritating, and it's expensive, but not more than you would expect at a nice steakhouse. if we were comparing chandlers to restaurants in other cities, my rating wouldn't be as high, but for what we have here, it's fantastic. also the seafood is always very fresh which is wonderful for a city without a coast. i especially love the abalone and tuna preparations. finally, my steak is always prepared perfectly to my preferences. i've really come to appreciate this since at ruth's chris, they have every time, without fail, undercooked at least one person's steak at my table.

not a particularly great idea for a vegetarian like me to goto a steakhouse, one considered the best in the city. however went one evening with colleagues and clearly they loved the food and raved about it all evening. i enjoyed the wines, the salads and sides and while none of them were spectacular, they were good. the decor was chic and the service prompt and attentive. pity couldn't eat their main offerings to comment on.

very pretty atmosphere. started at the bar for "social hour" and moved to main dining room for dinner. extensive wine list (we elected for local wine that was great). our steak was prepared perfect and extremely tender. my main reason for going was the soufflé and it did not disappoint. could have shared it with 4 people..... it was rich and quite large. will definitely go back. great meal!!

disappointed - no longer our "go to" special steakhouse.. we always chose chandler's for special occasions and when hosting somebody "special". after last saturday's dinner, we are re-thinking this. my steak was pricey, poorly cut, extremely small, poorly cooked. service mediocre - waitress talked down to us - treated us like we were teens out for the first time at a "real" restaurant. at some point some man breezed by, asked how things were, and was gone almost before we answered. don't know who he was because he couldn't take a few seconds to introduce himself. really? what's happened to our chandler's'? bad experience!!!

anniversary dinner. took my lady out for our aniversery.... was a very nice experiance bought a $45 steak was ok not great. the soup was another $9 .. the steak came with a 1/2 broiled tamatoe and a dab of mashed potatoes..... wife had the salmon and it was good but not great like the $31 price tag would command and another $6 for soup... she had coffee and i had water.... total bill $100 and with the tip came to be $120.... we have spent several evenings in the lounge with a few drinks and some of their bar meals and have enjoyed that. for us we will continue to go to chandlers but will stay in the lounge. the service was great and so was the atmosphere..... was just disipointed in the food quality for the price

over priced disgusting food. recently, my wife and i went to chandlers steakhouse. we ordered steaks which were fifty dollars a piece. we asked for them to be cooked medium well done. when the waitress brought them to us, we could still see blood. i'm not talking about just a little bit of blood, i'm talking about a lot of blood... as in our steaks were almost raw - i kid you not! when i complained, she said there was nothing she could do about it. she did not even offer to take them back and cook them a little longer. not only poor service, but unsanitary as well. this is not the place to visit for fine dining. maybe for vampires... but not for people who want to enjoy a good meal. as fate would have it, we were to run into a waiter that had once worked for chandlers, who was now working at a local establishment. when we shared our experience with him, he chuckled saying that, "we used to take home the returned steaks from the people who didn't want to eat them because they weren't cooked properly." he went on to say that the staff would laugh because they'd get to each such expensive food for free!"

best experience. i recently came into town for business and was pleasantly surprised at what a great experience i had at this restaurant .
the food was incredible and very reasonably priced. i didn't know what i should get because i wanted everything. i had the kobe flat iron and a couple scallops to try a local steak suggested by our waiter scott. it was perfectly prepared and one of the best steaks i ever had. we shared the creme brulee, the cheescake for dessert . the cheesecake was the best i've ever had.
the dinner was great and our waiter scott made the experience exceptional!

i really wanted to like this place, but my $77 steak & salad dinner was less flavorful than my $9 taco lunch. too bad! the service was excellent, but i wouldn't go back.

our new year's eve experience. we had a magnificent evening at chandlers!

our evening started with reservations at berryhill but unfortunately or now fortunately for us they were serving buffet dinner
which would not suffice the women in our party. we immediately got on the phone and contacted chandlers (whom we have ate
at several times and always enjoy...we're just trying different restaurants!) the gentleman on the phone said they were booked
but seating in the bar might be possible.

this is where the magic begins!

first we arrived and were greeted by two charming, handsome and happy young men! i am sorry i did not get their names but
what a pleasure to see happy employees having to work on new year's eve. these young men worked their magic and got
us a table for 4! thank you! and thank you for doing it with a smile on your face and winning one for the husbands!

second, we received impeccable service from ciam! she arrived promptly at our table for drink orders and any questions.
again a smile on her lovely face the entire evening!

third, the food! exquisite!!! can i sum it up any better than exquisite! the ahi tuna cooked to perfection with those wasabi
mashed potatoes, the sea bass delicately cooked with a nice crunchy outer layer, the cowboy steak mouth watering!!
napoleon a perfectly light ending to the meal! from the first course to the third!!! lovely!!!

chandlers is doing it right! whatever they are doing with their employees they are doing something right!
they appear to not only like their jobs but enjoy their jobs!

from the moment we stepped into chandlers to the moment we left, we felt welcomed, important and extraordinarily grateful!
grateful for the pleasure of meeting the host and servers. grateful for experiencing their sumptuous food!
grateful to know that chandlers cares!

an anniversary to forget. we tried chandler's for the first time on our anniversary and were disappointed overall. the 10-minute martini was outstanding, and the service was very good, but everything else was mediocre at best. my steak was charred (well past a sear) and nearly medium well, when i'd ordered it medium rare. the bleu cheese potato gratin tasted not at all like bleu cheese, but bland potatoes. i could go on, but i'll just go to fork or brickyard instead.

terrible dining experience. i have never before felt compelled to write an unfavorable review about a restaurant or service, but i believe in this case it is completely warranted. i visited chandler’s last friday night for dinner with my daughters, following the death of my mother. my younger daughter and i arrived promptly for our 6 pm reservation, but the elder was unexpectedly detained (she is a nurse; these things do happen). my daughter and i ordered a bottle of wine, bottled water, and an appetizer to share while waiting. time passed, and we ordered another appetizer. at 6:30, the sommelier approached our table and pointedly asked when our guest was expected, as they “needed the table.” i was nearly speechless. we had made the restaurant aware both when we made the reservation and later when we arrived that it was a dinner meant to mourn my mother’s death. we had ordered and consumed at that time more than ample “billable product” to justify our “table time” and would eventually end up spending well over $250 for the meal and drinks that evening. it was absolutely inexcusable for a staff member to conduct himself in this manner. if i had been made aware when placing the reservation that the table would be needed for another party and that we were to rush our meal to accommodate a later seating, i would have selected another restaurant. i explained our situation (again) to the sommelier and he eventually left us alone. my other daughter arrived within minutes. as if this weren’t enough, when we later decided to order dessert, we were asked again to be moved to a “booth” as the “table was needed.” i have been fortunate to have dined at some of the finest restaurants in this world and have never experienced such demeaning and inappropriate behavior. i will not return to this restaurant and believe that others should be made aware of this “time out” seating policy and disrespectful treatment by staff.

high end restaurant well worth the visit. yes, it is expensive. but the service, the presentation, the food(!) all warrant this. our server was excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and spot on with his suggestions. the bay scallops and the argentine steak were phenomenal, as was the black orchid ahi tuna. we were dressed buisiness casual - i was surprised to see fellow diners in shorts and tees. this restaurant is now one of my top choices for special events.
