omg! the salad bar!!! it is the best. i am not much of a carnivore, so it is wasted on me. but i would go just for the salad bar and the excellent service.

...what you pay is worth what you get. the per person cost is pricey, but for the amount and quality of food, it is well worth it.

if your looking for a unique dining experience, this is the place to visit! you better come hungry, as your treated to 14 different cuts of meats, all serve off of skewers, loaded with flavor! absolutely delicious! another thing you'll notice besides the excellent food is the awesome service. i don't think i've ever had to wait more than a minute for a refill or a clean plate, literally! this has become a favorite of mine, and am quite sure you'll feel the same after your first visit!

what's the big deal here?. we blew through a 100.00 gift card on a early sunday afternoon...they bring this huge hunk of beef and slice the burnt outside part and give you a sliver of 2 inches by 1 inch and look at you. i said "keep cutting" and he cut another piece half that size and gave me a look like "eat that and i'll bring you more!" for the price they offer very little other than a salad bar, i don't pay 50.00 for a silly salad! we won't go back! i hated how the servers stood near you listening to your conversation....rude. who ever heard of serving meat on a broom stick? they carry it out and make a big show about that, why? i don't care that my food has been breathed on by every ofther person in the place as you carry it about . gross

***** class act. i was there with my family. this was the best restaurant i've been to in 1 1/2 yrs in san antonio. the atmosphere was mellow, the service was impeccable. the servers were swarming around your table with cuts of meat. the busboys the same way, to pickup your plate, to replenish your water, to bring you more sides. i didn't have to ask for anything, they were so attentive, as soon as you lifted up your head there was someone there. the food was mouth watering, the most tender pieces of meat. the salad bar was wonderful they had parma grana cheese, prosciutto , gorgonzola and many other gourmet items. oh, and kids under the age of 6 are free. does it get any better than this? it's worth every penny. bottom line, you are treated like a king and i will be there again.

great food. start with the fantastic salad bar........all fresh. continue with the many different meats and some sides . we like the filet mignon and rack of lamb chops the best. all of the meats are excellent and the service is not to be believed. also love the rib eye and ribs. drinks and deserts also great. this excellent restaurant is definitely one of the best in san antonio so we return again and again. definitely worth the money.

steak!!. a carnivore's paradise, this place never disappoints. ya its 40 bucks to get in but considering its a place that allows you to try several cuts and types of meat (lamb chicken and pork). plus the ridiculous opportunity to try and eat your body weight in steak, very good steak, i think the price of admission is well worth it. the staff is very courteous very helpful and all too willing to indulge your gluttonous impulses until ya flip that little card over to tell them to stop. this is one steakhouse that'll send ya home dreaming about the steak you just had. obrigado steak gods!!

amazing service... the hostesses where a bit rude and we had to wait about an hour for our table, we had a party of 15 but we had reservations days in advance, so that annoyed me. but once we sat the waiters where amazingly polite and attentive, as soon as you flip the card to green they immediately start offering all kind of delicious cuts. it was pricey, but worth it for the most part. just the hostesses where rude, other than that great experience good food (not too too amazing) but delicious. i would recommend for a nice sunday dinner or a date you want to impress.

elegant atmosphere and friendly staff. went here on my bday and was impressed. we quickly got bombarded with meat offerings which were delicious. the flan was amazing! great experience.

meat. that is all i need to say. don't dally with lettuce or cheese, sick with the meat. not your average steak house, but a very, very tasty one, and my new favorite for sure. try everything, then just ask for your favorites, the server is outstanding and the meat, well, i just wish i could make my cut's of animal that tasty for sure.

fried bananas!. this place really was bananas! as you walk in there are friendly hostess that greet you and walk you to your table. every time my wife got up from her chair as soon as she came back there was a employee pulling out her chair for her. the meat was by far the best ive ever had just wish i could have ate them all twice. for everyone that is concerned with rare and well done meats you just simply tell them and they make it happen(i saw some people write bad reviews about this?) the manager made his rounds and gave us a complimentary desert for my wifes birthday. all waiters and meat men haha were very nice too not a stuck up place i wore jeans and a button up. my advice try the bacon filet mignon! you got a special occasion and want the best food in san antonio go here! was about 100 with alcohol between my wife and i.

worth every penny!. i don't know any restaurant where you can get a decent steak dinner for less than $40, so i'm a little shocked at some of the "complaints" of the price of dinner here. that being said, chama gaucha gives you the opportunity to try 6 different cuts of beef, leg of lamb as well as chops, parmesan crusted pork tenderloin, bacon-wrapped chicken and filet, sausages, and a salad bar that has such items as endive, white asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh mozzerella just to name a few. wonderful service, and all the meats and salad items you care to eat without feeling rushed. i don't know how we found room for dessert, but it was my father's birthday and the cheesecake, mousse cake, and creme brulee were all top notch as well. the only thing i didn't care for was the bacon, but everyone else at the table thought it was delicious. i'm sure this was just a personal preference. i only do crispy and this wasn't and carried the sharp "pork" flavor. cheese bread and fried plantains are wonderful, but will fill you up quickly, so don't overindulge! i would go back tonight if my pants would still fit after another trip.....
